The guarantee only included the replacement of the parts recognized as faulty and therefore it does not include the labour and freight costs reimbursement. The guarantee right is considered to be lost: - In case the buyer carries out arbitrary changes to the original structure of the equipment delivered to him. - In the event the load limits reported in the technical data table are exceeded. - In case no original spare parts are used. - In case our machines are utilized in non-compliance with the instructions contained in our handbooks. - In case the user utilizes the equipment in an improper way. 3

The regular functioning, the life as well as an economical working procedure of the machine depend upon the compliance with these handbook instructions. The non-compliance with these handbook instructions, the carelessness, a wrong and improper use of the machine can cause a loss of the guarantee right given by the Manufacturer and furthermore the efficiency advantages of this equipment cannot be achieved. FORIGO - ROTERITALIA Co. is anyway at your disposal for assuring a quick and careful technical service and all what could be useful for a better functioning and for obtaining the maximum efficiency from the machine. The Manufacturer reserves the right to modify this handbook issue and its data, in order to improve the product in a technical or commercial way. WARNING WARNING This symbol is always utilized in the handbook, when your or someone else s safety can be in danger, or the good functioning of your machine can be jeopardized. Particular attention shall therefore be paid to the paragraphs containing this symbol. This handbook is an integral part of the machine and shall always be together with the machine, also in case of move of the premises or in case of sale of the machine to third parties. In case of disputes concerning the contents of this handbook, the reference text is the Italian one. 4

Before maintenance, disconnect the tractor, remove the key from the dashboard, lean the machine on the ground and consult the use and maintenance handbook. DANGER SIGNALS 3. You could be caught by the cardan shaft. Do not get near to the moving elements. 4. You could be knocked down by the tractor. Do not remain in the area behind the tractor. 5. Falling danger. Do not sit down on the machine and do not board it: neither on moving nor on not working machine. 6. Possible throw of blunt objects; keep a safety range. 7. Possible cutting of the lower limbs. Keep a safety range from the machine. INDICATION SIGNALS 8. Coupling point for lifting. 9. Indication, machine is prepared for a rotary power takeoff with 540 rounds/minute. 10. Not foreseen for this version. PROPER USE This agricultural machine called F61 series rotary harrow, manufactured by ROTERITALIA Co. Shall exclusively be utilized coupled to a tractor (having a suitable power), equipped with a power takeoff and with hydraulic lifting device having a universal 3-points-coupling. The rotary harrow shall exclusively be utilized for preparing the land, previously tilled through a grubber or a plough, in order to reduce the presence of sods in the land. Any other use shall be considered as improper, therefore dangerous. 5

6 SAFETY RULES AND ACCIDENTS PREVENTION All the instructions shall carefully be read before using the machine, if there should be any doubts you have to contact the Manufacturer. FORIGO - ROTERITALIA Co. Disclaims any responsibility in case of non-compliance with the safety and accident prevention rules reported as follows. 1. Pay attention to the danger symbols reported in this booklet and on the machine. 2. Absolutely avoid to touch or to near the moving parts. 3. It is absolutely forbidden to transport things or animals on the machine. 4. Strictly respect all the accident prevention measurements recommended in this handbook. 5. The labels reporting the instructions, located on the machine, indicate the substantial suggestions for avoiding accidents. 6. The maximum weight foreseen on the tractor axle, the total weight bearable by the machine, the transport rules and the road traffic code in force in your Country shall be respected. 7. Before starting the work, you shall gain a good knowledge of the control devices and/or their functions. 8. Do not steer or go into reverse when the machine is lowered and is working in the land. 9. Use suitable clothes. Absolutely avoid fluttering clothes or clothes having parts which could get entangled in the moving elements. 10. Pay attention during the coupling and release stages of the machine to the tractor. 11. During the the cardan shaft connection you shall strictly respect the manufacturer s instructions as well as the descriptions of the following chapters. 12. The machine shall be equipped with signals and protections for its transport on the road, respecting the rules in force in your Country. 13. When the tractor is running, never leave the driver s seat and do not allow any person or animal to approach to. 14. It is very important to consider that the road holding and the tractor direction & braking capability can be influenced by an agricultural machine with its accessories. 15. In case of bents in the road, pay attention to the centrifugal force exercised by the equipment position on the tractor. 16. It is absolutely forbidden to stay in the area where the machine and its accessories are running. 17. The machine coupling bolts diameter shall be equal to the diameter of the tractor coupling balls. 18. Pay attention during work in the tractor lifting arms area: it is a very dangerous area. 19. The tightening of screws and nuts shall periodically be checked; in case of need, screw tight. 20. Respect the quality of the suggested lubricants. 21. The spare parts shall correspond to the needs indicated by the manufacturer. You shall only utilize original spare parts. 22. The adhesives relating to the safety shall always be well-readable; they shall always be clean and have to be replaced when they become less readable (you can ask for them to the agent). 23. The handbook with the instructions for use shall be kept for the whole machine life. 6

7 MACHINE LIFTING In case of machine lifting through a crane or a hoist, you shall first of all assure that the means of lifting and also the lifting ropes are suitable for the weight to be checked (check the Technical Data table) and in good conditions. Then, the machine shall be coupled to the upper 3-points-coupling pin as indicated in Figure 4. FIG. 4 During the lifting stage, the machine has an approx 30 skidding due to the barycentre position, as indicated in the figure, therefore you shall take care and assure that neither persons nor animals are near the machine, because there is a risk of lower limbs crushing. BEFORE USING Important: If you supply a new user with the machine, it is important to check the machine according to the following list. 1. Check the tightening of all the nuts and the bolts. 2. Check the oil level in the reduction gear ( Pg.11 Fig.11) 3. Lubricate all the machine points ( Pg.11 Fig.11) 4. The tractor power takeoff shall function at the speed rate indicated on the machine by the relevant adhesive label ( revolutions). 5. Cgeck the cardan shaft length. 6. Adjust the harrow working height in such a way, so that the front teeth are 2/4 cms higher than the rear ones, as per figure 6. This adjustment shall be carried out operating on the third B point of the tractor. FIG. 5 FIG. 6 COUPLING TO THE TRACTOR Fig Align the rotary harrow; 2. Insert the two parallel A tractor arms in the small oscillating B arms and also insert the C pins locking them then by the special release split pins; 3. Connect the third tractor point to the upper pin of the 3-points-coupling, adjusting it in order to assure the harrow position described in figure 6; 4. The C pins shall have the same diameter requested by the tractor. Do not use pins of a different class or having smaller diameter. 7

8 CARDAN SHAFT As soon as the rotary harrow coupling to the tractor has been carried out, you shall check the exact length of the cardan shaft. If the length is not right, exclusively turn to the reseller or to the authorized service centre, who provides replacing it or fitting it using a cardan shaft having an exact length and the CE mark. The angulation the cardan shaft works with shall be as small as possible and it shall preferably not exceed degrees figure 8; in this way you achieve a longer cardan shaft and machine life. Alwasy use the original cardan shaft complete with the relevant safety parts and protections. VERY IMPORTANT: In the different work positions, the cardan shaft drive tubes shall be inserted one in each other for at least 200 mm (fig.7 ). - Repeat this checking when the rotary harrow will be coupled to a different tractor. WARNING: The cardan shaft protections shall always be in good conditions and motionless during the cardan shaft rotation, utilizing the relevant chains. For your safety, you shall immediately replace the cardan shaft protections, in case they are worn. The safety chains shall not be used for supporting the cardan shaft when the machine is not running. WARNING: During the coupling (insertion) of the cardan shaft, assure that the locking of the relevant P push-button is right on both sides. P P FIG. 7 FIG. 8 8

9 COUPLE LIMITING DEVICES Each machine is supplied with a cardan shaft equipped with a couple limiting device, for avoiding overloads to the equipment or tractor mechanics. The disconnection, the replacement or the tampering of the safety element automatically involves a guarantee right loss. SB BOLT COUPLE LIMITING DEVICE In case of breakage of the bolt, replace it with an equal one, (8.8 class) according to the reported table: F61 models M 8 bolts UNI 5737 FF CLUTCH LIMITING DEVICE The clutch limiting device is supplied by the manufacturer already calibrated; in case the clutch slips, you shall reset the original adjustment positioning the bolts as laterally represented. After a long period of non-utilization you shall check the friction disks At the end of the seasonal utilization, you shall loosen the bolts and allow to run down the springs. If you screw the adjustment screws with another ½ turn and in spite of this the clutch slips, you have to replace the friction disks and to contact the nearest Service Centre. NOTE: In case the cardan shaft is not supplied by the manufacturer (ROTERITALIA) you shall mount a cardan shaft having a suitable power (see table with powers) equipped with CE mark. For maintenance strictly respect the instructions reported in the handbook supplied together with the same cardan shaft. ROTERITALIA Co. 10 SIDE BOARDS Fig. 9 The side boards the F61 series rotary harrows pos. 1 manufactured by ROTERITALIA Co. are equipped with can be vertically adjusted according to the work depth operating the bolts pos. 1 FIG. 9 REAR ROLLS The rotary harrows produced by ROTERITALIA can be equipped with rear levelling rolls; their choice depends upon the kind of soil to be processed and upon the final result you wish; here below there are the different surveys. Packer roll Suggested in case you need a compact and uniform seed-bed. Packer roll is equipped with scrapers for cleaning the roll in case of wet and sticky ground; the scrapers are mounted on a rod and it is possible to adjust their distance from the roll for assuring their cleaning function. A good scraper adjustment is the better solution against a roll clogging risk. Crate roll Suggested in case of loose soil, more susceptible to a superficial crust development and in case you wish a loose seed-bed. Spikes roll Suggested in very wet and loamy soils. The spikes lean on the ploughing bed hold up the harrow without making the soil compact. It is periodically necessary to check the wear conditions of the spikes. The spikes roll is equipped with scrapers for cleaning the central tube when soil is wet and sticky; the scrapers are mounted on a rod and it is possible easy to adjust their distance from the roll for assuring their cleaning function. Net roll The net roll is suggested in processing loose and dry soils, in order to achieve a smooth and homogeneous surface. It is suggested for preparing vegetable gardens, grasslands, gardens, flower-beds and in the nurseries. 10

11 WORK DEPTH ADJUSTMENT Fig. 10 In the version with slides and bonnet, the work depth shall be adjusted by the lateral slides, moving the lock on one of the possible positions. In the version with a rear roll, the work depth shall be adjusted by the rear roll adjusting crank -A- fig. 10. LUBRICATION FIG After the first 50 working hours you shall replace the reduction gear oil, draining it from the relevant -Scover figure 11. Provide washing inside the reduction gear with kerosene or gas oil. Fill with the recommended oil type through the -C- filling cover hole represented in figure 11 and check that the oil reaches the right level verifying from the relevant -L- level hole. The, repeat the operation every 300 working hours. FIG The grease contained in the gear container shall constantly be checked, since its level shall be over the internal gear. This checking has to be carried out from the filling cover. - The roll bearings shall be lubricated every 4 working hours. - The cardan shaft crosses have to be lubricated every 4 hours pumping twice, also check and lubricate the pipes and the grooved pole, as well. 11

Check the tightening of all the bolts, particularly the central teeth holder locking bolt. Check the tightening of the teeth bolts and verify if the bolts are intact, if they should accidentally break, we suggest to replace them immediately, see the chapter TEETH REPLACEMENT TEETH REPLACEMENT A particular study has been given up to the structure of this important element, in order to allow it at the same time a perfect processing of the soil and an easy replacement in case of wear, as well. In fact you can see the easy access to the fixing screws and the teeth can turn clockwise and counterclockwise, in this way there are no disadvantages usually existing in similar machines. The replacement of the teeth shall be carried out leaning the harrow on two strong lateral supports, for avoiding sudden equipment lowerings; fof removing the teeth unscrew the nut pos. 1, remove the washer pos. 2 and remove the screw pos. 3 fig. 13 We suggest to carry out the teeth fixing by a pneumatic 1¾ screwer. For reaching the driving torque in a correct way you shall utilize a setscrew 24-wrench with an approx 1 meter lever, see figure 12. FIG. 12 FIG

13 PARABLOC REAR LEVELLING BLADE Our rotary harrows can be equipped with with a rear rod which has to be mounted between the tooth holding rotors and the rear roll, in order to level and to allow an additional soil refining. For adjusting the parabloc rod you shall move the supporting shaft pos. A fig. 14 on one of the possible positions. FIG. 14 The parabloc rear rod shall absolutely not be used in rocky groundsthe parabloc rear rod shall only skim over the ground, reducing in this way the towing strain and also avoiding damages and clogging of the harrow. A good positioning of the parabloc rear rod improves the work results, while a too big lowering creates clogging, does not improve the work results and needs more power by the tractor. END OF THE WORK If the harrow shall remain in stand still for a long period, it is necessary to carry out following procedures: A. Carefully wash the harrow. B. Carefully check the functional features of all moving parts, particularly the safety protections, replacing the damaged or worn ones. C. Check the tightening of all the bolts. D. Check the lubricants level. E. Protect and lubricate all the metal, non-painted parts, then cover the equipment and place it in a dry room, so, it will be ready to use in case of a new utilization. 13
