4 Welcome Initiative New Indigo Project CSIR is a Operational Partner along with DBT DST is a Steering Committee Member ICAR, ICMR, IISc are Observers Civil Aeronautical S&T, including Green Technologies and Energy Initiatives are to be identified as research Hotspots European Research Institutions (DLR,Fraunhofer,Aachen,CAS, Cranfield,CNES) and Industry (Lieber, Diehl, Airbus, Engine OEMs) inerested EU FP Programmes focused on Green Aircraft and Engine Technologies (European Clean Sky Programme)

5 CSIR-NAL is willing to take a lead role in the New Indigo Project with Focus on Green Civil Aviation Technologies and Bio - Aviation Fuels leading to fuel savings, lower CO2 and NOx emissions and lower noise. Target : Fuel Consumption Reduction % in 5-8 years, 50% in years (NASA study prediction) Work initiated 11 th FYP and proposals in 12 th FYP Government support for a Civil Aircraft Programme with new Energy and Cost efficient Technologies with NAL as the nodal agency. HPC formed to oversee feasibility study Keen Private Industry interest in participating in R&T
