Safety instructions and regulations The module is designed to be used in an environment with a pollution level 2 defined by IEC Do not use in an environment that is wet, exposed to water and conductive dust, flammable, explosive or corrosive. The module belongs to the hazard category 2 or less of the EN standard. The side and lower parts of the module are not protected against mechanical hazards. It must be incorporated in the conveyor's structure in accordance with the existing local safety regulations, in particular R of the Labour Code. The module is a virtual machine that is designed to be incorporated in a machine. Before service entry, make sure that the machine complies with existing local safety standards, in particular Directive 2006/42/EC. Do not walk on the module as this could cause a failure or an accident. Do not touch the module during operation as this could cause injuries. Do not modify the product or change the control panel settings as this could cause an accident or a module malfunction. Make sure the 24VDC power supply and the transfer module are grounded. If not, this could cause an electric shock in the event of a short circuit or malfunction. Keep the product away from moisture and dust as this could cause a failure or an electric shock. Keep the technical document and installation manual. 2. Precautions to be taken during handling When unpacking, be careful not to damage the belts or cables, when opening the package with a knife. Wear gloves to protect hands against pinching, cuts, etc. The module should be carried by two people holding its base as shown in photo 1. If the module is held by the upper part, it may dislocate from the lower part. 5 5. Mechanical installation Mounting The vibration level for the location must be 0.5 G. The side and lower parts of the module are not protected against mechanical hazards. Protection complying with local safety standards must be provided. Secure the module to the module brackets using four M8 screws (not supplied). Make sure that the cables are not pinched or damaged. Make sure that the identification and safety labels remain visible. It must not be bent, clamped or tilted. An improperly installed module can inhibit the vertical movement (raising/lowering) or cause incorrect detection of the proximity sensor. Once the transfer module is properly installed, conveyor level upstream and downstream of the module must be set. F-RAT-S300 User manual 5

6 6. Electrical installation and wiring The electrical installation and wiring must be carried out in accordance with good engineering practices and in conformity with existing local standards. All electrical procedures must be carried out by authorized individuals and the safety-locking procedure of an electrical installation must be complied with. A TBTS 24 VDC stabilized power supply with a capacity matching the module must be provided for proper operation (only one motor operates at a time). Ensure good electrical continuity between the module and the conveyor frame, which is itself grounded. Control with PM500FE motorized roller and CBM-105-FP1-EU1 circuit board Install the control panels with the two M4 screws provided. Connect the motor cables to the control panel and then the input/output signal cables as well as the cables connecting the sensors to the PLC. Be careful to connect the sensor polarities correctly. 9 7. Testing and settings Testing The tests must be carried out by authorized individuals and the safety-locking procedure of an electrical installation must be complied with. Before performing the tests, make sure that each part of the module is installed and secured properly and that the electrical installation and wiring are properly performed. Be careful when moving the load on the F-RAT it can fall and cause serious injury. If LEDs flash (CBM-105) or the module malfunctions, refer to the document specific to the panel and/or contact us. (2) In the event of the motorized roller jamming, it jerks to release the load. If the problem lasts longer than 4 sec., the motorized roller stops and the panel is set to fault mode. Feedback voltage error (generator effect) Blocking error If a load (package) stopped on the transfer module is removed, do not push or pull it to avoid any possibility of derailment of the flat belts or roller wheels or movement of the ribbed belts. Settings To adjust the stop position of the load 3 on the transfer module, adjust the position of the P/E1 sensor and/or adjust the controller settings. To reduce slippage of the load on the conveyor table, the "deceleration" function available for the PM500FE & CBM-105 type motor may be used, if it does not affect the required transfer capacity. 10 8. Maintenance Before carrying out any work, make sure that the electrical installation safety-locking procedure has been implemented to ensure safety and avoid accidents. Maintenance must be carried out by the trained and authorized person Replacing the transfer direction motorized roller (M2) Disconnect the motorized connector from the control panel (see Figure 1) Remove the bolts shown in Figure 1 to remove the pulley guard plate. Remove the bolts on the side cover, and then remove the side cover. Remove the free rollers and the belts. Remove the attaching plate and the motorized roller being careful not to damage the motor connector and cable. Replace the motorized M8 X roller 14 and refit the parts following steps 5 to 1 above. 11 Flat belt replacement Remove the free rollers on either side of the flat belt concerned. (See transfer motorized roller replacement - Page 10) Remove the screws from the flat belt protective casing (do not remove the bracket screws) Loosen the flat belt tension adjustment screws on the roller wheels (do not remove the screws from the bracket). Remove the flat belt. Install the new flat belt beginning with the belt direction motorized roller. 6 Then follow steps 3 to 1 for reassembly Roller wheels Protective casing The tightening torque of the roller wheel screws must be 5.4 Nm ± 10% Adjust the flat belt tension using the torque gauge. To measure the tension, push the belt, using the gauge, to the upper part of the roller wheel bracket (see drawing and photo). Set the tension to about 12 N. The measurement positions on the belt are shown in the following drawings. They depend on the module type. Flat belt over-tension may cause motor overloading and under-tension may slow down the transfer speed. 13 Replacing the flat belt motorized roller 1 - Disconnect the belt direction motorized roller cable (M1) 2 - Remove all the free rollers and the motorized roller (See roller replacement) Motorized roller for flat belt Motorized roller for transfer direction and free roller Motorized roller for flat belt 3 - Remove all the flat belt cassettes (and the plates for large sizes), starting from those in the middle. The number of cassettes depends on the size of the F-RAT-S 4 - Remove the nut and bolt as shown below (A and B), and then replace the belt motorized roller.
