2 Repair report Job : LNS 31 Date: 3-5 October 2008 Title : Turbine Casing Repair on CDC Crack Before Stitching At RHS & LHS Drill,making Spotface & Taping to Install C3 Stitching Pins Along to the Crack Both Side RHS,LHS of CDC after PT Check to measure the Crack

4 CDC RHS & LHS :Hammering by Pneumatic Hammer, Grinding &Finishing the Surface by Needle Hammer Finich this Portion and PT Test

5 Note on repair job - CDC: 1. Repair procedure on CDC was commenced with by Lock-N-Stitch Metal Stitching technology. 2. PT check showed small trace of gap at one end of stitching. However, this gap does not represent any problems on the seal of this repair as it is only on the surface around the top part of spotface of Castmaster pin TM. Please see photographic explanation. 3. Our Castmater pin TM ensures that crack line was filled with spiral hook along the depth of thread and there is no problem on leaking from the crack. 4. During the repair at inner side of the casing we found that the access was too small to install Lock. However we successfully installed Castmaster pins to remove crack line and reinforce strength to some extent. Occasional inspection of this crack should be exercise to monitor crack behavior such as propagation. Lock-N-Stitch (Thailand) will assist GLOW to mitigate any problems following this repair job. 5. Calculating for breaking load for CDC after Install Stitching pins At RHS Install C3B x 13 EA = 181,519 N At LHS Install C3B x 13 EA = 181,519 N

8 Segment #7 : Install C2 stitching Pins to remove the Crack & drill L20 jig to install Lock L20 at the end of crack Segment #7 : Install Lock L20 & C2 Stitching pins at the end of Lock L20 Drill the existing hole at segment #7 By Centering Bush to lock the centre from existing thread on outside of turbine casing

9 Install L4 Stitching pin to remove the crack Segment#7 : Finishing the suface Complete this portion and PT Test

10 Crack On Segment #14 before repairing Install C3 Stitching Pins at the end of Crack Install Lock L20 At the End Of Crack on Segment #14 Install C2 Stitching Pins at the end of Lock L20 And to remove the Crack ontop of hole on Segment #14

11 Segment#14 : Finishing the surface & Complete this portion and PT Test Crack on Segment #16 Before Repairing

12 Install Plug FPS7 to blind the hole on Segment #16 Install Lock L20 At the End Of Crack on Segment #16 Install C2 Stitching pins at the end of Lock L20 And Hammering by Pneumatic Hammer on Segment #16

13 Install C2 Stitching Pins to remove the Crack on top of hole at Segment #16 Install C2 Stitching Pins to remove the Crack below Lock L20 at Segment #16

14 Drill The Existing Hole by Centering Bush, Finishing surface to complete this portion & PT Test Over all Picture after repair By Lock-N-Stitch Metal stitching Method

15 Note on repair job Upper Turbine Casing: 1. Repair procedure was commenced with by Lock-N-Stitch Metal Stitching technology. 2. PT check showed small trace of gap at one end of stitching. However, this gap does not represent any problems on the seal of this repair as it is only on the surface around the top part of spotface of Full Torque TM Thread Insert. Please see photographic explanation. 3. Our combination of Castmater pin TM, Lock and Full Torque ensures that crack line was filled with spiral hook along the depth of thread and material is excessively strengthen by our lock (see red color in breaking load table).
