3 Typographical Conventions The following lists the typographical conventions used in this training document Presents a suggestion that may simplify or explain a procedure. 5 Line Operator view Line Operator View The Line Operator view allows the Line Operator to view details about the Line Operator Business Role.. Click Configuration> Organizations>Line Operators. 7 Line Operator view > Trucking Company tab: Define page of Trucking Company tab EDI Process Line operators will normally use UIIA file EDI process to add, edit, delete or restrict trucking company authorization to dray containers. Thus, this process may only be necessary when an immediate change is required to the trucking company authorization. Contact Tracy Hassell at about the UIIA EDI process. Tab Process The Trucking Company tab displays the tucking companies with which the line operator has an agreement to do business. The line operator can use this form for a specific trucking company to:. Add. Edit. Delete 4. Specify as the official house trucker Note: Restrictions tab will not be available for NIT Go Live. This option will be added in the future. 7

8 Line Operator view > Trucking Company tab: Define page of Trucking Company tab Tab Process (continued) If a line operator does not have any trucking company agreements, ALL trucking companies will be able to do all gate moved for the line operator. Therefore, a line operator must have at least one line agreement for SPARCS N4 to enforce trucking company restrictions. When you delete a trucking company on this tab, SPARCS N4 does not delete the trucking company's association with the line operator; instead, it marks the trucking company's association as obsolete. Only Port of Virginia can use the Actions menu to:. Recover Obsolete: Recover an obsolete trucking company's association with the line operator.. Purge: Delete a trucking company's association with the line operator instead of just marking it as obsolete. When you purge a record from this tab, it only deletes the association between the line operator and the trucking company. It does not delete the trucking company record. 16 Trucking Company Line form: Optional Fields Field Label Alias Id Credit Expiration Date Status Insurance Expiration Date Expiration Date House Trucker Description Enter the Alias Id that the line operator uses for the trucking company. SPARCS N4 maps this alias Id or code to the trucking company Id in the outbound EDI extracts when the trucking company delivers or receives a container at the gate. Enter the expiration date of the credit agreement between the trucking company and line operator. If the expiration date has passed, SPARCS N4 generates a trouble ticket when processing a gate transaction with the selected trucking company and line operator. Select the status of the agreement between the line operator and the trucking company. Enter the expiration date of the insurance agreement between the trucking company and shipping line. If the expiration date has passed, SPARCS N4 generates a trouble ticket when processing a gate transaction with the selected trucking company and line operator. Enter the date when the agreement between the line operator and the selected trucking company expires. Select if the trucking company is the official house trucker for the line operator. A house trucker is a trucking company that can always pick up a container for a line operator even though another trucking company may be assigned for the pickup. A line operator can assign multiple trucking companies as house truckers. 6
