1 MODEL SR0 EXTERIOR LIGHTING. DESCRIPTION This section covers that portion of the system which provides illumination outside of the aircraft. This includes the landing light, anti-collision strobe light, recognition light, and ice light. A. Landing Light () Halogen Light - Serials 005 thru 4 A 8-volt, 50-watt, 50,000-candle power halogen landing light is installed in the left air inlet of the engine cowling (Serials 005 thru 47 before SB ), or the lower engine cowling (Serials 48 thru 4, 005 thru 47 after SB ). Serials 005 thru 47 before SB : The light is spring mounted to the engine baffling and is ground adjustable by three mounting screws (Serials 005 thru 47 before SB ) or the light is mounted with two springs and a vibration mount and is ground adjustable by two mounting screws (Serials 005 thru 47 after SB ). Serials 48 thru 4, Serials 005 thru 47 after SB : The light is mounted with a spring and two vibration mounts and is ground adjustable by the upper mounting screw. The landing light is controlled through the LANDING light switch on the instrument panel bolster. The switch energizes a control relay in the MCU that completes a 8 VDC circuit from the airplane main distribution bus to the landing light. A 30-amp breaker (Serials 005 thru 67) or 5- amp breaker (Serials 68 thru 4) on the MCU main distribution bus protects the circuit. () HID Light - Serials 48 & subs A 4-volt High Intensity Discharge (HID) landing light is installed in the lower engine cowling (Serials 48 thru 4, Serials 005 thru 47 after SB ), or the lower LH engine cowl (Serials 43 & subs). Serials 48 thru 4, Serials 005 thru 47 after SB w/ HID Bulb: The landing light is installed in the lower engine cowling. The light is mounted with a spring and two vibration mounts and is ground adjustable by the upper mounting screw. Serials 43 & subs: The landing light is installed in the lower LH engine cowl. The light is rubber-mounted to the cowl and is ground adjustable by mounting screws. The landing light is controlled through the LAND light switch on the instrument panel bolster. The switch energizes a control relay in the MCU that completes a 8 VDC circuit from the airplane main distribution bus to the landing light ballast. The ballast, located on the firewall (Serials 48 thru 4, 06 thru 043 w/ Perspective Avionics), the MCU cover (Serials 43 thru 043 w/o Perspective Avionics), or cowling (Serials 043 & subs) provides boosted voltage to illuminate the HID lamp. A 30-amp breaker (Serials 005 thru 67) or 5-amp breaker (Serials 68 & subs) on the MCU main distribution bus protects the circuit. (3) LED Light - Serials 005 thru 67 after SBX-33-07, 68 and subs A self-contained all LED landing light is installed in the lower engine cowl. The light is shockmounted to the cowl and is ground adjustable by mounting screws. The landing light is controlled through the LAND light switch on the instrument panel bolster. The switch energizes a control relay in the MCU that completes a 8 VDC circuit from the airplane Main Distribution Bus to the landing light. A 5-amp breaker on the MCU Main Distribution Bus protects the circuit. B. Anti-collision Strobe Light Assembly The airplane is equipped with an anti-collision strobe light assembly mounted to outboard surface of each wing tip. The light assembly includes a red (LH wing) or green (RH wing) navigation light in forward position, an anti-collision strobe light in middle position, and a white position light in rear position. () Bulb/Flash Tube Strobe - Serials 005 thru 06 before SB X All Page 9 Sep 07

2 MODEL SR0 The anti-collision strobe light utilizes bulbs for both the forward and rear position lights, and flash tube for the anti-collision light. () LED/Flash Tube Strobe - Serials 005 thru 06 after SB X-33-03, 07 & subs The anti-collision strobe light utilizes LEDs for both the forward (three LEDs) and rear position lights (two LEDs), and flash tube for the anti-collision light. (3) LED Strobe - Serials 7 & subs The anti-collision strobe light is a self-contained all LED assembly utilizing LEDs for anti-collision (thirty-six LEDs), forward (five red LEDs for LH wing or four green LEDs for RH wing), and rear position lights (two LEDs). The navigation and position lights are controlled through the NAV light switch on the instrument panel bolster. 8 VDC for navigation light operation is supplied through the 5-amp NAV LIGHTS circuit breaker on non-essential bus. Each anti-collision strobe light is flashed by a separate power supply. The strobe power supplies are controlled through the STROBE light switch on the instrument panel bolster. 8 VDC for strobe light and control circuits is supplied through the 5-amp STROBE LIGHTS circuit breaker on non-essential bus. C. Recognition Light Assembly - Serials 886 & subs A white recognition light assembly is installed on the leading edge of each wing tip. Each recognition light assembly consists of three LEDs and a power supply. The LEDs illuminate in a constant ON configuration and are controlled through the LAND light switch on the instrument panel bolster. Serials w/o Perspective Avionics: 8 VDC for recognition light operation is supplied through the 5-amp REC/INST LTS circuit breaker on Main Bus. Serials w/ Perspective Avionics: 8 VDC for recognition light operation is supplied through the 5-amp RECOG LIGHTS circuit breaker on the Non-Essential Bus (Serials 06 thru 40) or Main Bus 3 (Serials 4 & subs). D. Ice Detection Light Assembly - Serials 078 & subs Two white Ice Detection Light assemblies are installed in the fuselage skin just forward of the wings to illuminate the wing and horizontal leading edges to provide visual verification of icing conditions. Each Ice Detection Light consists of three LEDs. The LEDs illuminate in a constant ON configuration and are controlled through the ICE LIGHT switch on the bolster panel. 8 VDC for the Ice Detection Light operation is supplied through the 5-amp ICE LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus. E. Entry Step Lights - Serials 303 & subs w/ Convenience Lighting LED light assemblies are installed in LH and RH step assemblies and are controlled via wireless keyfob or cabin light switch located on the cabin headliner. When the switch is in the ON or AUTO position, the entry step lights turn on when either cabin door is opened or the doors are unlocked via the wireless keyfob and turn off when both doors are closed or the doors are locked via the wireless keyfob. 8 VDC for the convenience light operation is supplied through the 3-amp CONV LIGHTS circuit breaker on the CONS Bus.
