(Refer to the Step Reference Table below to locate the appropriate step(s) for the tubes being replaced.) NOTE: You will need to measure and cut each tube length from the 25 ft lengths of 77 material.

1 This procedure is to help facilitate the replacement of all the 77 tubing on the back of the ANKOM Dietary Fiber Analyzer. Three packages of 77 (25ft each) will be required to replace all the tubing (1/16 ID x 3/16 OD silicone tubing). Follow the steps below to complete this process. (Refer to the Step Reference Table below to locate the appropriate step(s) for the tubes being replaced.) NOTE: You will need to measure and cut each tube length from the 25 ft lengths of 77 material. 2 NOTE: When installing tubing, ensure the tubes are securely attached and covering the barbed fittings. 1. Remove and replace the tubing on the 30 Tubing Supply Panel Assembly. Refer to the chart below for a list of the tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part 30. Once the tubes are replaced, wait to reinstall this part / Tubing Supply Panel Assembly a. 3 b. Disconnect the six 6 bottom 30 tubes from the outward pointing brass (or copper) tubes on the 28/28.1 In-Line Heater. Do NOT disconnect these tubes from the 30 Tubing Supply Panel at this time. 30 tubes (disconnect tube ends attached to 28/28.1) 28/28.1 In-Line Heater c. 4 d. Unscrew the four screws holding the 30 in place on the pinch valve bracket and remove the panel. e. Unscrew the three screws on the clear panel to remove the clear panel bar listing the station numbers in order to access the tubing. Remove and discard the old tubing. 5 f. Position the 30 Support Panel with the holes for the bulk head fittings facing toward you in order to begin installing the new tubes. g. Install the four 2-⅜ tubes in the panel guide vertically at station positions 1 and 6. h. Install the four 4 tubes in the panel guide vertically at station positions 2 and 5. i. Install the four 6 tubes in the panel guide vertically at station positions 3 and 4. j. Install the six 16 tubes into the holes marked by the blue asterisks (organize the ends such that they point outward to the left). k. Install the six 6 tubes (opposite the 16 length) into the holes marked by the yellow arrows. * * * * * * Panel Bottom Lip 2⅜ ⅜ l. Reinstall the clear panel using the three screws. m. 2. Remove and replace the tubes from the 34 N2 Check valves to the IDF/SDF Fill Nozzles.

Remove the twelve 6 silicone tubes from the back of each stainless steel tube and disconnect the opposite end from the N2

Replace the six tubes on the upper Fill Nozzles (IDF), indicated by orange arrows, connecting them to the Tee Fittings off of

7 2. Remove and replace the tubes from the 34 N2 Check valves to the IDF/SDF Fill Nozzles. Refer to the chart below for a list of tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part a. Remove the twelve 6 silicone tubes from the back of each stainless steel tube and disconnect the opposite end from the N2 Check Valve. b. Replace the six tubes on the upper Fill Nozzles (IDF), indicated by orange arrows, connecting them to the Tee Fittings off of the bottom of the N2 Check Valve. c. 3. Remove and replace the tubes from the 29 Pinch Valve Assembly. Refer to the chart below for a list of tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part 29. 29 3-1/4 8.3 12 14 35.6 4 17-5/8 44.

6 4 Attach the following tube lengths to their correct locations on the 29 Pinch Valve Assemblies IDF/SDF: Four pieces of 14 tube lengths; four pieces of 16 tube lengths; four pieces of 17-5/8 tube

8 3. Remove and replace the tubes from the 29 Pinch Valve Assembly. Refer to the chart below for a list of tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part / / Attach the following tube lengths to their correct locations on the 29 Pinch Valve Assemblies IDF/SDF: Four pieces of 14 tube lengths; four pieces of 16 tube lengths; four pieces of 17-5/8 tube lengths; and twelve pieces of 3- ¼ tube lengths. (Example: IDF station #3 connects to the upper N2 Check Valve at position 3.) NOTE: Overall tubing length from the pump to the Fill Nozzle needs to be the same length at each station because the fluids are pumped volumetrically. The varying lengths that you see in this step at each station are made up for in the 30 Tubing Support Panel (addressed in step #1). 9 a. Feed the appropriate tube lengths through the grommets in the side gusset panels. All the tubing that goes to stations 2, 3, 4 & 5 needs to feed through the ¾ black grommet on one of the side gusset panels (image shown below). b. Be sure tubing is coiled and cable-tied before connecting the opposite ends in orderr to keep the tubing organized. Ensure each IDF/SDF tube connects to the remaining barb on the Tee Fitting underneath the appropriate N2 Check Valve. Attach the new tubes (top and bottom) from each station to the appropriately matched barb connecting to both 29 Pinch Valve Assemblies on either side of the 30. Attach the six 6 tubes from the bottom of the 30 to the brass tubes pointing outward at the bottom of the 28/28.1 In-Line Heater. Cable-tie the silicone tubes to the outward pointing brass tubes. 11 d. Attach 16 tubes to the 29.1 Waste Pinch Valve. Cable-tie the six 16 tubes together, being careful not to over tighten the cable-ties and restrict the flow of fluid in the tubes. 5. Remove and replace the tubing on the 29.1 Pinch Valve Assembly Waste. Refer to the chart below for a list of the tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part 29.1. 29.1 3-1/4 8.3 6 19 48.

12 5. Remove and replace the tubing on the 29.1 Pinch Valve Assembly Waste. Refer to the chart below for a list of the tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part / a. Replace the six pieces of 19 tubing on the left side of the 29.1 and feed them through the ⅞ grommet near the bottom of the Right Gusset Panel (left side when viewed from the rear of the instrument). b. Insert the six tubes into their appropriate positions in the order , left to right when facing the back of the instrument. c. Bundle the 19 tubing and secure it with a cable-tie. Trim the excess from the cable tie. 14 6. Remove and replace the tubes on the 47 Enzyme Pinch Valve Assembly. Refer to the chart below for a list of the tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part / a. In order to retract the pistons from pinching the 3-¼ tubing inside the 47 and putting pressure against the bar, follow the steps below: a-1. Turn on the instrument. a-2. Press the Diagnostics button on the Touch Screen Display. a-3. Press the Valve Test button on the Diagnostics Screen. The screen below will be displayed. a-4. Press the Amylase Supply, Protease Supply, and AMG Supply buttons on the Valve Test screen so that (open) shows on each button. 15 b. Unscrew the two screws on the 47 Enzyme Pinch Valve Assembly to remove the bar. Screws 47 Enzyme Pinch Valve Assembly c. Use a dowel or similar object to roll the middle section of each of the three 3-¼ tubes to relax the silicone. This is important to obtain a good seal in the valve. Dowel d. Attach the three pieces of the 3-¼ tubing to the inside of the 47 Enzyme Pinch Valve Assembly. e. Reinstall and secure the bar using the two screws to secure it to the Enzyme Pinch Valve. f. At one end of each of the three 11 tubes, use a dowel to roll over the tubes to relax the silicone.

Replace the 11 lengths connecting the 47 Enzyme Pinch Valve Assembly to the correct Enzyme Container Assemblies

Amylase Protease AMG h. Secure cable ties around the blue E. S. and the black HCl tube.

16 f. At one end of each of the three 11 tubes, use a dowel to roll over the tubes to relax the silicone. This is important to help the tube fit over the larger barbs on parts g. Replace the 11 lengths connecting the 47 Enzyme Pinch Valve Assembly to the correct Enzyme Container Assemblies (35-37). Slide each tube, one at a time, through the blue Expandable Sleeving (E. S.) connecting them to the appropriate enzyme bulkhead fitting barb. Amylase Protease AMG h. Secure cable ties around the blue E. S. and the black HCl tube. Trim the excess from the cable ties. 7. Remove and replace the tubes from the 31 Manifold connecting to the left side gusset panel.

6 6 Replace the six 8-½ tube lengths connecting the tubes from the Upper level of the 31 Manifold to the barbs in the Left Side Gusset Panel

Each tube position should connect to the appropriate gusset panel barb and follow that tube line number to its matching number label (6-1)

18 7. Remove and replace the tubes from the 31 Manifold connecting to the left side gusset panel. Refer to the chart below for a list of the tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in part / Replace the six 8-½ tube lengths connecting the tubes from the Upper level of the 31 Manifold to the barbs in the Left Side Gusset Panel (right side panel when facing the rear of the instrument). Each tube position should connect to the appropriate gusset panel barb and follow that tube line number to its matching number label (6-1) on the 19. Disconnect the three vials and discard the tubing from inside the vials. b. Replace the three 3-3/8 tubes on the inside of the Enzyme Container Assemblies. 20 9. Remove the 19 Pressure Sensor Assembly from its position on the instrument to replace the tubing. Refer to the chart below for a list of the tube lengths you will need to cut and replace in parts / a. Unscrew the screws on the 19 which mount this part to the instrument. b. Replace the six 7 tube lengths on the left side of the 19. c. Replace the six 1-¼ tube lengths on the right side of the 19. d. Secure the 19 in place on the instrument using the screws from step a. e. Reconnect the six 1-¼ tubes to their appropriately matched barbs and the six 7 tubes to the downward pointing brass (or copper) tubes on the 28/28.1 In-Line Heater. f. Secure the tubing around the brass tubes with cable ties.
