1. Safety Precautions! This equipment can be remote controlled and contains current-carrying parts and mechanical elements moving at high speed. The non compliance with these safety precautions may result in severe physical and property damages. Carefully read this manual before proceeding to any handling, operation or maintenance action. The equipments described in this manual have been designed and tested to operate within their rated values. Their use out of those values may result in maloperations which may cause severe physical and property damages. In the cubicles with withdrawable circuit breakers: -Never proceed to checking s on the circuit breaker control (in the cubicles with circuit breakers) when it is closed or when the locking springs are charged. The circuit breaker should be open and the locking springs should be discharged. (See DIVAC Instruction Manual, Tab I-A) - Always leave the circuit breaker either on Service or Test Position, and never in an intermediate position in the cubicle. - Do not use the circuit breaker as the only way to break the circuit in service. Place it also on test position. - Withdraw the circuit breaker from the cubicle before proceeding to any maintenance action. The good performance and the life time of the circuit breaker depend on its correct application, installation and maintenance. Check that these operations are carried out by qualified personnel only, duly aware of precautions and instructions contained in this manual and acquainted with installation and maintenance of Medium Voltage nets and equipments. The circuit breakers are equipped with several security interlocks allowing a simple and safe use. Do not force them. The assembly is fixed over the bottom plates as shown in sketch, with 2 screws M8x50, 1 nut A, M8H and 1 washer CFA 8; - Connect the cables screen plaits to the cables screen plates. In case of 4 cables/phase assembly, insert 3 double punching bottom plates (7) between the two side plates. 4 - SETTING TO WORK 4.1- General The Normacel cubicles are mechanically and electrically inspected before despatch. If the equipment should be stored in a damp spot, it is recommended to warm up the premises or to feed the cubicles heating elements, if supplied, during 24 hours before setting to work. In any case it is necessary to carry out a certain number of checking procedures before any operation: - Checking of the withdrawable circuit-breaker, in particular the contact fingers; - The ease of the plugging/unplugging operations; - Operation of the mechanical interlocks; - Before connecting the cables, measure the insulation resistance of the switchboard with a megaohmimeter (Disconnect any existing external circuits). - Proper execution of the cable connections; - Absence of any strange object inside the cubicles. Do not try under any circumstance to operate a lever or link inside the control mechanism, if either the dosing spring is armed, either the circuit-breaker is closed (opening spring armed) or if the LV feeding circuits are not interrupted (AC or DC). For greater safety, remove the fuses from the recharging motor of the control mechanism. If necessary perform a triple manual operation, opening - closing - opening, to disarm the opening and closing springs of the control mechanism. For any intervention on the circuit-breaker or its control mechanism, look it up in the respective manual. 31

4.2 - Voltage feeding For the first voltage feeding of the switchboard proceed as following description: - Make sure all the circuit-breakers are open and in the sectioning position, the earthing switches are open and the cable access panels are fastened. First incoming cubicle: - Feed the cables. Check if the neon lamps from the voltage indicator case lighten; - Feed the busbar by plugging, locking and closing the circuit-breaker (see "Operation" chapter). Second incoming cubicle: - Feed the cables. Check if the neon lamps from the voltage indicator case lighten; - Check if the incoming supplies are in phase. To check the good performance of the phase agreement case, connect the case between the two phases of the first incoming: The lamp should lighten. - Insert the phase agreement case in the upper socket (L1) of the voltage indicator case of one of the cubicles; - Insert the male plug of the phase agreement case's wire in the upper socket (L1) of the voltage indicator case of the other cubicle. If there is a phase agreement the neon lamp of the phase agreement case does not lighten; - Repeat the same operations for phases L2 and L3. Legend: Fig 34 Frontal control panel of Normacel Incoming/Outgoing cubicle 1 - Door locker of the circuit-breaker compartment 2 - inserting hole for the maneuver lever of the earthing switch 3 - Mimic diagram of the earthing switch condition (Open/Closed) 4 - Anti-return handle 5 - Earthing switch key lock in the closed position 6 - Earthing switch key lock in the opened position 7 - Voltage indicators 8 - Interdiction lock for the circuit-breaker insertion in the cubicle 9 - Coupling Latches of the transport carriage to the cubicle 5.2- Operation of the circuit-breaker compartment The Circuit-breaker has 2 working positions: - Plugged in (Service Position) - Withdrawn (Test Position) Operation of the circuit-breaker at the cubicle Placing the movable part in the service position The circuit-breaker movable part can be leaded to the service position both with the circuit-breaker compartment door closed and opened, see photographs 35 and 36. To insert the circuit-breaker (with the door open), use the lever referred in the Accessories section, inserting the tool in the square head of the worm screw and while pressing, rotate the tool clockwise. See Fig 35. Note: Placing the circuit-breaker in the service position with the door closed is identical to the open door situation, having now to insert the lever through the door hole. See Fig

Fig 35 - Circuit-breaker movable part with the compartment door opened Fig 36 - Circuit-breaker movable part with the compartment door closed The signal that the circuit-breaker arrived its inserted position is signalized by the "click" that sounds in the clutch when the lever turns in false. INTERLOCKINGS The circuit-breaker can not be leaded to the service position if: a) The earthing switch is closed. Otherwise, when the circuit-breaker starts its movement, there is a interlock that acts on the clutch, preventing the circuit-breaker insertion; b) The LV plug is not pulled in. The associated interlock provokes the clutch actuation, preventing thus the circuit-breaker insertion, c) It's closed. When trying to insert it closed, an interlock provokes its tripping, just after the start of the movement; Operating sequence to place the circuit-breaker in the service, position 1º- Assure that the earthing switch is open; 2º- Assure that the LV plug is pulled in. See Fig 38 To pull in the LV plug, push the interlocking piece and pull in the plug. After pulled in rotate the plug fixation lever and let the interlocking piece return to the initial position; 3º- Assure that the circuit-breaker is opened; 4 - Insert the circuit-breaker. 34

Placing the movable part in the test position To place the circuit-breaker in the test position makes use of the same lever used to place it in the service position. The rotation direction is for the left (the reverse of the insertion). As in placing in service, the signal that the circuit-breaker arrived its test position is signalized by the "click" that sounds in the clutch when the lever turns in false. To remove de circuit-breaker, there must be previously the care of opening it. Otherwise the circuit-breaker will trip before the start of the withdrawal movement Operating the circuit-breaker out of the cubicle Placing the circuit-breaker inside the cubicle To place the circuit-breaker inside the cubicle, use the transport carriage referred in the «Accessories» section. Operating sequence for the circuit-breaker insertion in the cubicle - After placing the circuit-breaker upwards the transport carriage, move it up to the circuit-breaker compartment, - Open the circuit-breaker compartment door - See Fig 37; - Connect the transport carriage to the cubicle. Tighten the latches (located at the side handles) and make them fit in the cubicle spangles. In case the latches do not easily fit or the circuit-breaker is over or under the circuit-breaker compartment level, the transport carriage levelers must be rotated - See Fig 42 e 64; - Uncouple the circuit-breaker transport carriage. Move the circuit-breaker inside the cubicle and couple the circuit-breaker latches in the cubicle - See Fig 40 and 41; - Uncouple the transport carriage of the cubicle tightening the appropriated latches. Fig 37 Circuit-breaker compartment door Fig 38 LV circuit-breaker connection 35

Fig 39 Circuit-breaker transport carriage connect to the cubicle Fig 40 Extract the circuit-breaker up to the transport carriage Fig 41 Extract the circuit-breaker from the cubicle Fig 42 Extract the circuit-breaker from the cubicle 36

Withdrawing the circuit-breaker out of the cubicle The operating sequence is like placing the circuit-breaker inside Withdrawing operating sequence - Open the circuit-breaker compartment door - Couple the transport carriage with the cubicle (Fig. 39) - Pull circuit-breaker upwards transport carriage and connect the clicks (fig. 40 e 41) - Remove the transport carriage (fig. 42) Removal impediment / Circuit-breaker insertion in the cubicle An optional interlock against circuit-breaker insertion exist. Fig 43 Interlock against Circuit-breaker insertion Circuit-breaker manual rearming (Emergency control) Without voltage in the electrical motor of the control mechanism, or during mechanical tests, the circuit-breaker rearming can be done manually with an emergency crank handle, making suave vertical movements, in any position of the circuit-breaker. The crank handle must be removed before the electrical closing of the circuit-breaker. To connect the circuit-breaker set the green button - See Fig 46 To disconnect the circuit-breaker set the red button - See Fig 47 37

5.3 - Voltage Transformers exploration Normacel cubicles are able to use fixed or withdrawable voltage transformers Withdrawable Transformers Withdrawable transformers can be moved with voltage in the cubicle. The down picture represents the VT s truck Fig 48 Withdrawable truck-mounted voltage transformers Placing VT s in the operating position For the insertion of VT s the door must be closed Fig 49 Voltage Transformers in the operating position 39

Fig 50 Withdrawn Voltage Transformer position For the VT s insertion use the correct crank handle indicated in the acessories. The insertion is like the circuit-breaker. After begin the insertion, the door is interlocked so can't be opened. In picture 51 we can see the insertion of VT s to the operating position in a cable compartment and in the 52 in a busbar compartment (of a busbar coupler cubicle). Fig 51 Insertion of Cables VT s Fig 52 Insertion of Busbar VT s Placing VT's in the test position To place the VT's in the test position must use the same crank handle, but now with a inverse rotation To open the door compartment, the VT's must be in the test position Fuses changing Sequence operation for the changing - Place the VT's in the withdrawn position - Remove the voltage compartment door (Fig 53) - Remove the insulating PVC protections (Fig 54) - Fuses changing (Fig 55) - Replace the Insulating PVC protections in the same position and tigthen the screws. 40

Fig 53 Cables compartment door opening Fig 54 Fuses changing Fig 55 Fuse changing 41

5.3.2 Fixed Voltage Transformers In this version we can have fuses or not and to open the transformer door compartment the earthing switch must be closed. Fuses changing: - Put the cubicle out of service disconnecting the circuit-breaker. - Place the circuit-breaker in the test position. - Close the earthing switch. - Open the door compartment. - Remove the insulating PVC protection. - Change the fuses. - Replace the PVC protections in the rigth position and tighten the screws. - Close the door. - Open the earthing switch. - Setting the cubicle to work again 42

5.4 - Earthing switch manoeuvre The earthing switch mouvement is independent of the operator action. Interloking The earthing switch can't be closed if : - circuit breaker isn't in the test position; - Key interlock isn't in the open position, (in the cubicles with this option). Fig 56 ES in open position Introduce handle to close the ES Fig 57 ES open position interlock Fig 58 ES in close position The handle position to open the ES Fig 59 ES close position interlock 43

Sequence operations Earthing switch closing: - Check if the circuit breaker is in the test position; - Check if the earthing switch isn't interlocked in the opened position (Fig 57); - Introduce the operating handle in the opening, with the extremity turned up (Fig 56); - Push down and maintain during the beginning of the earthing switch closing, the anti-return handle, placed by the side of the opening (Fig 56); - Turn around the operating handle with the clock pointers orientation; - Must be a complete mouvement with approximately 180º (Fig 58); - Take out the operating handle. Earthing switch opening: - Check if the earthing switch isn't interlocked in the closed position; - Introduce the operating handle in the opening, with the extremity turned down (Fig 58); - Push down and maintain during the beginning of the earthing switch openning, the antireturn handle, placed by the side of the opening (Fig 56); - Turn around the operating handle with the clock pointers contrary orientation; - Must be a complete mouvement with approximately 180º (Fig 58); - Take out the operating handle. 6 - MAINTENANCE For all instructions referring to maintenance of circuit-breaker or control mechanism, report to correspondent instructions manuals Cleaning of the circuit-breaker chambers - It is advisable to clean the outside of the circuit-breaker chambers when the switchgear truck is withdrawn; - Clean the dust with a dry cloth or slightly soaked in a degreasing agent ( trichloretane, for example) in case of being much greasy; - The cleaning frequency must be deternined according to the atmospheric pollution of the environment which may considerably from one place to another; - In case the circuit-breaker chambers are much dirty then it is advisable to verify the other circuit-breakers and their cleaning if dirty; Changing the transformation ratio of the Current Tranformers The changing of the CT s ratio can be done in two different ways, depending on type transformers: - Primary serial/parallel connection. Must access the cable compartment. - By secondary tapping. Changing must be done in the low voltage compartment. 44

6.3 - Voltage Transformers fuse replacement See Fuses changing Cleaning and lubrication - Electrical contacts: The sectioning contacts are prepared in the factoty. In normal operating conditions they do not need to be lubricated again. In case of severe operating conditions ( corrosive atmosphere, dust, frequent plugging and unplugging, etc.) we advise that the condition of the parts should be checked once a year, cleaned and lubricated if necessary. For that purpose: Degrease completely using a solvent of the tetrachloretane type (under no circunstance should a detergente be used); Lubrify with a thin layer of neutral vaseline. To avoid over-lubrication: Lubrify the plug-in contacts but not the contact fingers; Clean the excess of vaseline with a dry cloth. - Articulated mechanical parts lubrication. Reference of the suitable products Product Type Reference Contactal grease (electrical parts) Neutral industrial vaseline Contactal Neutral industrial vaseline Molybdenum Disulphide grease (Mechanical parts) Lubrymoly M1Type Solvent - 45

6.5- Checking the conditions of the earthing switches contacts The earthing switches contacts do not suffer any erosion in normal operation.however, if a closing operation is made onto a short-circuit with a high fault current peak, or some operations with a medium value current, it is necessary to check the state of the contacts and remove any pearling with a soft emery paper. 7. Acessories Earthing switch operating handle - See Fig Crank handle for withdrawable circuitbreaker and Voltage transformers trucks - See Fig 61. Fig Keys for interlocking the earthing switch, withdrawable part (optional)-see Fig 62. Fig 61 Fig 62 46

7.4 - Circuit-breaker truck transport carriage One circuit-breaker transport carriage by Normabloc. To introduce or remove the circuit-breaker, should couple the transport carriage to the cubicle, introducing the interlock clicks. Only after that, be able to introduce or remove the circuit-breaker. Interlocking If the couple isn t correct, a interlock impede the circuit-breaker mouvement on the transport carriage - See Fig 63. Fig Circuit-breaker manually rearming handle - See Fig 64.
