The goal was to find the best materials for their intended purposes. The result is the next generation of Landscape Forms materials. 35 utilizes aluminum, rather than steel for many parts, to provide superior corrosion resistance; and castings, rather than machined parts, to achieve its curved forms. 35 castings are complex, 3-dimensional forms. The contours and complexity give the castings their aesthetic quality and strength. Perforated aluminum is used on several products in the collections. A new perforated metal pattern, for both aluminum and steel, was designed expressly for 35. Based on a squared circle, it affords more transparency. In selected areas where additional strength is needed, such as bench seats and support beams, steel components are used. 35 introduces translucent color to furniture for outdoor environments. Landscape Forms sought solutions that could deliver color you can see through with the strength and durability to meet its exacting standards. Three materials were selected: Polycarbonate for Mix and Mingle seats and backs, and Shade wings. Compression-molded acrylic solid surface for Mix and Mingle tables. Rotational-molded polyethylene for Chill. Connections: 35 represents a new approach to the way Landscape Forms products are assembled. Bolted connections are used in many parts, in contrast to the welding characteristic of most Landscape Forms products. Uniform minimal gaps between parts permit complete powdercoat coverage and allow furniture to flex without wearing off the finish. Stainless steel magnacoated hardware provides long-lasting, rust-free connection between parts. Material Specifications Aluminum is used to provide superior corrosion resistance; castings, rather than machined parts are used to achieve 35 s curved forms. A new perforated aluminum pattern is used on seats. Polycarbonate is a high-performance plastic, extruded in sheets. Its advantages as an outdoor furniture material are its ability to achieve structural form with a very thin profile, impart translucent color, and provide extreme strength capable of resisting damage by vandals, skateboards and snowplows. Polycarbonate meets the same BIFMA standard as perforated steel. Marneaux is a compression-molded solid surface acrylic that, unlike solid surfaces glued to a substrate, is formed in a mold to specified dimensions. Tabletops created by this process can be made thick where extra dimension is wanted and thinner where it s not.tables have no joints, impart translucent color, can include molded details and connections and are exceptionally strong. Rotational molded polyethylene is produced by tumbling polyethylene powder in a mold under heat. The rotational molded polyethylene in Chill provides strong structure with integral color that stands up to heavy use and is easily cleaned. Molded to a wall thickness of 5/16, Chill withstood testing under 300 pound dropped weights. Finishing All metal is finished with Landscape Forms exclusive Panguard II polyester powdercoat a hard yet flexible finishing process that resists rusting, chipping, peeling and fading. Landscape Forms Panguard II powdercoat finish contains no heavy metals, is HAPS-free and has extremely low VOCs. 3 Sit Sit is protected by U.S. Patent Nos. D 507,426; D 512,229. Seats Sit benches are available in backed or backless styles; offered either surface mount or freestanding. All Sit benches have arms. The seat is perforated steel supported by steel tubing. The back is perforated aluminum supported by aluminum extrusions. On the perforated aluminum side panels are welded to the end castings. Both benches have aluminum end castings. Freestanding glides are wear resistant non-marring plastic. Surface mounting plates are made of aluminum. Bench ships fully assembled. Divider Options Optional divider is a contoured cast aluminum component that fits across the seat from back to front, and must be installed at the factory. A single divider leaves 32 of seating space on either side. Two dividers leave three 21 seating spaces. Sit benches may be freestanding or surface mounted. All freestanding benches ship with wear resistant, non-marring glides. Surface mount style has factory installed plate with tab; tabs must be specified when ordered. Stay may be ordered with or without arms. The seat is perforated steel supported by steel tubing. The back is perforated aluminum supported by aluminum extrusions. All benches have aluminum end castings. End castings come with or without arms. Surface mounting plates are made of aluminum. Bench ships fully assembled. Divider Options The optional divider is a contoured cast aluminum component that fits across the seat from back to front; seat dividers may be ordered factory installed, either one or two per bench. A single divider leaves 32 of seating space on either side. Two dividers leave three 21 seating spaces. stay Stay benches may be surface mounted or embedded. A surface mount Stay features a factory installed plate with tab, and factory supplied anchor bolts. All embedded supports are fitted with four stainless steel threaded rods that slip into adhesive-filled holes drilled into the concrete base. Distinctive Mix is a modular system of connected seats and tables, designed to flexibly accommodate individuals, groups of two or three, and even larger groups. Designed by frog, these building blocks can be configured to create a variety of functional settings. Bench ships fully assembled. Durable Constructed with perforated aluminum panels, mix seats are bolted onto a structural steel beam that is integrated into the system. The support beam determines the shape of the configuration, and is tucked under in front and covered by aluminum castings at ends. Tables are the hinge that gives the system its flexibility. They come in two shapes: 120 degree inside angle and straight-sided. Mix was designed to meet BIFMA standards. 6 Suggested Groupings Basic groups can be arranged in nearly unlimited configurations. A few examples are shown on this page. Please follow the basic system rules when planning your installation. mix Mix System Rules All drawings on pages 7-10 are based on these System Rules. 1. Tables are offered with backed configurations only. 2. Backed configurations are available with 2, 3 and 4 seat straight runs. A straight table is available centered between two seats only. 3. Backed configurations are available with a mitered table in combination with 2, 3 and 4 seats. 4. Backless configurations are available in 2, 3, and 4 seat straight runs only. 5. Arms are a part of the seat frame and cannot be added on afterwards without ordering a new seat. 6. To achieve long runs, independently structured configurations may be placed end to end. 7. Backed and backless configurations use different support tube structures and are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. End and intermediate seats are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. Plan carefully and pay attention to seating directions. 8. No seat shall have an armrest on the side next to a table. 9. Tables cannot be placed at the end of a configuration. 10. Depending on the support configurations, there are up to 5 arm possibilities: No arms End arms only End and intermediate arms Intermediate arms only End arms with center arm 11. Each Mix system configuration will be ordered as a unit. Arm placements have been predetermined. See customer drawings for available options. 12. 11 Mingle Mingle is protected by U.S. Patent Nos. D 513,566; D 542,060; D 542,061; D 542,572. Seats and Supports Mingle tables are available with 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 seats. Three-seat and five-seat styles are handicap accessible. Seats are available in backed or backless styles, and in perforated metal or polycarbonate. Seat frames are made of aluminum castings and extrusions. All styles feature durable supports formed of steel tubing. Tables are compression-molded solid surface Marneaux, Steelhead, or Catena styles. Some assembly required. Seat Panels Select perforated metal or polycarbonate. backless seat, perforated metal backless seat, polycarbonate backed seat, perforated metal backed seat, polycarbonate mingle Table Top 42 in diameter and 29 high. Two seat version offers a 30 diameter tabletop. For all styles, if surface mount is specified, table must actually be surface mounted on site for stability. Steelhead Solid Catena Catena Stainless Steel Marneaux Marneaux table tops are made from non-porous, man-made 100% acrylic resin solid surface material. Marneaux is available in eleven standard colors, and additional colors for an upcharge. Steelhead and Catena table tops are formed of heavy gauge steel with reinforced channels beneath. Catena features a rolled edge; Steelhead is framed by a 1-1/2 diameter metal tube and comes in a solid top. The Catena tabletop may be ordered in standard powdercoat colors, or stainless steel. Steelhead not available on 2-seat Mingle. All table tops are available with or without umbrella holes. Umbrella hole must specified when ordered and cannot be retrofitted on site. Two-seat and three seat styles must be surface mounted. Four, five and six seat styles may be freestanding with glides or surface mounted. All tables must be surface mounted when used with any umbrella. If surface mount is specified, table must be surface mounted for stability. Note: Mingle base is shipped as a unit for ease of installation. Seats and table tops need to be attached to the support assembly on site. 14 Pitch Pitch is protected by U.S. Patent No. D 536,148. Pitch is offered in side or top opening styles. Bowl/funnel ash option available with side opening litter. These durable units feature a lift-off polyethylene top that allows easy access to the liner. Black polyethylene liner is made of 100% recycled material. All units can be installed freestanding or surface mounted. Heavy, stable cast iron base, coordinates with the perforated aluminum sides. Shipped fully assembled, with freestanding glides. 15 Chill Chill is protected by U.S. Patent No. D490,618. Seats The Chill lounge is suitable for corporate, public and urban spaces. Its sculptural form echoes the human body. Constructed of rotationally molded polyethylene, the lounge weighs 60 pounds, and has been impact tested at zero degrees Fahrenheit. Chill ships fully assembled. Chill lounge is shipped with removable surface mounting plates. The lounge may be surface mounted to hard surfaces, or placed freestanding on all surfaces. Material Rotationally molded polyethylene provides strong structure with integral color that stands up to heavy use and is easily cleaned. Molded to a wall thickness of 5/16, Chill has withstood testing under 300 pound dropped weights. 16 Shade Shade is protected by U.S. Patent No. D 516,294. Shade umbrella panels are perforated aluminum or polycarbonate, mounted in an extruded aluminum frame. Struts are extruded aluminum. Top cap, strut ring and end caps are aluminum castings. Single-piece pole, fasteners and hardware are stainless steel. Surface mount stand is steel. Shade ships with panels assembled; pole is easily installed on site. Panel Mount Aluminum and polycarbonate panels are mounted in a welded, extruded aluminum frame assembly. Surface Mount Stand includes two stainless steel bolts to hold the Shade pole in place and must be used when the Shade sun shade is not mounted to a Landscape Forms table. Anchoring hardware not included. shade Metal Finishes All metal is finished with Landscape Forms proprietary Panguard II polyester powdercoat, a hard yet flexible finish that resists rusting, chipping, peeling and fading. Call for standard color chart. Mounting When used with a Landscape Forms table, Shade must be mounted to the table unit, which in turn must be mounted to a hard surface. If used with a table other than those offered by Landscape Forms, Shade must be anchored using our surface mount stand. Shade may also be used without a table, but must be secured in our surface mount stand. Recycled Content Shade aluminum has a recycled material content of 57% or greater, polycarbonate content is 27% or greater. Both styles are 100% recyclable.
