Advantages of having a metal cased transformer: It protects the resin filling against atmospheric conditions It contains thermal expansion / contraction of the resin filling, which could cause dangerous cracks. 7 Installation Advice (see for more): Installation of the high-voltage cables Avoid accumulation of heat Wrong: - long distance between convertor and neon tubing! Wrong: - high-voltage cables installed parallel in Correct: - high-voltage cables installed at a shorter distance to the neon tubing! An accumulation of heat must be avoided by all means during installation. The distance between the convertors should therefore be at least 2 cm. Avoid additional heat by direct sunlight! The EVGs can be mounted directly on metal surfaces without any restrictions! Maintain clearance at high voltage Special advice for 5 and 8 kv convertors: When connecting long tubes, make sure that the tubes do not touch each other (Caution: high voltage sparkover)! It is always recommended to use protective end caps (silicone)! The cable must be installed at a distance from the other electrode connection! Observe maximum connectable tube length maximum tube length Correct: The maximum tube length is not exceeded. maximum tube length Wrong: The maximum value given in the tube length table has been exceeded! Do not connect more than one neon letter Correct: Connect only the tubes of one letter to the EVG! Wrong: Never combine the tubes of several letters! For 5 kv and 8 kv convertors Due to the high secondary voltage and the integrated open circuit protection, the 5 kv and 8 kv convertors are not suitable for outdoor installations! The TR models are for trailing edge dimmers suitable for electronic transformers. We can also supply different 0-10V control units and dimming systems - please call to discuss your requirements. 15 LOW VOLTAGE LED FLASHERS & DIMMERS Promo LED Technology Easy to install - connect in between a single LED power supply (between 8V and 24V DC) and give controlled outputs to the LEDS, meaning that the installation is 100% low voltage. They all have adjustable speed control. The Programmed Dimmers have level adjustments as well. Most units include protection against reverse polarity connection and short circuits.
