7 4.0 Troubleshooting The lift does not work up/down 1. Check that the emergency stop button is not pushed in. 2. Check that the cables are connected correctly. 3. Check that the charging cable is not connected to the wall socket. 4. Check that the battery is charged. 5. If the lift still does not work satisfactorily, contact Liko. Battery charging does not work 1. Check that the emergency stop button is not pushed in. 2. Check to ensure that the wall socket is power-supplied. 3. Check to ensure that the charging cable is correctly connected. 4. If the lift still does not work satisfactorily, contact Liko. The lift stops in the elevated position 1. Check that the emergency stop button is not pushed in. 2. Use the electrical emergency lowering device to safely lower the patient. 3. Use the mechanical emergency lowering device (marked) to lower the patient. 4. Check that the battery is charged. 5. If the lift still does not work satisfactorily, contact Liko. Drill a 11-mm deep hole, located 4 mm above the edge of the twist casing. Use a drill with diameter 2,7 mm. To countersink the screw into the twist casing - drill with a 6,0 mm drill. Seal screw, with Seal colour Emergency Lowering. NOTE - Make sure the spare part is mounted according to the assembly instruction. - Check all functions related to the changed spare part. - Repairs and maintenance may only be performed by personnel authorized by Liko and using original Liko spare parts. 31

57 9.0 Instructions for the check points 1 (a&b) Check for visible damage to the lift surfaces, finish, etc - Check for scratches, dents, deformities or unusual surface wear. 2 Check castor wheels and forks - Roll the lift, unloaded, along the floor, checking to ensure that all castors roll and turn freely. - Verify that the castor fasteners are tight. There should not be any play between the fork and the castor nut. - Remove the front fork cover and inspect safety casing and bolt cannel for cracks or fractures. 3 Check the castor brakes - Lock the brakes. Make sure the wheels do not turn and the castor housing does not swivel when the lift is pushed. 4 Inspect the base covers - Verify that the protective plastic covers are secure. 5 Inspect base opening and closing linkage Manual Base: - Inspect foot pedal for wear/sharp-edges. - Press the right side to widen the base and the left side to make it narrower. - Inspect linkage arms and ball coupling hardware. - Verify base manually opens and closes to max. & min. dimensions. 6 Inspect Locking handles - Loosen & retighten locking handles. Verify that threads are not damaged or binding. 7 Inspect lift arm hardware and covers - With the lift in it s lowest position, manually raise the lift arm/boom. Verify that the shaft lowers and raises freely. If the arm is binding, the mounting screw is to tight. - Inspect the plastic protective cover shells for cracks, deformation or gaps. - Inspect welding between arm and fastening device actuator 8 Inspect Flexlink arm to mast hardware and covers - With the slingbar hanging in it s lowest position, manually raise the slingbar and flexlink arm. - Verify that the flexlink arm lowers and raises freely. If the flexlink is binding the screw is too tight. - Inspect the plastic protective cover shells for cracks, deformation or gaps. 9 Inspect Flexlink arm to slingbar hardware and covers - With the slingbar hanging in it s lowest position, manually pivot the slingbar side-to-side. Verify that the flexlink arm lowers and raises freely. If the flexlink is binding, the mounting screw is too tight. - Verify that hardware covering plastic caps are secure. 10 Inspect the slingbar bearings and safety latches - Visually inspect that the steel hanger bar is free from any scratches, sharp edges or deformities. - Verify that the o-ring is present and positioned in the center bolt groove. - Check that the unit rotates freely on its bearings. Wipe clean any dirt, dust or residue. - Make sure that both safety latch clips are mounted and fall back against the body of the slingbar. Periodic Inspection 57

58 9.0 Instructions for the check points 11 Inspect the mast actuator w/mechanical lowering device - Verify that the upper and lower actuator fasteners to the mast are tight. - Check that the locking screws on the emergency-lowering device are countersunk; screw heads must not protrude. - If the lift is equipped with Outer tube: Pull the Outer Tube to the top and bottom (with the lift arm in its higest position). Make sure the Outer Tube not get stuck in any position. Verift that the Outer Tube has no cracks, deformation or gaps. 12 Check battery and electrical cable installations - Verify that battery is charged (recharge battery or test w/prod. No ). - Verify that all cables are properly inserted. Reinsert if uncertain. 13 Check all functions on the handcontrol - With the emergency stop out, verify that all functions on the handcontrol are working. 14 Check the Emergency Stop function - Press in the emergency stop button. With the emergency stop pressed in, verify the lift does not operate with the handcontrol buttons. - Next, turn the red emergency button in the direction of the arrows (clockwise). Verify the button releases from the locked position into the raised, open position. 15 Check electrical emergency lowering device functions - With the emergency stop out, verify that the electrical emergency lowering device functions. 16 Check charger function - Insert the charger cable into a power outlet ( V). - Remove the battery pack from the lift by rasing the catch att the back of the battery pack and lifting upwards. Place the battery pack on the charger. Check that the charger is plugged into the wall socket and the diods on the front of the charger lights up (indicates charging). 17 Type/model identification decal - Verify presence of mast product decal with model type and serial number. 18 Mast Max. Load Test - Run the lift with maximum load (160kg / 353lbs), all the way up and down. - Listen for peculiar noises and vibrations. 19 Base Max. Load Test - Press right / left side to widen the base with maximum load (160kg / 353lbs). - Listen for peculiar noises and vibrations. 20 Mechanical Emergency Lowering Load test - Check to ensure that the mechanical emergency lowering device functions with load (50-160kg / lbs). - Manually turn the red actuator collar in the directions af the arrows (clockwise) to lower. - Make sure the screw on the emergency lowerina is sealed with red paint. 21 Documentation - Instructions / Instruction Guide/ Service manual Periodic Inspection 58
