She passed Thursday, February 16 th. She was 86 years old. CONDOLENCES TO MATT Please keep the Heselbarth family in your prayers. Fellow member Matt lost his father on the 23 rd. This unexpected loss of Eric was a shock to the family. Please keep the Heselbarth family in your thoughts and prayers. CLUB EVENTS As you begin to dust off and fire up your Oldsmobiles, what events are you planning on attending this year? What have you wished the club would do together but as yet has not? Please come prepared to the meeting to offer your club activity ideas! We want to hear them! NATIONAL S CARAVAN Are you headed to the Oldsmobile National s this year? If so, are you planning to caravan there? Have you heard that a caravan is being organized which starts in Chicago and will follow Rte 66? Another caravan is being organized starting in LA and headed east on Rte 66. If you are interested, please ask at the meeting for details and how to join other Oldsmobilers in their journey to and from the Nationals event! 3 President s Message Good Day Folks, tonight I am witting this on February 20th and it was 78 degrees today. We have been blessed here in the Mid-West this winter. Just another month and we could squeak by with a not bad at all winter. I don't want to say anything about snow shovels or I will jinx this whole thing. Please keep club member Randy Masnica in your thoughts as he has lost his Mother Edna Schultz his birth Mother. She passed Thursday February 16th as she was 86. More funeral information forthcoming. I wish to thank Shannon for making three different fliers for our 2017 All Oldsmobile Fun Show flier options. Last meeting we had the membership vote on which out of the three the majority liked. If you missed the meeting you will see soon which flier was chosen for this year s All Oldsmobile Fun Show promotion. Thank you Shannon for your hard work! We have new club business cards to hand out during the 2017 season with a new contact included. If you have the old style from last year you need to replace those with our new club business cards. We will have them at the next meetings or contact me and I can mail you some. This works well for the club if you can place those cards on Oldsmobile's you see at a cruise or show or even sitting on the street. It has our club web site included. The Classic Car Trivia Night has come and gone when you get this. We had two tables and new member Pat Taff has reserved another table with his friends. Again this year Janet Bardle volunteered to make up a tool box with car related items to give to the Classic Car Club for the silent auction. The club voted to give Janet some money to build this and she has done a wonderful job getting a metal tool box with car related items filling this box. Janet does a great job making this silent auction box for the benefit towards the Wheels in Motion Children's Cancer Society and the Shiners Organization. When you see Janet next time, thank her for all her hard work doing this to represent our Oldsmobile Club. Thank you Janet! The month of February the club donates to a couple of organizations for This year again we gave a donation to the R. E. Oldsmobile Museum and to local Bruce Kunz to support his effort to "Take a Kid to a Car Show". Thank you goes out to the club's membership for your generosity again this year. Thank you. President s Message cont. from previous page Again this year the club received an invitation to attend the Horseless Carriage Club Easter Concourse De Elegance Car Show on Sunday April 16th Easter Sunday at the Muny parking lot for our club display. We passed around a signup sheet and we had only a few sign up to attend. At the next meeting the members will have a second opportunity to sign up as to display your Oldsmobile at the Easter Car Display to represent the Archway Oldsmobile Club. We offer coffee and donuts at this event. More to follow... It's a fun day. The club has received an invitation to the 25th Annual Oldsmobile Homecoming Car show and Swap Meet on Saturday June 17th at Lansing Michigan. Several members signed up to attend again this year as this is a very large supported weekend event with a cruise Friday night, a car display and swap meet on Saturday with a open house at the R.E. Oldsmobile Museum Saturday night for a small donation to enter. This is one of the biggest Oldsmobile Annual events all year and the swap meet is Huge. If you are interested, come to the meeting for the information or contact me and I can mail your all the information for you to attend this big event. This is Father's Day Weekend. Please consider coming. The 1st annual Cruise-In Show at Frisco Hill Auto Shop 4615 Baumgartner Road in South County on Saturday May 6th. Chris Doria and his associates will have attendance prizes, goodie bags, product samples, Live Music and Food Trucks available. For a 1st annual seems Chris has a lot going on here. I suggest you attend this event to support our club member and Oldsmobile enthusiast at his first event. Stephanie gave me some fliers that I will hand out at the next meeting. This will be a big event I suggest you get there early. I have mentioned several club activities at the last meeting with little response. I will try again at the next meeting. The one idea I would like to further support is a run out to the city of Troy to have an early dinner at Stephanina's Restaurant. I know the owner and he, his wife and his family are good folks so I would like to get members to gather at this location for a food feast. Can the membership gather for an Italian feast on a Saturday in Troy? If a member has an activity that you believe would be of interest for the members, bring it up at the next meeting. It has a Edelbrock Performer intake manifold with a Holley 4165 carburetor, mechanical secondaries, GM HEI distributor with adjustable vacuum advance, MSD multiple discharge electronic ignition. The block squared and aligned honed with torque plate with forged pistons balanced to zero grams. Also has a competition 260 Cam advanced 4 degrees with offset bushings and steel timing chain. The interior is original with bench seat in very good condition. It was repainted the original color Covert Beige with polyurethane clear coat. New Goodrich Radial TA tires on Weld Rodlite 15X7 forged alloy wheels.
