3 LP Couplings Application Low Pressure connections for Structured Wall Pipes (SWP) and Concrete Pipes Simple Installation Simply cut pipes to length, push the rubber seal on, position pipe ends together and tighten the bolts. The vulcanized full circumferential rubber seal ensures a leak proof joint. The Stainless Steel straps compress the rubber seal onto the pipe ensuring a permanent corrosion free connection. 6 Weholite Coupling - DN280 to DN3000mm Specifications The image below shows a typical connection between a structured wall pipe and a flanged pipe of dissimilar material. The structured wall pipe (SWP) plain end (1) is connected by an LP Coupling (2) to a rolled can (3) with outside diameter matching that of the SWP pipe. The rolled can is supplied welded to a flanged stub pipe (4) complete with flange drilling required The image below shows a typical connection between two different structured wall pipes, such as a Weholite pipe and a Starway pipe. A stepped rolled can is supplied with two plain ends, each end matching one of the structured wall pipe outside diameters. The rolled can is positioned between the two SWP pipe and joined with respective Weholite and Starway LP Couplings. The Weholite pipe plain end (1) is connected by an LP Coupling (2) to a stepped rolled can (3). The Starway pipe plain (5) end is connected by a Starway Coupling (4) to the opposing end of the stepped rolled can (3) G6

9 Starway Coupling - DN200 to DN2200mm Specifications Starway Pipe Starway Pipe is a Steel Reinforced Spirally Wound PE Drainage and Sewer Pipe. The profiles are spirally wound and then fusion-welded by HDPE melt at the profile edges which are overlapped by a winding and welding machine to form the pipe. The pipe is of a spiral structure with concentric steel reinforced HDPE ribs. Starway Coupling The Starway Coupling is manufactured specifically to join Starway pipe and can not be used on any other pipe material. The Coupling is generally used for joining pipes up to DN800mm but can be used for larger diameters. Pipes > DN800 are electrofusion jointed. The Starway Coupling joint consists of three layers: 1. The inner layer is a thin wall rubber sleeve 2. The middle layer is a layer of elastic foam 3. The outer layer is the stainless steel casing. The standard Starway Coupling width is 300mm. 400mm Wide couplings are available on request. BOLT TORQUE on stainless steel GR304 bolts: M8 bolt torque = 20Nm.
