4 ABOUT Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM, the Auto Industry) P P The Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) was established in 1988 and duly recognized by the Government of Pakistan in The Association represents the auto parts manufacturing sector with an estimated industrial base of over 2,800 units spread all over Pakistan. The Association s registered membership base is in excess of 350. The Association s objectives include the safe guarding of the parts manufacturers interests in the national auto policies, as well as the provision of other membership services which include, but are not limited to, directory printings, Research Development of auto specific data, management of Pakistan Auto Shows on an annual basis, the participation at international exhibitions and the latest edition to the service portfolio of the association - the PAAPAM Skill Development Centre, with an objective to provide training on various managerial and technical skills to its members. Pakistan produced its first vehicle in 1953 at the National Motors Limited which was established in Karachi to assemble Bedford Trucks. The industry was highly regulated until the early 1990s. After deregulation, major Japanese manufacturers entered the market thereby creating some competition in the sector. Assemblers of HINO Trucks, Suzuki Cars (1984), Toyota (1993) and Honda (1994) in particular, entered Pakistan one after the other. In the tractor Sector, Millat Tractors Limited (MTL) was established in 1964 to introduce and market Massey Ferguson (MF) Tractors in Pakistan. An assembly plant was set up in 1967 to assemble tractors imported in semi-knocked down (SKD) condition. (AGTL), was incorporated in 1983, its plant located in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. Al-Ghazi Tractors plant manufactures New Holland tractors and generators in collaboration with Fiat New Holland. Today the localization levels of the Tractor Industry has touched 96%. The two wheeler sector has been dominated by Atlas Honda Limited, which started its production in 1987, The Latest edition in the two wheeler sector is YAMAHA which has started its production in the tax Free zone in Karachi in With a conservative estimated Rs 150 Billion investment, the industry provides direct employment to over 252,000 (2013 PAAPAM estimates) and indirectly supports over 2.4 million persons. Exports of four wheelers, two wheelers and agricultural related components are on the increase with last estimates at US$ 128 million. The Auto Engineering Sector of Pakistan is exporting forgings, castings, rubber, plastic and sheet metal components to all parts of the world. On the roads, four wheeled vehicles crossed 10 million in However two wheelers with an annual production of 2 million+ are fast crossing 25 million and now boasting a collective robust US$ 3.5 billion aftermarket. The tractor sector has an annual volume of 50,000 units with a total capacity of 100,000 units to meet the growing demand from the agricultural sector. The heavy vehicle population in Pakistan is mixed with European and Japanese variants available in used and new categories. Additionally, Chinese trucks and buses are now also entering fast with local production and creating competition for already established brands like Hino, Nissan, Isuzu. This sector is the smallest at the moment, but with the China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC, a multi billion dollor project underway, the demand and production is bound to increase with new entrants entering the market as well. The future of the Truck sector in Pakistan is sure to be the largest. and buses are now also entering fast with local production and creating competition for already established brands like Hino.

Known as the Cultural Capital of Pakistan, the city was the seat of the Mughal and the Sikh Empire. Lahore has played an important role in Pakistani history- it was in this city that Pakistan's independence declaration was made. It was the largest city in the newly formed Pakistan at the time of independence. Historical Architectures The city as we know it today, reached its peak of glory during the Mughal rulers, especially in the reign of Akbar the Great. He built the Lahore Fort, as well as the city walls which had 12 gates, of which some of these still survive today. Jehangir and Shah Jehan, the builders of the Taj Mahal in Agra and the Shalamar Gardens in Srinagar and Lahore, built palaces and tombs. The last great Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb built Lahore's most famous monument, the great Badshahi Mosque. Culture Lahore is the core of Pakistan's media and arts scene. Pakistan's most prestigious art college, the National College of Arts, is located here. Any non approved contractors must follow the rules and regulations of the Lahore International Expo Centre, and must deposit refundable securities PRIOR to sending any material to the venue, and PRIOR to the commencing of any works at the venue. These rules are NON NEGOTIABLE and all vendors and fabricators must adhere to the regulations of the Lahore International Expo Centre, information of which can be collected from the Lahore Expo itself. The Association takes no liability for any vendor related issues that may arise as a consequence of non compliance. The space only option does not include any stand fittings, flooring or electrics, but enables the exhibitors to create their own individual stand. All Space Only Exhibitors must submit dimensional drawings of their proposed stand design to the Organisers for approval no later than the scheduled deadline. The Organiser reserves the right to reject a design likely to unreasonably affect nearby Exhibitors sites in any way, or which may not conform to relevant terms conditions. Stand fitting and display work to space only sites must not exceed an overall height of 2.5m without the Organiser s written permission. Applications should be made in writing to the Organisers and be accompanied by a scale drawing. Such applications should be made at least 2 months prior to the Show. Furniture will not be readily available on site. Exhibitors stand fitting contractors can commence work on space only stands on the date scheduled in the Exhibitor s Diary.Please ensure that your stand design does not include the standard shell scheme as this is provided by our Official Stand Contractor only and plans containing shell schemes will be rejected. It is the responsibility of the Exhibitors not taking shell stands to make their own arrangements for the provision of suitable floor covering for their area and also to ensure their stand number is clearly displayed. Since no power supply is included in space only sites, a separate application for the mains supply for the stall must be submitted at least two months prior to the event.
