2 LASTCHANCE Dear Charolais Friends, Thanks for giving my family and I a wonderful experience and journey in the Charolais industry. We have so many great memories. We have enjoyed working with and getting to know the awesome people in this business. Many of you are lifelong friends that are deeply loved. All the cattle in the world are not worth as much as the love and support you have given my family and I. Jessica and I are having this Last Chance Bull Sale without any regrets in terms of our cattle. We have fought the good fight. We have gone full speed in mass producing our best, investing all we ve had into elite genetics, and working long hours for 45 years. We have never compromised in breeding what we think are the right kind for customer satisfaction. Profit, Production Traits, Performance, and Eye Appeal have been the driving factors in our program. We have been very disciplined in our breeding program. Our #1 goal has been producing bulls that improve our customer s bottom line and move the beef industry forward. Our spring and fall production sales these past 20 years have consistently been among the best in the nation. I hope that is a testimony of our cattle doing their job for their new owners. Believe me, it happens frequently because of all the positive sale reports we get. Also, when our seedstock partners sell their M6 influence bulls or heifers for five thousand or more, it makes me so proud of them. It warms my heart to see the success of customers when they credit M6 genetics as part of the formula. We have lived it and know how much planning, work, and discipline it takes to prosper in the cattle business. 100% of our income has come from cows and we are living proof that it is possible to prosper. 4 SALE INFORMATION M6 BULLS DEVELOPED FOR LONGEVITY: M6 bulls stay sounder and last longer because they are developed in pastures. The bulls are developed on a high roughage ration and are acclimated to Texas heat. M6 bulls have a positive track record of holding up in harsh gulf coast conditions and northern high country. BULL DEVELOPMENT FOR SUMMER PICKUP AT $3.00/DAY: If you do not need your bulls until summer NO Problem! For your convenience you can leave your yearling bull purchases here at M6 and we will continue to grow and develop them at or below cost. At $3.00 a day per bull. You cannot beat this deal! These bulls should weigh 200 pounds or more by the end of June and be big and stout enough to service large framed mature cows. Some of the younger bulls could use a few more months to mature before heavy service. We would like these bulls picked up by the end of June. Glossary Of Terms & Abbreviations DH, P, OR P/S Dehorned, Polled, Polled/Scurred-horned status of the bull. BW Birth weight - the actual weight in pounds at birth. Ratio A direct comparison of one calf to all other calves in his contemporary group for weaning (adj 205-day weight), yearling (adj 365-day weight), ribeye area (adj 365-day REA) and Marbling (adj 365-day % intramuscular fat). Contemporary Group A group of cattle the same age and given equal treatment. Bulls born between Dec. and Feb. (W - Winter born); Bulls born between Oct. and Nov. (LF - Late Fall born); Bulls born between Aug. and Sept. (F - Fall born). Adj WW Weaning Weight - the WW adjusted to 205 days of age. Adj YW Yearling Weight - the YW adjusted to 365 days of age. ET Embryo Transfer Calf - all ET calves have a weaning weight ratio of 100. % IMF Intramuscular Fat or Marbling - Marbling is measured as percent intramuscular fat. Heritability for marbling is in the moderate range. % IMF Ratio The % above or below average (100 = average) a bull is for his marbling in his contemporary group. Adj Y REA Each bulls ribeye area measured in square inches and adjusted to 365 days of age. Adj Yrlg REA Ratio Adjusted Yearling Ribeye Area Ratio - The % above or below average (100 = average) a bull is for his ribeye area in square inches and adjusted to one year of age (Adj Yrlg REA) in his contemporary group. SC Scrotal Circumference - the actual measurement in centimeters (cm). Take into account that these bulls were measured at approximately one year of age. Bulls are maturing rapidly at this age and their testicular development is expected to continue to grow. It is not completely fair to compare a bull measured at 14 month of age to a bull measured at 11 month of age. TW Twins - All twins have a weaning weight ratio of 100. EPDS The expected difference in performance of the animals progeny compared to the average progeny performance of all animals evaluated within the breed. EPD values are reported in standard units (pounds for growth traits). Performance information used to calculate EPD values can come from any combination of the following: (1) progeny (2) relatives in the pedigree (particularly the individual sire and dam) (3) grand progeny (4) the individuals own performance record. Note: AICA gives all ET calves a 100 ratio for all traits. However the ratios in this sale booklet reflect the performance of each bull within the contemporary groups at M6. Hip Height / Frame Score & Guarantee We provide actual yearling hip height measurements on all bulls for those who are interested in the frame score of the bulls. We have been measuring hip height for a number of years in an effort to increase performance without increasing frame. Age Frame Score MontHerd Sire Prospect M6 Breeding Guarantee M6 guarantees that all bulls sold from this ranch are fertile to the best of our knowledge. If injured within the next 30 days after purchase(in case of bulls, making them functionally infertile) we will provide you a satisfactory replacement (if available) or issue you a refund equal to your purchase, minus the salvage value. Recently, this fall another sister to M6 Pinnacle was the $18,000 high seller at the Southern Cattle Company Dispersal going to Harlin Hecht and Legacy Charolais. There is a lot of data to digest and this selection guide will help producers identify the bulls that best fit their management goals. CALVING EASE Note: We feed our cattle a little more than most commercial operations and therefore our actual birth weights are going to be a little higher than what you would expect from your calves at your operation. Heifer Safe - Bulls that meet objective and visual criteria that should help calving go easier, contribute to a higher percent calf crop and help first calf heifers breed back quicker. Bulls with an actual birth weight of 84 lbs. or lighter and have a BW-EPD in the top 40% of the breed. 2nd Calf Safe - Bulls recommended for females that have had at least one calf or small and narrow cows. Bulls with a BW-EPD in the top 75% of the breed and have an actual BW of less than 95 lbs. in our management. Cow Safe - Bulls recommended for mature cows.
