They usually ask us for about 6-8 cars. I will get the specifics in the next couple of weeks. As I recall, we need to be there about 11 AM with the parade starting about 1 PM. BRMSCC has been running rallies since 1955 in the estern Pennsylvania area, eleven months a year. The cost is $10.00 per car and we will be placed in a "Novice" class that day. Please log on to their eb Site at go to "Tutorial" (14 pages), and learn all about TDS rallying. They also like food and ice cream! I need a rough idea of how many cars will attend (they do award trophies in Novice class). atch for details online or in the newsletter. This Rally will be a challenging and exciting event for us. P Bridge to Nowhere by Brian & Sheila Bell lease join Brian & Sheila Bell on a cruise to the Bridge to Nowhere. e will visit the Kinzua Bridge State Park where we will walk the Kinzua Bridge Skywalk. The park is the home of the newly reinvented Kinzua Viaduct. The Viaduct, once known as the longest and tallest railroad structure at 2,054 feet long and 301 feet high, was partially destroyed by a tornado in In 2011, the engineering masterpiece was reinvented as a new pedestrian walkway where visitors can stroll 600 feet out on the remaining support towers, peer miles out into the Kinzua Gorge and down through the partial glass platform at the end of the walkway. After enjoying the beautiful views, we will have lunch at a quaint bakery/restaurant in Mt Jewett. e will then drive to the lake and stop for ice cream on the way home. It is the largest university creamery in the nation known for its ice cream, sherbet, and cheeses. Although there are no tours on the weekend, we will be able to buy the delicious ice cream. Bring your cooler. e will travel on the back roads on our journey and stop for lunch. Then we will continue on to the creamery. Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix by ally Swarmer e Miata people go 'Zoom Zoom.' ell the race cars at the PVGP go VROOM,VROOM. e have participated in this annual event for quite a few years and it keeps getting better each year. Please plan to join us this year for the International Car Show on urday, July 21. e will have a 20 x 20 ft tent set up for us by the PVGP and we have a good time come rain or shine. e welcome anyone with a Miata to join us, club member or not. e usually have about 30 to 40 or more cars join us for the urday car show. Every car needs to be registered for the event, either by preregistration (recommended), or on urday morning. The tent is also available for day use, the day of the races. For more info about the entire race week of the PVGP go to pvgp.org. More specific info about our club's day will be included in next month's newsletter. I Gettysburg Report by Chuck & Mary Ann Mcilliams will attempt to write about the car cruise to Gettysburg on May 5-6, The only reason is that someone thinks my old job qualifies me to be able to write travel articles. e met at Greengate Commons at 7:30 AM on urday May 5th. There were 6 cars and 12 people, which made for a comfortable convoy. e had good weather, which meant tops down, and we seemed to catch every green light all the way to the battlefield. Route 30 was made for our cars as we traveled up and down the mountains and around all the curves. e arrived around 11:30 and went right to the Visitor's Center. After lunch we toured the Eisenhower Farm, which was owned by the 34th President of the U.S. A trip to the Gettysburg National Cemetery, where Lincoln's Gettysburg Address was given, ended the day. e checked in at the Quality Inn at General Lee's Headquarters. A small footnote: At our motel, certain people heard doors slamming and their coffee pot started in the middle of the night(with Joe and Linda, but you never know). On day morning we were told by the staff about ghosts in the motel. Over time they have seen 11 different ghosts. Dinner was at the Dobbins House, built in 1776, the oldest house in Gettysburg, where the staff dressed in period costumes and the food was excellent. 4 4 (continued from page 3) at the motel, we were off to see the Cyclorama and a film on the "Freedom Of The Nation", then a guided bus tour of the battlefield. This is where we left our fellow travelers, did some shopping, and made our own way home. Linda did a wonderful job of planning the logistics, which made for a great weekend car cruise CRUISIN & ZOOMIN SEASON BY LINDA ZIMLIKI T he season has started. If there is a cruise or event you are thinking of planning for the future please contact me. You may have the same idea as someone else or the cruise may have already been done. There has been a lot of switching of dates so check the newsletter each month for updates. I will any cruise updates which occur after the newsletter is published. e will be cruisin to some great places this year. There is a rally on the schedule this year. It takes place on day June 3. Some of you maybe asking, hat is a rally? It's a game played with your car. You will receive directions which your navigator uses to direct the driver. You may have to recognize certain landmarks and write them down. No matter what, you will have a good time. It's ZoomZoommZoommm time. Curvy Roads ith Bill by President Bill illis e had our first cruise and it was an overnighter on urday, May 5, and six cars headed for Gettysburg. This was an awesome cruise. e saw and learned so much about the battle of Gettysburg. e also heard a story of a Union soldier that had no identification on him, but was identified with a picture he was holding of his three children when he died. Linda and Joe Zimliki, thank you for this great cruise. I just want to remind everyone that all cruises are to be scheduled through the Events Coordinator.
