4 Centa Transmissions is an independent mechanical power transmission company specialising in the supply of engineered precision positioning and power transmission drive solutions for a wide range of industrial, precision automation and processing drive applications. INDUSTRIAL CYCLOIDAL SPEED REDUCERS Highly efficient co-axial units which, size-for-size, transmit higher output torques than the equivalent helical or worm gear unit, often permitting a smaller and lower cost cycloidal unit to be specified. Ideally suited to heavy duty applications due to its high peak shock load capability of up to 500%. The design enables high reduction ratios (up to 119:1 in a single stage) to be supplied in very compact dimensions. All units are available as foot or flange mounting and can be supplied with or without motors. Nominal torque range: 20 Nm 68,000 Nm Reduction ratios from: 6:1 Infinity INDUSTRIAL PLANETARY GEARBOXES Available in both co-axial and right angled configurations, the planetary system is particularly suitable for high torque, low speed applications. It is extremely price competitive against other gear systems and offers high efficiency with minimum dimensions. Multiple input and output drive configurations available. Nominal torque range: 430 Nm 600,000 Nm Reduction ratios from: 3.2:1 Infinity SPIRAL BEVEL GEARBOXES Available in twelve sizes each of which use a standardised modular cube allowing the compact external dimensions to remain the same, irrespective of the reduction ratio. Universal mounting on any of the six faces is permissible, with the added option of mounting feet. Outputs available with solid, hollow shaft or shrink disc output. Inputs can be primary or hollow shaft with flange for electric motors. Low backlash units are offered in most sizes. Nominal torque range: 8 Nm 14,324 Nm Reduction ratios from: 1:1 6:1 PRECISION PLANETARY SERVOGEAR UNITS Designed as planetary gearheads for stepper and servomotors or supplied as selfcontained gearboxes with primary inputshaft. Centa Servogear units are ideal for highly dynamic, high accuracy positioning drive applications where low inertia and high torsional stiffness are essential requirements. Nominal torque range: 0.2 Nm 16,000 Nm Reduction ratios from: 3:1 10,000:1 Backlash: From economy cost saving range to high precision units down to <0.5 arc min PRECISION CYCLOIDAL SPEED REDUCERS The zero backlash cycloidal speed reducers are ultraslim, highly accurate and capable of accepting high shock loads making them ideal for highly dynamic, precision positioning for robotic and similar applications. The units are fully compatible with robotic design practice incorporating many benefits, including: - zero backlash, small hysteresis loss, compact size, high torsional stiffness, low moment of inertia, high shock load capacity & high efficiency. Nominal torque range: 111 Nm 6,140 Nm Reduction ratios from: 29:1 179:1 Backlash: Zero Backlash High Torsional Stiffness PRECISION CYCLOIDAL/PLANETARY ZEROGEAR COMBINATION The design combines the balanced torque reaction forces of precision planetary gears and their ability to accept modern servomotor inputs, with the high torsional stiffness, high torque, and high overload capacity of a zero backlash cycloidal speed reducer output. This combination offers an extremely compact, highly dynamic, co-axial or right-angle drive unit, where backlash remains at zero throughout the lifetime of the drive, which makes it ideal for machine tool and satellite tracking applications. Nominal torque range: 111 Nm 6,140 Nm Reduction ratios from: 87:1 100,000:1 Backlash: Zero Backlash High Torsional Stiffness PLANETARY/CYCLOIDAL MULTIGEAR COMBINATION Designed specifically for high torque, low power, low speed drive applications. The units combine the high torque, low speed, low ratio characteristics of a planetary gear input with the high speed, high reduction ratio characteristic of a cycloidal drive. This combination offers a very cost effective, compact, low weight solution. The units can also be supplied with a mechanical torque limiter built into the assembly close to the final drive to give reliable and sensitive overload protection, as conventional overload protection adjacent to the motor is ineffective on this type of drive.
