1 GENERAL In-Flight Entertainment System 44-20: IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM 1. General This chapter describes the systems, units, and components which provide entertainment to the passengers with music, video, information, games, etc. Includes items such as controllers, cabin control panels, audio and video equipment, etc. This includes the in-flight entertainment system. A. In-Flight Entertainment The In-Flight Entertainment installation consists of cabin overhead display assembly, located on the cabin ceiling, between the airplane door and the egress window. The overhead display assembly consists of a 21.5-inch LCD, three printed circuit board assemblies, an IFE interface panel, and a display control panel for display adjustments. The overhead display assembly also consists of the mounting structure, a hinge, and a latching mechanism to enable the screen to be stowed when not in use. The display control panel is located overhead and is hidden behind the display when the display is closed. The IFE interface panel is located in the RH side seat pocket, below the egress window. The IFE interface panel contains a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) port which provides source content to the LCD and toggle switch. The toggle switch is used to select the audio source between the HDMI port and the MUSIC 2 port. 1
