The Environmental Competence Centre has a number of climate chambers at its disposal to carry out low and high temperature tests, as well as a number of combined climate chambers for low temperatures at high levels of relative humidity. 7 Temperature shock facility. Temperature shock tests are carried out amongst others on electronic components and composite products that can be subject to rapid changes in temperature. These tests also give more insight in properties and ageing of the devices examined. 8 Salt fog chamber. Corrosion tests are carried out on products, which will be subjected to sea and industrial climates. The climate chambers allow reproducible and quickened corrosion tests to be carried out according to international specifications. These tests determine corrosion resistance or can help with the application of corrosion protective measures. In the salt mist chamber, constant salt sprinkling tests, as well as test with sprinkle intervals (0-60 min) can be carried out. These tests are performed according to international specifications, like ASTM-117B, MIL-STD-810 and 202, IEC-68 and DIN In addition the condensation water test according to DIN can be carried out. 9 Temperature Vacuum Chamber. The temperature vacuum chamber is intended for carrying out tests on products in the field of extreme cold temperatures in combination with low pressure. Temperature vacuum tests are, amongst others, carried out to simulate air transport conditions for example in accordance with MIL 810 and IEC. 10 Large climate chamber 1. The large climate chamber is intended for carrying out tests on larger products and systems in the field of extreme temperatures and adjustable relative humidity. In addition solar radiation (1250W/m2) is possible. Climate tests are, amongst others, carried out under the authority of defence, car and aviation industry. Products tested are amongst others, radar systems, shelters, aggregates and vehicles.
