1 Part 1 General 1.1 Summary.1 Unless otherwise indicated, follow the standards below when specifying Exterior Furnishing. Logo must be silk-screened on a 1/16 thick scratch brushed aluminum plate. Part 2 Products 1.1 Preferred Products.1 Refer to MAT website ( for selection of products for this section, except for prescribed items. Products selected on MAT should have score of 5 or above. 2.1 Recycling Stations.1 Garbage Bins.1 For all new garbage bins, specify galvanized steel painted green solar compactor, as manufactured by BigBellySolar with 32 gallon volume capacity..2 Facilities logo must appear at the bottom of the central unit, on the front and back of unit. 2 Front view Side views Rear view.2 Benches.1 For all new benches, specify benches with 100% recycled plastic lathing as manufactured by Cascade or approved equivalent, with black steel frame structure. Steel structure must be finished with Powercron 6000cx E-Coat type finish and a layer of electrostatic polyester powder to reach 10 mils finish thickness. A written attestation of the use of the E-Coat finish and the electrostatic polyester powder must be submitted to McGill. See drawings below for dimensions.4 Custom designed, or integrated benches may be used, but design must be approved by Architectural Advisory Committee..3 Picnic Table.1 All picnic tables shall be 1816 (length) x 756 (height) x 1602 (width) and of 170 kg (375 lbs) of weight. 3 .2 Table tops will be constructed with recycled grey plastic slats of 37 x 137 (2 x 6 ) with a Bullnose profile of 37 x 62 (2 x 3 )..3 Benches will be constructed with slats of recycled plastic, 37 x 86 (2 x 4 ), with a Bullnose profile of 37 x 86 (2 x 4 ).4 Acceptable Products: Product code as manufacture by Cascade, or approved equivalent.4 Ashtray.1 Urban ashtrays must be installed at 9m radius from main entrance.2 Depending on location, use either Tower model or Wall Mounted model by I Kkit or approved equivalent, with Gloss black finish. Size may vary with location..5 Bike Racks.1 For all new bike racks, specify fixed black steel frame structure, with Powercron 6000cx E-Coat type finish and a layer of electrostatic polyester powder to reach 10 mils finish thickness. 4 .7 Bollards.1 May install fixed bollards or Automatic Retractable Bollards as manufactured by Urbaco or approved equivalent..8 Flower Boxes.1 For all new flower boxes, specify calibre 14 black steel frame structure raised on 25 mm thick steel corner angles, with drainage holes at bottom of box and a continuous border of 37 mm at top of box. 5 or 3.75 mm tinted orange and treated against UV rays, with a low density reflective strip 75 mm in height situated 200 mm from the tip of the rod..2 Polycarbonate border receptacles, 115 mm in length, with internal threads..3 Polycarbonate ground receptacles,115 mm in diameter and 64 mm in length, with internal threads..4 Polycarbonate reference rod connector held at the base with strips using lateral pressure clinging to the notch of the polyethylene casing..5 Polycarbonate receptacle plug fitted with an installation opening able accepta 10 mm Allen key, threaded on the outside..6 Galvanized steel pipe,19 mm in diameter, length varying from 600 mm to 900 mm fitted a retainer plate at one end and threaded at the other, able to hold ground receptacle..2 Acceptable product: Tag marker R-6 and rod as manufactured by P.S.B Gesma Inc., or approved equivalent.
