2 PP ASMS series apilion system Fully automatic machinery with wire feed exclusively from coil. The ASMS was designed for use with packerhead and other highly automated pipe production systems. Longitudinal wire feed off coil not only eliminates stockholding of precut bars, but also facilitates continuous uninterrupted cage production resulting in a considerably higher output than conventional machinery. 3 PP RER series apilion system For the rapid, reliable production of cages with bell/spigot and elliptical cross-sections, allowing the use of a single cage even in large diameter pipes in complete compliance with norms. The automatically welded cages are used in PRINZING-PFEIFFER production equipment modified to ensure that the manufactured pipes are perfectly prepared for correct laying. As a result, the operator s task is made significantly easier and the risk of accidents reduced to a minimum. Longitudinal wire production and feed are effected in sync with the production process, taking into account that longitudinal wires of different lengths are required in a single cage. The wire feed system consists of the following components: 4 chain conveyor (designed for the reception of the automatically cut bars and their transfer to the longitudinal wire feed) 5 straightener & cutter (for longitudinal wire fed from coil) 6 longitudinal wire ejection 7 longitudinal wire feed (for the automatic feeding into the cage welding machine) 8 longitudinal wire reel 3

The smooth or deformed reinforcement wire has to be suitable for resistance spot welding, and correspond to quality grade BST 500 to DIN 488 or ASTM A 82. To ensure trouble-free weldability, the coil wire should be free of scale or drawn and additionally be free of corrosion or other impurities.
