Example: 3 Steps x 4 6 Available with raceways and end caps INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS StepLITE can be mounted directly to concrete or wood. All wiring is enclosed inside raceways for step to step connections. Provide run lengths at time of order plus 3 to 6 for field adjusting or cutting if exact dimensions are not known. (Contractor responsible for any incorrect dimensions provided) StepLITE is suitable for indoor (dry) location. ELECTRICAL Low voltage fixture requires a remote driver. CALCULATE LOAD (DRIVER / POWER SUPPLY) To calculate transformers size find lamp or LED wattage. Example: LED-3.0K is.5 Watts each Determine lamps spacing and lamps per foot. Example: 2 on center, divide 12 by 2 = 6 Lamps per foot Determine length in feet. Example: 4 x 10 Steps = 40 Calculate Load: Multiply lamp or LED wattage x lamps per foot x length in feet. Example:.5W x 6 lamps x 40 = 120 Watts Choose transformer from catalog. Example: 150 Determine maximum distance using Maximum Wire Length Table (pg. 12). 4 4 of 10 Application Guidelines REQUIRES A TEAM EFFORT TO ENSURE SECURE AND CORRECT INSTALLATION Apply pressure to lightstrip, ensuring adherence to surface 45 Feed from wire puller stand One person on one end applies pressure to lightstrip, securing it to channel Another person unreels lightstrip from spool, holding it at a 45 angle IMPORTANT NOTE TO AVOID COLOR SHIFT: Do not paint on or over fixture lens or LEDs. Paint or any other substance on lens or LEDs will cause a shift in color temperature. Soffit must be painted evenly with a neutral white to avoid color shift.

5 5 of 10 Mounting Fixture (Dry Location) 1. Measure area where will be installed. RECOMMENDATION: Use chalk line to ensure a straight installation. 2. Place adhesive in a zig zag fashion along the underside of extrusion, then lay extrusion along chalk line and ensure it is secured in place. NOTE: Surface must be flat and free of dirt and debris. Apply lightstrip to channel 5. To prepare power connector, strip 14/2 flat conductor with a utility knife, then twist each conductor outward using needle nose pliers. Connect terminal power connectors into each conductor. Apply adhesive 3. Drill countersink holes as needed, then screw channel to surface. NOTE: Surface must be flat. Snap lens cover into base, overlapping lenses with extrusions. Ensure cover is snapped securely in place. Overlap lens where two extrusions meet. 4. Remove film from double-sided tape, then apply lightstrip to channel. NOTE: Follow application guidelines on page 4 to ensure correct installation. Remove film to expose adhesive surface

Troubleshoot Good If a conductive path is formed between positive and negative wire, the multimeter will beep. You need to trouble shoot to find the short. 7 TROUBLESHOOT Do not reset breaker multiple times. If the unit is overloaded the breaker will trip shutting off the transformer and lights. If the breaker reset button has been held down by hand or any type of pressure (example: duct tape), or if the breaker has been reset multiple times without trouble shooting, the unit will: - Burn the transformer bobbin - Burn the thermal or magnetic breaker - Burn the primary or secondary wires due to high amperage caused by overload and/ or short circuit in line which will not allow the breaker to reset - Damage the lighting 7 of 10 Troubleshooting 4c. Check if cut is clean and not frayed, causing positive and negative copper pads to touch. 4d. Ensure the run is not too long and overlapping. Frayed end 1. Check that voltage does not exceed 12VDC. 2. Ensure that boost wire on the transformer is not connected. This wire is incompatible with aislelite products. Lightstrip overlapping extrusion 4e. Surges in the power grid will cause voltage fluctuations and harm LED longevity. 4. Check for short circuits. Short circuits will increase the amperage of the LEDs and cause them to fail. 4a. Turn off power before beginning. Check for any twisting or damage to the circuit in the LED lightstrip. If there is excessive damage and circuit is broken, the lightstrip must be replaced. 5. Ensure that maximum number of lamps has not been exceeded. See page 2 features for max lamps. 6. After previous items have been thoroughly inspected, perform continuity test on page 9. A transformer dissipates less than 20% of the connected load as heat. Added together,the lamp load and the transformer loss determine the dimmer capacity required.
