6 MECHANICAL STRUCTURE Circuit Breaker Compartment EMC24-18A-334 (12-24 kv 25 ka 2500 A) BUS RISER (OUTLET FROM SIDE) All products are maintenance-free as durable Elimsan Vacuum Circuit Breakers are used. Rotary arc (arc turns in the contact structure) is used. All switching operations are performed when the medium voltage door is closed. Pressure relief upwards. It is an electro-static powder paint coated. Earthed metal shutter, providing the partition class PM. In case of an internal arc the circuit breaker compartment door panel is in pressure-resistant structure. Control cables runs at side of enclosure through metal channels. Lock between the door and circuit breaker compartment provides controlled access. Circuit Breaker compartment allows for different types of panels to host the following components: - Vacuum circuit breakers - Disconnector truck - Voltage Transformer Truck Main Busbar Compartment Nominal current sequence that includes the busbar up to 2500A. The busbars are mounted on top of the standard epoxy resin insulators. Busbar splitting should pass with success, the power frequency voltage withstand test. Pressure relief upwards. Bushing. The main busbars are made of flat copper, steel bolted from panel to panel. With plates running from board to board allow closure of the main busbar compartment. The transition between the bars made with wall bushings. Bolted top covers provide access with tool. EMC24-32A-334 (12-24 kv 25 ka 2500 A) COUPLING (OUTLET FROM SIDE)

7 Cable Compartment Earthing switch, current transformer and some types includes voltage transformers and surge arrestors. Through the back pressure channel upward pressure release. Three-core and single-core cables suitable to connect. 3x300 mm² cable could be used. Grounding busbar. Access to voltage transformer, via a grounded metal shutter respecting the PM class. Fast earthing switch - manual or motor operating system in addition to the standard interlocking system between breaker truck and earthing switch, optional padlock or use of electromagnetic locking. Circuit Breaker Truck Frame, bolted to a sturdy structure made of steel sheet. 4 NO + 4 NC auxiliary contacts in the truck mechanism indicates the truck service and test positions. Panel door and lock earthing switch is available. 25 ka silver-plated tulip contacts in 3s. Components In The Panel (optional) Circuit Breaker and earthing switch with motor operating. Single-core XLPE cables: Max 3 x 300 mm2 per phase. Coupling electrode for capacitive voltage detection Voltage transformers - cast-resin insulated - Max. 3x1- pole Fixed or mounted Surge arresters - protection of the switchgear against external overvoltage Voltage Transformer Compartment Earthed metal shutters PM partitioning Interlooking system between voltage transformer truck and earthing switch Voltage transformer truck Interlocking system between voltage transformer truck and compartment door. Low Voltage Cables Low-voltage cables are flexible and placed in metallic channel. Connection between low-voltage switchgear is carried out with the passing cable and 32-pin plug connectors in flexible metal conduit. Connection between panels is plug in type. Interlocks Interlocking conditions are satisfied according to IEC Earthing switch can only be operated with circuit breaker truck in test position. Circuit breaker truck can not be moved to service position if earth switch is closed. Circuit breaker truck can only be moved with circuit breaker OPEN and earthing switch OPEN Interlocking of high voltage door against circuit breaker truck. The high voltage door can only be opened when the circuit breaker truck is in test position. Optional: Electromagnetic interlocks Optional: Mechanical key lock (based on interlocking scenarios) Padlock system on voltage transformer truck Earthing switch and voltage transformer compartment door locking. Earthing switch and cable compartment door locking Earthing switch and circuit breaker compartment doors locking. Interlocking of voltage transformer truck against earthing switch an compartment door. Low Voltage Cabinet Includes protection control and measuring equipment. Medium voltage of the board is divided as safe to touch and reach is seperated from medium voltage side. Connection is made with plug connectors to switch truck. All interlocking systems are mechanical. This feature provides easy accessibility as it can be intervened in power failure case.

The switchgear panel operates with high performance at naturally ventilated substations with out air conditioning till 40 C. Locked switching centers without outside public access (such as switchgear building and distribution center). The right of access should be given to suitably qualified and competent person on the subject. Untrained and inexperienced people may enter the premises under the supervision of compotent and appropriately trained experts. As per IEC / EN and IEC / TS with current carrying capacity according to EN standard, based on the following ambient temperatures: - Maximum 24-hour mean + 35 C - Maximum +40 C Current carrying capacity of the panels and busbars depends on the ambient temperature outside the enclosure. Chemically active pollutants Small animals Solids Working Conditions Ambient temperature: Max under the corresponding rated current 40 C Max: -25 C No dust, flammable / corrosive gases, vapours, smoking and salty conditions. Humidity: - Average relative humidity over a period of 24 hours: 95% - The average steam pressure in a 24 hour period: max.2.2 kpa - 1 month average relative humidity: 90% Elevation: 1000 m above sea level atmospheric conditions related to hpa + 20 C, 11 g / m3 of water - Above 1000 m, derating factor is applied. Conditions: Quick grounding switches are earthing switches which have making short-circuit capacity according to IEC standard. Internal Arc Classification The safety of personnel is verified by internal arc fault test. Internal arc testing was performed in accordance with IEC EMC 24 Series Metal Clad Switchgear Panels of 25 ka, 1s internal arc classification and with a guarantee of success criteria specified in the mentioned standards 1 to 5. Thus, maximum personnel safety is ensured. Definitions of the criteria: - Criterion 1: Correctly secured doors and covers do not open. Limited deformations are accepted. - Criterion 2: It is not permissible to break away from the body. Weight up to 60 g is considered ejection of small parts. - Criterion 3: Up to 2 m height, does not cause holes in the accessible sides arc. - Criterion 4: Indicators should not be burning under the influence of hot gases. - Criterion 5: The enclosure remains connected to its earthing point after the test.
