Deutsch connectors are available in rectangular and cylindrical body shapes and feature : - Wide operating temperature range. - Secure locking mechanisms. - Positive contact retention system. Common Contact System The Deutsch Industrial Common Contact System is a unique system of interchangeable and intermateable contacts that can be used in many Deutsch Industrial connectors. Contacts are available in Solid or Stamped & Formed (F-Crimp) styles, with plating options including gold or nickel. Easy-to-use indent crimpers create a gas tight crimp that is resistant to oxidation. This high-quality crimp allows Deutsch contacts to provide reliable, low resistance power and data transmission. Stamped and Formed (F-Crimp) Solid Deutsch silicone seals and grommets fit tightly around the wire insulation and at the connector interface to provide redundant barriers to contamination. In order to create a reliable environmental seal and ensure continuity of flow, Deutsch seals: - Are resistant to most common industrial and engine fluids. - Retain their flexibility across a wide temperature range. - Never require potting or dielectric grease. With integrated seals that are designed to work with multiple wire gauges, Deutsch connectors simplify design and inventory management, and provide exceptional performance in critical environments.

The 3 modified DT series connector housings with suffix E005, EP06 & EP08 are typically referred to as CAT-Spec, short for CATERPILLAR Specification. These modified DT series connector housings are used on most Caterpillar mining machinery as an OEM standard connector. At a glance, they are black, include improved seal retention on the plug (DT06 side, by using the P012 wedge lock), and a cap on the rear of the housing to retain the connectors rear wire seal. Raise selector knob and rotate until arrow is aligned with contact size to be crimped. 3. Loosen locknut, turn adjusting screw in until it stops. Step 2 Insert contact with barrel up. Turn adjusting screw counter clockwise until contact is flush with indenter cover. Tighten locknut. Step 3 1. Insert wire into contact, ensuring there are no stray wire strands. Contact must be centred between indenters. Close handles until crimp cycle is completed. 2. Release handles and remove crimped contact. Crimping with the HDT Step 1 1. Ensure tool is reset by completely depressing handles. 2. Strip insulation from wire. 3. Position the contact into the matching sized grove, see markings 20, 18, 12. Step 2 1. Make sure the shoulder of the contact is flush on the outside of the crimping tool. 2. Depress handles until contact is held but not crimped. Step 3 Place the stripped end of the wire in the crimp barrel, ensuring there are no stray wire strands, and fully depress tool handles. 43

Step 2 Slide tool along the wire into the insert cavity until it engages the contact and resistance is felt. Step 3 Pull contact wire assembly out of connector. DET-RT Multi-use Tool Removing Internal Wedgelocks Step 1 Use the end of the tool to hook the wedgelock as shown.
