1 INTENT OF SPECIFICATIONS Navistar 16ft. Heavy Duty Rescue It is the intent of these specifications to cover our bid for furnishing a complete non walk-in Rescue apparatus equipped as hereinafter specified. With a view to obtaining the best results and the most acceptable apparatus for service in the fire department, these specifications cover the general requirements as to the type of construction, together with certain details as to finish, equipment and appliances with which the successful bidder must conform. Minor details of construction and materials where not otherwise specified are left to the discretion of the contractor, who will be solely responsible for the design and construction of all features. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS The unit specified meets all State and Federal safety standards and laws that are in effect on the date of the bid for the item(s) that are being specified and the particular use for which they are meant. QUALITY AND WORKMANSHIP The design of the apparatus shall embody the latest approved automotive engineering practices, experimental designs and methods shall not be acceptable. The workmanship shall be of the highest quality in its respective field. Special consideration is given to the following points: accessibility of the various units that require periodic maintenance, ease of operation (including both pumping and driving) and symmetrical proportions. Construction shall be rugged and ample safety factors shall be provided to carry loads as specified. DELIVERY & TERMS The successful bidder shall agree to furnish the apparatus within 120 to 150 calendar days after the receipt of order. The apparatus shall be paid in full upon acceptance by the Fire Department at the manufacturer s facility. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION The complete apparatus, assemblies, subassemblies, component parts and so on, will be designed and constructed with due consideration to the nature and distribution of the load to be sustained and to the general character of the service to which the apparatus is to be subjected when placed in service. All parts of the apparatus will be strong enough to withstand the general service under full load. The apparatus will be so designed that the various parts are readily accessible for lubrication, inspection, adjustment and repair. The apparatus will be designed and constructed, and the equipment so mounted, with due consideration to distribution of the load between the front and rear axles, that all specified equipment, including a full compliment of specified ground ladders, full water tank, loose equipment, and firefighters; will be carried without overloading or injuring the apparatus. 2 OPERATION AND SERVICE DOCUMENTATION The documentation will address at least the inspection, service, and operations of the fire apparatus and all major components thereof. The manufacturer shall also provide documentation of the following items for the entire apparatus and each major operating system or major component of the apparatus: 1. Manufacturers name and address 2. Country of manufacture 3. Source of service and technical information 4. Parts and replacement information 5. Descriptions, specifications, and ratings of the chassis, pump, and aerial device 6. Wiring diagrams for low voltage and line voltage systems to include the following information: representations of circuit logic for all electrical components and wiring, circuit identification, connector pin identification, zone location of electrical components, safety interlocks, alternator-battery power distribution circuits, and input/output assignment sheets or equivalent circuit logic implemented in multiplexing systems 7. Lubrication charts 8. Operating instructions for the chassis, any major components such as a pump or aerial device, and any auxiliary systems 9. Precautions related to multiple configurations of aerial devices, if applicable 10. Instructions regarding the frequency and procedure for recommended maintenance 11. Overall apparatus operating instructions 12. Safety considerations 13. Limitations of use 14. Inspection procedures 15. Recommended service procedures 16. Troubleshooting guide 17. Apparatus body, chassis, and other component manufacturers warranties 18. Special data required by this standard The manufacturer shall deliver with the apparatus all manufacturers operations and service documents supplied with components and equipment that are installed or supplied by the manufacturer. MANUFACTURING LABELS A permanent plate shall be mounted in a compartment specifying the quantity and type of the following fluids that may be used in the apparatus for normal maintenance. Where a fluid is not applicable to the unit, the plate shall be marked N/A to inform the service technician who may not be familiar with the apparatus. Engine oil Page 2 of 25

Heavy Duty Rescue SEAT BELT SIGN: An accident prevention sign stating Danger Personnel Must Be Seated And Seat Belts Must Be Fastened While Vehicle Is In Motion Or Death or Serious Injury May Result." shall be visible from each seating position. SEATING CAPACITY SIGN: A permanent sign shall be installed in the drivers compartment specifying the maximum number of personnel the vehicle is designed to carry (seating capacity) per NFPA standards. It shall be located in an area visible to the driver and shall read SEATING CAPACITY Standard Cab (2), Extended Cab (5), and Crew Cab (5). ACCIDENT PREVENTION SIGN: An accident prevention sign stating "Danger Do Not Ride On Rear Step While Vehicle Is In Motion, Death Or Serious Injury May Result" shall be placed so it is visible from the rear step of the vehicle. A similar sign shall be placed on the top mount walkway. OVERALL TRAVEL CLEARANCE PLATE: There shall be a travel clearance-warning label located in the chassis cab. The travel clearance-warning label shall be located in easy view of the driver. The travel clearance-warning label to include the following information: Overall travel clearance height in feet and inches. GVW SIGN: The manufacturer shall supply the final manufacturer's furnished certification of GVWR and GAWR on a nameplate affixed to the vehicle. TYPE OF FUEL SIGN: A Diesel Fuel Only nametag shall be attached to fuel fill access door. FINAL STAGE LABEL: A nameplate shall certify that the completed vehicle conforms to the motor vehicle safety standards previously certified by the chassis manufacturer and that the final stage Manufacturer has not altered the certification. All nameplates and instruction plates shall Page 3 of 25

4 be metal or plastic with the information permanently engraved, stamped, or etched thereon. Metal nameplates to be installed with plated screws. All nameplates are to be mounted in a conspicuous place. BID RESPONSE It is the intent of this specification to solicit bids for a 16 ft. rescue specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Fire Department. Each specification submitted shall be in the same order as the customer specification in order to properly evaluate each item. Each bidder shall indicate in the Bidders Response column whether or not they comply with the items requested. A detailed page marked Clarifications shall indicate any deviation however minor or major they may be in order to establish conformance. Each bid shall clearly state any and all items not included in the total cost of the apparatus. Page 4 of 25

5 GENERAL WARRANTY Navistar 16ft. Heavy Duty Rescue OEM WARRANTIES The following warranty will be furnished. We warrant each new piece of Fire Apparatus to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, as the Company may elect, any part or parts thereof which will be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid and as to which examination will disclose to the Company's satisfaction to have been defective, provided that such part, or parts will be returned to us no later than one (1) year after delivery of covered apparatus. Such defective part or parts will be returned or replaced free of charge and without charge for installation to the original purchaser. This warranty will not apply to: 1. Normal maintenance services or adjustments. 2. To any vehicle which will have been repaired or altered outside of our factory in any way so as, in our judgment, to affect it's stability, nor which has been subject to misuse, negligence, or accident, nor to any vehicle made by us which will have been operated to a speed exceeding the factory rated speed, or loaded beyond the factory rated load capacity. 3. Commercial chassis and associated equipment furnished with chassis, signaling devices, generators, batteries, or other trade accessories as they are usually warranted separately by their respective manufacturers. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied. All other representations as to the original purchaser and all other obligations or liabilities, including for incidental or consequential damage on the Company's behalf unless made in writing by the Company. 10 YEAR BODY & SUBFRAME WARRANTY The manufacturer shall warrant each new fire body manufactured by it, if used in a normal and reasonable manner, against structural defects caused by defects in material, design or workmanship for a period of ten (10) years or 100,000 miles, the parts & labor to the original purchaser starting the day of final delivery. 5 YEAR PAINT WARRANTY The manufacturer shall warrant each new fire and rescue apparatus manufactured by it, if used in a normal and reasonable manner, against rust through, blistering, peeling or cracking of painted surfaces for a period of five (5) years or 50,000 miles, parts & labor to the original purchaser starting the day of final delivery. The manufacturer s obligation under this warranty is strictly limited to repairing or repainting, as the Company may elect any defective part. Page 5 of 25

Location will be between the rear two seats of the crew cab. Mount two (2) bracket against the back wall of the cab, one left and one right, between the rear buckets seats. A bracket with horizontally two (2) mounted unistruts will be installed for adjustment. VEHICLE DATA RECORDER NFPA-1901 (2009 Edition) 4.11: All apparatus will be equipped with an on-board vehicle data recorder (VDR). The VDR will be capable of recording the data shown in the below shown Table in that order at least once per second. All data stored in the VDR will be up-loadable by the user to a computer and importable into a datamanagement software package. Data will be password protected with access controlled by the purchaser. Software will be provided with the apparatus that will run on both Windows and Apple operating systems and produce the following formatted reports from the uploaded data: (1) Raw second-by-second data over a specified data/time range (2) Daily log for the time the engine is running for a given date (minute by minute output of all values) (3) Weekly summary (maximum values each hour for each day of the week) (4) Monthly summary (maximum values each day for each day of the month) Page 9 of 25

10 FENDERS AND WHEEL WELLS Navistar 16ft. Heavy Duty Rescue APPARATUS BODY The wheel well openings shall be of sufficient opening to permit the utilization of tire chains or other traction devices. The wheel well shall be provided with full fender liners that shall be formed so as to eliminate pockets that might traps and collect road dirt. FENDERETTES The rear wheel openings will be trimmed with stainless steel. (4) SINGLE SCBA BOTTLE STORAGE COMPARTMENTS A total of four (4) individual SCBA bottle compartments will be installed on the vehicle. Two (2) compartments with access doors will be provided, one (1) to the front and one (1) to the rear of the rear wheel well area, on each side. Each compartment will be constructed from aluminum with rubber matting or poly. Each compartment will have an stainless steel access door with stainless steel hinge and a push-button positive latch. Automotive bulb rubber will outline the inner surface on the access door. EXTINGUISHER STORAGE COMPARTMENT One (1) set of compartments with a stainless steel access door with chrome push-button latch and stainless steel hinges will be provided to the rear of the rear wheel well area on each side with a square tube with a minimum of 8.25 and have an adequate depth to accommodate different size extinguishers. Each compartment will have capacity for one (1) extinguisher per hole and be constructed from an aluminum tube or poly material, with rubber matting. EXTERIOR BODY TRIM The exterior of the body shall be fitted with.125 inch bright aluminum diamond plate kick panel above the rear step. Kick plates shall be a minimum of 14 inches high. Rock shields shall be a minimum of 14 inches in height and shall conform to the front and rear radius of the body on each side. There shall be 1 inch x 2 inch bright aluminum diamond plate rub rail installed at the lowest edge of the apparatus body between the wheel well panels and the front and rear rock guard shields and kick plates. 11 STONE GUARDS AND PROTECTION PANELS There shall be additional protection panels installed on the apparatus at areas subject to intensive wear, scuffing and abuse. The protection panels shall be constructed from aluminum diamond plate or stainless steel material. APPARATUS BODY PAINTING Prior to applying the first coat of primer, all removable hardware items such as doors, handles, hinges, grab rails, lights etc. shall be removed. The entire body shall be fully ground smooth and sanded to eliminate any visible welded deflections. The priming and final coat application shall conform to paint manufacturers guidelines. The apparatus body shall be painted one color polyurethane to match the chassis O.E.M. paint scheme. Exact paint code and layout shall be determined during pre construction conference. SWEEP-OUT CONSTRUCTION All side body compartments shall have sweep out type floors. All compartments shall be made to the largest practical dimensions to provide maximum storage capacity for fire department equipment. Compartments that are fabricated without a Sweep Out design shall be immediately rejected. (No Exceptions) All compartments shall have aluminum vents on the top rear wall of the compartment. An aluminum cover shall be provided and installed on the outside of the compartment to shield water from entering the compartment at the vent area. REAR TAILBOARD Rear step shall be constructed of.125" polished aluminum diamondette and supported by a structural steel sub-frame. The tailboard when apparatus is fully loaded shall have a maximum ground clearance of 24" when sitting on a level surface. The tailboard shall be flanged down to provide added strength and rigidity and to prevent cutting of hands while washing the apparatus. Rear step shall be spaced away from body a minimum of 1/4". The rear step shall be 12 deep and run the entire width of the apparatus. All stepping surfaces shall be in compliance with the latest version of all applicable NFPA standards. REAR TOW HOOKS Two (2) chrome plated steel bolt-on tow hooks (13,500# per hook) shall be installed at the rear Page 11 of 25

12 of the chassis mounted in recessed aluminum tread plate enclosures. HANDRAILS All handrails used on apparatus shall be 1-1/4" diameter stainless steel tube supported at each end by a chrome-plated stanchion. All rails shall be designed and mounted to reduce the possibility of hand slippage and to avoid snagging of equipment or clothing. Drain holes shall be provided in the bottom of all vertically mounted assist handles. Handrails shall be installed in the following locations: Two (2) 24" vertical handrails shall be installed on the rear of the apparatus to the left and right of the compartment. STANLESS STEEL SCUFF PLATES There shall be a stainless steel scuff plate affixed to the lower sweep out portion of the compartment opening. The scuff plate shall serve as protection to the door edge opening. Page 12 of 25

13 COMPARTMENTATION LEFT FRONT - COMPARTMENT (L 1) This compartment shall be approximately 71 inches high x inches wide x 24 inches deep on the lower 24 of compartment height and transverse above chassis frame rails. The compartment shall have a natural finish roll up style door. One (1) 300lb roll out tray, installed at frame rail height. A support structure will be installed to the outer edge of the compartment, for the ROT mount. This tray will have customer supplied manual hydraulic reels. One (1) full with tray will be mounted above the L-1 and R-1 tray hydraulic reel trays. It will have the capability of extending, to the left or right side of the door opening. LEFT FRONT - COMPARTMENT (L 2) This compartment shall be approximately 71 inches high x inches wide x 24 inches deep on the lower 24 of compartment height and transverse above chassis frame rails. The compartment shall have a natural finish roll up style door. There shall be storage for long cribbing in L2. Storage above long cribbing to accommodate short cribbing to access from left and right side. A divider will be installed in the center of this storage area to secure the short cribbing. Two hinged access doors with positive locking latches will secure all three sections of this storage area. LEFT WHEEL WELL - COMPARTMENT (L 3) This compartment shall be located above the wheel well and shall be approximately 35 inches high x 52 inches wide x transverse. The compartment shall have a natural finish roll up style door. One (1) roll out drop down tray will be installed. One (1) roll out tray will be installed on the compartment floor. LEFT REAR - COMPARTMENT (L 4) This compartment shall be located behind the wheel well and the rear of the apparatus and shall be approximately 71 inches high x 44 inches wide x 24 inches deep. The compartment shall have a natural finish roll up style door. Two (2) adjustable shelves will be installed. Page 13 of 25

14 RIGHT FRONT - COMPARTMENT (R 1) This compartment shall be approximately 71 inches high x inches wide x 24 inches deep on the lower 24 of compartment height and transverse above chassis frame rails. The compartment shall have a natural finish roll up style door. One (1) 300lb roll out tray, installed at frame rail height. A support structure will be installed to the outer edge of the compartment, for the ROT mount. This tray will have VENDOR supplied two (2) Hannay EF RT H5M Electric re-wind hydraulic reels. Reels are mounted to the outer edge of the ROT. NOTE; Provisions will be made for hydraulic unit supplies hoses, (unit mounted under this tray) to allow extension and retraction, without damage to hoses. RIGHT FRONT - COMPARTMENT (R 2) This compartment shall be approximately 71 inches high x inches wide x 24 inches deep on the lower 24 of compartment height and transverse above chassis frame rails. The compartment shall have a natural finish roll up style door. There shall be storage for long cribbing in R2. Storage above long cribbing to accommodate short cribbing to access from left and right side. A divider will be installed in the center of this storage area to secure the short cribbing. 15 REAR CENTER - COMPARTMENT (B 1) This compartment shall be approximately inches high x 48 inches wide x 36inches deep extending over the frame rails. There shall be a wall separating compartments L 4 and R 4. One (1) roll out tray will be installed on the lower right side floor. One (1) long handle tool board will be installed on the left side floor STOKES-BACKBAORD COMPARTEMNT A compartment located in the upper portion of B 1, for (1) standard backboard and one (1) standard stokes basket, and one (1) ladder; Type 1 AA Super duty, Model 17, little giant. Type. The compartment will have a.125 smooth aluminum door and a positive latch. The compartment will be made of.125 smooth aluminum sheet. ROLL UP DOOR CONSTRUCTION Each exterior compartment will have a Hansen brand roll up door installed. The roll up doors are constructed from natural finished anodized aluminum extruded slats, which have a flexible seal between each slat for proper sealing of the door. Each door will be equipped with a latch type lift mechanism, which latches at the bottom of the door mounting extrusion. REAR CENTER DOOR DOUBLE PAN DOOR CONSTRUCTION All double-pan aluminum compartment doors used will be constructed with a full inner pan for added strength and durability. The outer pan will be fabricated from.125 aluminum plate with the top, rear, and latch sides of the door having a 30 degree bend for a superior compartment seal. The inner pan of the door will be fabricated from 1/8 (.125) mill finish aluminum with a 2 flange. Each door will be fastened to the compartment using a stainless steel piano type hinge with a full length ¼ stainless steel pin. Neoprene automotive type doors seals will be used on each door. Polished stainless D -ring door latches with a two-stage safety catch will be installed on each door. A spring type door holder will be provided on each vertically hinged door. ALL ALUMINUM RESCUE MODULE The body shall be all aluminum constructed. The body shall have seven each exterior compartments. The body shall be mounted on the before mentioned chassis and shall come with a ten year structural warranty. Page 15 of 25

16 BODY CONSTRUCTION OVERVIEW The body shall be constructed of custom aluminum extrusions and aluminum plate specifically designed for fire & rescue applications. The body shall be designed and engineered specifically for Emergency Vehicles and shall be built to meet the duty cycle for Fire and Rescue services. Manufacturers using modified stamped aluminum bodies designed for purposes other than emergency response shall not be allowed. (No Exceptions) The body shall be welded construction for maximum strength and integrity for the entire life of the apparatus. The aluminum extrusions shall be custom designed structural shapes that are an alloy of 6061 and heated to a temper of T-6 hardness. The aluminum shapes shall be designed with a force fit interlock system that shall eliminate any vibration to the welded structural members. The floor, roof, and sidewalls shall be of cage construction that is built to form an independent structure which shall be self-standing and rigid. The body shall then be mounted. No chassis building shall be required or permitted. The exterior walls shall be constructed of 5052-H32 with a heat-treated plate that is stretch leveled to a tolerance of +/ The exterior wall shall interlock into place. ROOF CONSTRUCTION The roof shall be constructed of.100 thick aluminum diamond plate. The roof structure shall consist of 2 inch x 2 inch 5052-H32 aluminum structural Z sections that shall span the full width of the body. The roof structural members shall be welded to the diamond plate roof and to the inner structural connector of the radius. The diamond plate sheet roof shall be completely welded to the roof radii, which connects directly to the sidewall structure. No caulking or screws shall be utilized or acceptable. ROOF RADIUS The roof radius shall be an extruded aluminum shape with an alloy and temper of 6061-T6 with an ultimate strength of 42,000 psi. The shape shall be a three-inch radius with a built in inner structural connector to form a one-piece side and roof structure. The radius shall be semi hollow shape for strength, reduced weight and to also allow passage for electrical wires. The roof and side sheets shall fit into the roof radius and shall be welded from the inside of the body. Page 16 of 25

17 CORNER RADIUS The corner radius shall be of the same heavy construction as the roof radius, except there shall be no built in drip molding. The corner radius shall be a three-inch radius. All corners shall be semi hollow extruded shapes for structural strength and shall give a smooth exterior appearance without bending or forming sheet metal. RESCUE SIDE STRUCTURE The sides shall be constructed with four-corner radius. The radius shall be three-inch arc shape with interlock edges on both sides. The extrusions shall be of an alloy of 6063 with a heattreated temper of T-6. The corner and roof shall be designed to work as a system that has a double gusset connector in each corner joint. The roof, corner, and sides shall be welded so as no bolts or rivets are required or permitted. Sides shall be jig locked style construction. The jig shall hold the corners and body side panels in place while inner 6063-T6 structures is welded into place. The members shall be located 12 inches on center and welded to the roof rail, inner structural connector that shall be the roof members. The doorframe shall be designed to match fit the exterior compartment doors. The frame shall be a full 1/4-inch thick. The doorframe shall have an exterior trim edge that shall channel any water away from the compartment opening. FLOOR STRUCTURE The floor structure shall consist of 2 x 2 x.125 structural 6063-T6 aluminum tubing located on 12 inch centers. These tubes shall extend the full width of the body between compartment boxes. The floor tubes shall be welded to the side structure channels. The interior floor surface shall be covered with aluminum plate with a thickness of.125 inch. ADDITIONAL FLOOR SUPPORTS Reinforcements shall be provided in the wheelwell compartment where any Air Compressor, Fill Station or DOT Cascade Cylinders shall be installed. The exact location and necessary structural re-enforcements shall be determined during the pre-construction document exchange. DOOR FRAME CONSTRUCTION All door edges and doorframes shall be constructed of aluminum. All doorframes shall be welded to the exterior sheets and to the side structure channels. Page 17 of 25

18 COMPARTMENT CONSTRUCTION All exterior compartments shall be constructed of.125 smooth aluminum plate. All corners shall be welded. Each compartment shall be vented with a minimum four-inch aluminum vent. All compartment floors shall be of the sweep out style. BODY MOUNTING The body structure sills shall be constructed of 3 inch x 1/2 inch aluminum flat bar. The flat bar shall be welded to every cross channel on both sides. The chassis and body shall be separated with a 1/2 x 3 non-metal sill. The body shall be capable of being removed from and transferred to a new chassis similarly sized to the old chassis. There shall be adequate space left between the cab and body. The body shall be attached to the chassis using 5/8-inch steel U bolts. The body shall be mounted as per the chassis manufacturer s guidelines. Page 18 of 25

19 ELECTRICAL STANDARDS Navistar 16ft. Heavy Duty Rescue APPARATUS ELECTRICAL All wiring and electrical equipment shall meet SAE standards. All lighting and reflectors shall meet Federal Motor Vehicle Standards. All OEM wiring shall be color and function coded. (NO EXCEPTIONS) The optical warning system on the fire apparatus shall be capable of two separate signaling modes during emergency operations. One mode shall signal to drivers and pedestrians that the apparatus is responding to an emergency and is calling for the right of way. The other mode shall signal that the apparatus is stopped and is blocking the right of way. The parking brake switch shall determine, through the use of switching, which mode the emergency lighting is in. The optical warning devices shall be constructed or arranged to avoid the projection of light either directly or through mirrors into any driving or crew compartments. Illumination shall be provided for controls switches, essential instructions, gauges, and instruments necessary for the operation of the apparatus and the equipment provided on it. Where external illumination is provided, it shall be a minimum of 5 foot-candles on the face of the device. Where external illumination is provided, it shall be a minimum of 4-foot lamberts. Hydraulic lines, air system tubing, control cables, and electrical lines shall be clipped to the frame or body structure of the apparatus and shall be furnished with protective heat looms and/or grommets at each point where they pass through body panels or structural members. Where any through-the-frame connector is provided, any such connector and wiring shall also be protected from shear or tear. Wiring shall be provided with properly rated low voltage over current automatic resetting protective devices. (The headlight circuit breaker shall be of the automatic reset frier type). Such devices shall be readily accessible and protected against excessive heat, damage and water spray. Switches, relays, terminals, and connectors shall have a direct current rating of 125 percent of maximum current for which the circuit is protected. Electromagnetic interference suppression shall be in accordance with SAE J551, performance levels and methods of measurement of electromagnetic radiation from vehicles and devices ( MHZ). All relays and circuit breakers shall be "plug in" type for easy replacement. All components shall be protected against corrosion, heat, vibration and moisture. The relay panel shall be installed in the cab on the floor, between the seats and have an easily removable, aluminum cover. Relay panels mounted in compartments shall not be permitted due to the increased risk of damage from moisture. (No Exceptions) Page 19 of 25

20 ROCKER SWITCH PANEL There will be a rocker switch panel located in the cab. The panel will be mounted in the center, between the driver and officer. All rockers will be provided with integral indicator lights. Switches will be provided for the "Master Warning", as well as all individual warning and scene light switches. The siren head will also be installed in this panel. SWITCH CONSOLE A 12 Jotto Desk console shall be mounted between the driver and officer seat in easy reach of both occupants. The console will house: The door ajar indicator light The battery indicator light Low voltage indicator light LOAD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM A Load Manager shall be provided and installed on the vehicle. The Load Manager is designed to meet and exceed all the requirements of NFPA The system shall sequence a total of eight (8) loads. Load shedding is accomplished in two zones; one (1) zone for lights that may be shed when on the road and the other for lights that may be shed at the scene. Selection of shedding modes is through the parking brake switch or the neutral safety switch. A high voltage detector shall be provided to detect when the sensed voltage exceeds 15 volts. High voltage, low voltage and load shedding set points are individually field adjustable. Load shedding priority is determined by the wiring connections to the Load Manager. (No Exceptions) LOW-VOLTAGE SYSTEM (LVS) A Low Voltage Alarm system shall be provided and installed on the vehicle. It is designed to meet and exceed all the requirements of NFPA DOT LIGHTING Two (2) amber and two (2) red side body running lights shall be provided and mounted, one (1) amber and one (1) red on each side approximately midway between the front and rear axle. There shall be one (1) amber turn signal light with protective covers furnished and mounted in front of the axle. There shall be five (5) lights located on the rear of the vehicle. Three (3) of the lights shall be in the tailboard area for use as identification lamps. Two (2) lights shall be provided on top stanchions, located as high and wide as possible, one (1) each side, for use as Page 20 of 25

21 clearance lamps. All required reflectors shall be bolted onto body. WHELEN (ALL LED) TAIL LIGHTS The two (2) red tail/brake lights will be Whelen 600 series 4 x 6 LED, the two (2) amber arrow turn lights will be Whelen 600 series 4 x 6 LED, and the two (2) clear back-up lights will be Whelen 600 series 4 x 6 LED. All lights will be mounted in CPI polished aluminum Tri- Cluster housings. There will be one (1) set of two mounted each side on rear face of body. COMPARTMENT LIGHTING Two (2) Hansen track lighting (10MM) light shall be provided on each vertical side of each compartment, including any and all special compartments provided with a minimum of 4 cubic feet. (No Exceptions) DOOR OPEN HAZARD LIGHT There shall be a flashing red light located on the cab dash in clear view of the driver. This light shall be illuminated automatically whenever any passenger or equipment compartment door is open. The light shall be marked Do Not Move Apparatus When Light Is On. LICENSE PLATE LIGHT A LED license plate bracket with light shall be provided and installed on the left hand rear of the body. It shall be wired to come on with the headlights. UNDERBODY/CAB GROUND LIGHTS Eight (8) Tecniq #T60-WCHP-1 clear ground illumination lights, with outward facing angle brackets shall be provided and installed. Four (4) shall be located under the cab doors, two each side, and two (2) on the left and right front of the body, two (2) shall be located to light the rear tailboard area. The lights shall activate with the parking brake. HYDRAULIC REEL Two (2) Hannay electric rewind silver painted hydraulic reel will be provided and installed in the body compartments as directed. The will have 100 x ¼ Hurst compatible color coded hoses on each reel. They are designed for LOW pressure (5000 PSI) systems. No leads will be provided. They will be wired to the chassis 12 volt electrical system. A rewind button will be provided and installed. CUSTOMER PROVIDED CORD REEL Two (2) manual cord reels will be mounted on a pull out tray as directed. Page 21 of 25

22 EMERGENCY LIGHTING NFPA-1901 Emergency lighting shall consist of: CAB UPPER ZONE WARNING LIGHTS One (1) Whelen Justice model JE2NFPA Low Profile light bar 56 long with Four (4) corner Red linear LEDS and Six (6) front CON3 LEDS will be provided and installed on the cab roof. CAB LOWER ZONE WARNING LIGHTS Four (4) WHELEN LED warning red light heads shall be installed as follows: Two (2) M6V2 RED in chassis grille (one each side) One (1) LINZ6R left front fender One (1) LINZ6R right rear fender BODY WARNING LIGHTS Ten (10) WHELEN LED series red lights shall be provided and installed as follows: Four (4) rear facing Red M9V2 Combinations warning/scene Two Upper Zone 600 SERIES Two Lower Zone Two (2) M9V2 Combination warning/scene in the upper portion of the body. Left Front & Left Rear Two (2) M9V2 Combination warning/scene in the upper portion of the body. Right Front & Right Rear Two (2) 600 SERIES in the lower zone wheel well area. SIREN One (1) Whelen model 295SL100 Hands Free 100 watt siren will be furnished and installed in between the driver & officer. The hard wired noise canceling microphone will be installed on the dash within easy reach of the driver or officer. The siren will feature Manual, Wail, Yelp, Air Horn, Piercer tones, Radio Repeat and Public Address. It will have a two (2) year standard warranty from Whelen. SIREN SPEAKER There shall be TWO (2) 100-watt siren speaker furnished and installed, one left side and one right side of the front bumper. No surface mounted speakers shall be permitted. (No Exceptions) Page 22 of 25

23 FEDERAL Q2B SIREN There will be one (1) Federal Q2B manual siren provided and recessed in the front bumper. It will be wired to the chassis 12 volt electrical system. It will have a brake switch located on the cab dash and operated by two (2) floor switches mounted in the cab, one (1) each side. Note: If the chassis provided has only two (2) batteries, a third battery Must be provided. CUSTOMER PROVIDED RADIOS & ANTENNA The manufacturer will install the wiring and coax for supplied radios and antenna. AKRON 12 VOLT LED TELESCOPING LIGHTS (19,000 LUMENS) Two (2) 12 volt model ELSS-XLDC-PS-SM4 Scene Star LED 19,000 Lumens telescoping lights will be provided and mounted, one (1) each side rear body. Each light will be mounted on a push-up, telescopic pole with a knurled twist lock mechanism to secure the extension pole in position. The lights will be wired to the chassis electrical system with a curled pig-tail. A switch will be provided and located in the console. Mounts will be as close as possible, to allow maximum raised height. 120 VOLT/20 AMP TWISTLOCK RECEPTACLES Two (2) NEMA #L5-20, 20 AMP twist-lock weather proof receptacles will be provided and installed, in the B-1 Compartment on the upper right side. The receptacles will be wire to the shore line (Kussmaul Auto Eject). KUSSMAUL PUMP PLUS 1200 A Kussmaul PumpPlus 1200 system will be provided that automatically charges the chassis air system and automatically charges the chassis battery system. AIR COMPRESSOR A small on-board air compressor will be provided and mounted on the front wall of the left hand front compartment to maintain the air pressure in the air brake system while the vehicle is not in use. A pressure switch will sense the system pressure and activate the compressor whenever the pressure drops below a predetermined level. A selector switch will be provided on the charger to operate the compressor either as a D.C. compressor or as an A.C. compressor. In either switch position the compressor will operate from Page 23 of 25

24 the vehicle battery. When D.C. position is selected, the compressor will operate whenever the pressure switch senses low system pressure so that the vehicle air system can be charged when the vehicle is away from a 120 volt A.C. source. When the department wishes to limit compressor operation only when the vehicle is connected to the 120 volt A.C. source, the switch should be placed in the A.C. position. Input: 12 volt 12 Amps Output: PSI Motor Type: Permanent Magnet.10 HP BATTERY CHARGER The on-board automatic battery charger will be provided and mounted on the front wall of the left hand front compartment to maintain the chassis battery system. The Pump Plus 1000 charger senses the batteries in the vehicle and recharges exactly as much as required. When the batteries are fully charged, all charging will stop. The state of charge is indicated on a remotely located bar graph display (on the left hand pump panel) whenever power is applied to the vehicle. The battery saver contained in the Pump Plus 1000 charger is a three (3) Amp power supply with a relay to remove the accessory loads from the battery and connect them to the power supply when the charger is energized with A.C. power. This will permit the charger to recharge the batteries without supplying the accessory load. Input: 120 volts, 50/60 Hz, 3.5 Amps Output: Amps Voltage Sense: Remote, Electronic Battery Saver: Output Voltage: 12 VDC Output Current: 3 Amps Bar Graph: Remotely located, indicates state of charge of batteries KUSSMAUL AUTO-EJECT RECEPTACLE There will be a Kussmaul "Super Auto-Eject", 110 volt, 15 amp shoreline receptacle furnished and installed on the left hand side, cab steps. When the ignition switch is activated, the electrical current will be interrupted before the plug is automatically ejected to prevent arcing. The plug for the receptacle will be shipped loose to be installed on the shoreline cord. Page 24 of 25

25 PORTABLE WINCH There will be a 15,000 lb. Portable Warn winch assembly with carrying handles each side and 90 of 7/16 cable with hook to be provided with 4-way roller. A remote control cable will also be provided. WINCH RECEIVER There will be a hitch receiver under front bumper, rear bumper, left side and the right side rear, with power connection for a portable winch. LETTERING - CUSTOMER PROVIDED REFLECTIVE STRIPING NFPA-1901 (2009 Edition) * Reflective Striping: A retro-reflective stripe(s) will be affixed to at least 50 percent of the cab and body length on each side, and at least 25 percent of the width of the front of the apparatus. The stripe or combination of stripes will be a minimum of 4 in. (100 mm) in total width. A graphic design will be permitted to replace all or part of the required striping material if the design or combination thereof covers at least the same perimeter length(s) required. Customer At least of 50% of the rear vertical surfaces of the apparatus will be equipped with a minimum 6 inch alternating red and yellow chevron retro-reflective striping sloping downward and away from the centerline of the vehicle at an angle of 45 degrees.
