(b) (c) (d) Loosen friction lock knob so engine control power lever moves as freely. Clean and lubricate exposed surface of control cables. Set engine control power lever to full forward (MAX) position. CAUTION: Maximum pull force required to move engine control power lever from full forward (MAX) to full aft (IDLE) position must not exceed 20 pounds. (e) (f) Connect spring scale to engine control power lever and note force required to pull engine control power lever to full aft (IDLE) position. If pull force is less than 20 pounds, no further testing is required. If pull force is greater than 20 pounds, perform the following steps: Determine which cable is generating excess friction by performing pull test three more times, each time with a different cable disconnected from control quadrant. 2 Replace cable(s) causing excessive friction and repeat pull test until pull force required to move power lever from full forward (MAX) to full aft (IDLE) position does not exceed 20 pounds. Note: Pull force with new cables should not exceed 2 pounds. Engine control power lever must move smooth, without any signs of binding. - Page 3 Jun 20
