2 SEZ DK a.s. is a Slovak company that represents more than 65 years history and tradition in development, production and sales of electroinstallation material. It employs more than 2 people and with the regular exports of its products to more than 28 countries, including Africa and Asia, it keeps the leading position in Central and Eastern Europe. Company uses its own R&D as well as the tool-workshop with modern machines, that provide construction and production of injection moulds and tools. It offers these services for external clients too. SEZ DK a.s. has production technology for metal processing, its own galvanization to provide surface plating of metal parts and holds a high quality plastic injection technology for production of components up to the weight of 1,3 kg. The offered product range is extremely wide, containing industrial plugs and sockets, distribution boxes, household switches and sockets, terminal blocks, installation boxes, cable glands, terminal components, terminal switches, wall and portable lights and ceramic lampholders, wall and flush-mounted distributors and installation pipes. 4 General information - terminal blocks Terminal blocks RS, RSA, RSB, RSM, RSN, RSK, RSP, RSDPS are designed for connecting of copper rigid and stranded s. RSDPS can be used also with Al s. The basic features of the original system of terminal blocks by SEZ include: º quality plastic materials complying with the hot wire test for 85 C º colour ranges adjusted to your requirements º Cu and Ms materials with a special surface finish in order to provide the lowest transfer resistance and the maximum anti-corrosion protection º high variability of connecting options Technical solutions guarantee convenient, fast and effective installation of electric distributions. Terminal blocks are fitted with wound terminals with terminal screw shanks fastened in the pressed case. Unless otherwise stated, each terminal enables a reliable connection of one or more s with the nominal connecting cross section one or two degrees smaller (e.g. terminal 2,5 mm 2 enables the connection of s 1,5 or 1 mm 2 as well). The torsion moment of screw terminals complies with the requirements of EN Interconnection of terminal blocks The interconnection of terminal blocks is enabled by jumpers for the connection of 2, 3 and 5 terminal blocks. The side walls of terminal blocks must be removed prior to connection. The jumpers consist of a connecting bridge, screws and connecting adapters. After the connecting adapter and screws have been removed, the interconnection of terminal blocks over terminal blocks with a different voltage will also be enabled. The surface ways and air distances between jumpers and live parts of such terminal block correspond with the nominal insulation voltage. The interconnection range may be increased if several jumpers are connected by a connecting bridge for two terminal blocks. The variability of terminal blocks interconnection may be extended even more with model RSA, where the interconnection is possible at two levels. Measuring adapters Measuring adapters have been designed for the pins (banana plugs) of 4 mm diameter. They are to be installed in the same places as connecting adapters. The combination of a jumper and a measuring adapter in one node is also possible. Terminal blocks RS A terminal block for universal use. It has the following advantages compared to RSDPS series: º protection increased to IP 2 º when using jumpers, a space between terminal blocks is unnecessary º better fastening to DIN rail º larger connection range Terminal block with disconnectable bridge RSA 2,5 - M The terminal block is used in circuits with a current transformer, where the secondary circuit must be closed during the exchange of measuring instruments, manipulation, or during the measuring of current in the circuit by external instruments. 5 General information - terminal blocks Terminal block with screwless terminal RSB If time is your enemy, you can rely on terminal block RSB, which is fi tted with a contact spring instead of a screw terminal. The pressure of contact spring can be released by a screwdriver while wires are being connected or disconnected, either leaning it in the indicated direction, or turning it mildly. A wire terminal must be used to connect fl exible wires. Labels are put in the centre of the upper part of terminal block. Terminal block RSM If you are looking for a solution for small spaces, you can choose terminal block RSM, which provides the full function and variability of terminal blocks RS 2,5 and RS 6, with substantially smaller dimensions, however. It has been designed for DIN rail TS 15. Terminal block for protection RSN It is used in compliance with EN and EN for both inlet and outlet s, or in compliance with EN for protection PE, PEN with utilisation of TS 35 as a bus for mutual terminal blocks connecting. Only terminal block RSN 16 (connecting cross sections 1 mm 2 and larger) can be used to connect PEN s. A Cu material DIN rail must be used in such case. The galvanised and chromate passivated steel bar can only be used for PE s. If the s are supplied through the DIN rail, it must be made from Cu material. During the installation (or uninstalling) of terminal block onto (off) the DIN rail, the screws of connecting terminals must be screwed out. Combined terminal block RSK The original solution by SEZ enables to lead both PEN and single-phase s in one width of terminal block in single-phase distributions. The extension terminal block of natural colour has been designed for this use. In five- systems, the terminal block enables the autonomous conducting of PE connected to DIN rail and the N separately from both the DIN rail and the PE. The extension terminal clamp of blue colour has been designed for this use. Terminal block RSDPS Traditional and popular solution for electric distributions. Degree of protection IP. Both case and screws are made of brass. Terminal block with fuse RSP 4 The design of these terminal blocks allows inserting a fuse element into the circuit - a glass tube protective fuse that is inserted into the tilted holder between the conductive contacts. The fuse terminal blocks can be classified for either AC or DC circuits. Terminal blocks RSP4 with LED diode can find applications in circuits where by the fuse interruption the circuit that powers the LED diode, stays closed through connected load (e.g. an inductor relay, contactor, etc.). This state is signaled by lighting up of LED diode. The circuit remains therefore not galvanic disconnected. If the circuit is interrupted at the same time with the fuse interruption, the LED diode will not be lit. In applications with direct voltage it is necessary to keep the polarity of the positive pole, marked on the terminal block. RSP 4 terminal blocks can be mounted on DIN rails TS 15, TS 35. Fixed connecting bridge It is used for the permanent connection of adjoining terminal blocks in a terminal board. It is supplied together with the required adapters and screws. A space of the width of one terminal block must be left between the jumpers of different polarity and different poles, respectively. Disconnectable connecting bridge It is used for a disconnectable connection of adjoining terminal blocks. It is supplied together with the required adapters and screws. The terminal blocks of different polarity, different poles and different circuits, respectively, must be separated at the of a connecting bridge to ensure a safe distance during their use. Terminal boards are composed of terminal blocks RS 1, RS 25, RS 5. Terminals boards are located on the DIN rail TS 35, the of which depends on the type of terminal board. 16 General information - terminal boards Terminal boards for devices and rising mains Our terminal boards for devices and rising mains are manufactured from a variety of materials in order to ensure reliable operation under all conditions: Material - thermoplast º with permanent heat resistance 1 C º pre pracovné prostredie od 25 C do 4 C º with short-term heat resistance 14 C º with hot wire resistance 85 C Material - thermoset Ceramic material º with permanent heat resistance 11 C º with short-term heat resistance 14 C Material for terminals º Brass material º Brass material galvanically modified Terminal strips Terminal strip type TYP 6336 xy, 12 poles It is mainly used in industrial distributions in compliance with. They are also designed for home use by EN , which sets out the torque of screw terminals. Terminal strip type TYP ,12 poles The case of the terminal board is made from pressed thermoset. Ceramic terminal blocks Ceramic terminal blocks for devices are widely used in the connection of electric devices and in the distributors with a higher working temperature (up to 11 C; up to 14 C short-term). TYPES MP, MP, , Ceramic terminal blocks are manufactured in 4-and 6-pole modifications. Surface-treated terminal bridges made of brass are riveted on the body of terminal board. There are two fastening screw openings in the body. Terminal block for lighting fittings TYPE , Terminal block for lighting fittings have been designed or the connection in light distributions. Their ceramic case contains two (or three) bushing terminals in profile openings. The number of bushing terminals corresponds to the number of poles. There is one (or two) fastening opening(s) of ø 3,5 mm in the case. Lighting fittings connections TYPE 611-6, , Lighting fitting connections are used for the connection in electric light installations. The ceramic case contains 1-3 bushing terminals in profile openings. The number of bushing terminals corresponds to the number of poles. Terminal boards for rising mains They are used to connect branches to rising mains. All the s consist of the main body made from thermoplastic (from pressed thermoset in type ), which carries appropriate terminal H-bridges. Each bridge contains one transition splice clamp for the connection of main without its interruption and four bushing terminals. Terminal board for rising mains TYPE HSV 35, SV 35, HSV 35 K, SVK 35 Terminal board HSV 35 is supplied in four-pole modification and terminal board SV 35 in single pole modification. Terminal boards HSV 35 and SV 35 may be joined to blocks to obtain a five-pole formation usable in a five-pole installation system. The construction of main board enables the fastening of terminal board to a pad by M5 screws or by sliding it on a shaped DIN rail TS 35. HSV 35 K is in fact an HSV 35 terminal board with a sealable cover made from transparent plastic, with openings for the measuring needle measurement, and with the degree of protection IP 2 after of all the s and terminals have been connected. SVK 35 is in fact an SV 35 terminal board with a sealable cover made from transparent plastic, with openings for the measuring needle measurement, and with the degree of protection IP 2 after of all the s and terminals have been connected. Using SV 35 as a fifth pole, it is necessary to re-label sign PEN to N on HSV 35 and label the pole of SV 35 as PE. Terminal board for rising mains TYPE HSV 95, SV 95, HSV 95 K, SVK 95 Terminal board HSV 95 is supplied in four-pole modification and terminal board SV 95 in single pole modification. Terminal boards HSV 95 and SV 95 may be joined to blocks to obtain a five-pole formation usable in a five-pole installation system. The construction of main board enables the fastening of terminal board to a pad by M5 screws or by sliding it on a shaped DIN rail TS 35. The terminal board may be secured against drawing-out by a plastic bayonet joint. Using SV 95 as a fifth pole, it is necessary to re-label sign PEN to N on HSV 95 and label the pole of SV 95 as PE. Terminal board for rising mains TYPE The terminals in terminal board may be fastened parallelly or diagonally in a number corresponding to the number of main s. Equipotential terminal board EVP-S, EVP-SK According to the new norms STN , the equalisation of potential is required with the installation of electric consumers which protects from electric current injuries. It is achieved by the mutual connection of conductive non-live parts of the device and foreign conductive parts by a of prescribed cross section. The main connection is established in each building and in each object by a mutual conductive connection of the following elements: º protection of the network; º grounding supply or main protective terminal; º conductive pipeline and pipes leading into the object (gas, water, heating, air-conditioning, etc.); º aerials, telephone devices. The equipotential terminal board has been designed for main and also complementary connection in both home and industrial distributions. The connecting part of terminal board consists of brass bridge with steel terminals and splice for the fixation of main grounding or the steel rope. The terminals are mechanically secured against fall-out. The whole bridge is fixed in two insulation cases made from thermoplastic. The terminal board may be fastened in several ways: º to rail Din TS 35; º by two screws of ø 5 x 3 through the bridge and the insulation case; º by four screws of ø 4 x 1 through the insulation case.
