Many overweight loads are also oversize Methods for measuring static vehicle load heights vary depending on trucker experience and preferences. Load height measurements may not consider potential variations due to road dynamics and vehicle suspension rebound Nationally, drivers are guided by a wide variety of signs, bridge height warning signs and over height warning systems Future technologies primarily vehicle vehicle collision avoidance Little information is currently available on the future of low clearance bridge or obstacle clearance detection at highway speeds
