2 WELCOME TO THE IMPROVED RANGE OF DETA FIRE RATED DOWNLIGHTS DETA have developed a new and improved range of Fire Rated Downlights. This new range features a metal loft insulation separator above the downlight to hold the insulation away from the fitting, thereby allowing for insulation to be laid continuously without the need for additional boxing. Our range of downlights allow for installations to comply with the requirements of Building Regulations Approved Document B - Fire Safety, which details the need to inhibit the spread of fire within a dwelling. Recessed downlights effectively become part of the internal lining when installed and as such, they must not affect the fire resistance of the ceiling and must adequately resist the spread of flames. The following premises are required to conform to the building regulations and depending on the type of building, the ceilings and fittings must be fire rated to either 30, 60 or 90 minutes Residential Housing Flats Care Homes Hospitals Schools/Colleges/Universities Shops/Commercial Properties Recreational Buildings Installation of DETA s Fire Rated Downlights allows compliance to Part B - Fire Safety of the Buildings Regulations, whether a 30, 60 or 90 minute fire barrier is required. DETA s Fire Rated Downlights feature a seal which prevents air movement through the light fitting and which helps reduce the build up of condensation. The seal also provides resistance to airborne and impact sounds, allowing the building to comply with Building Regulation Part E - Resistance to the Passage of Sound. For quick and easy installation, DETA s range of Fire Rated Downlights are supplied with the correct type and rating of lamp. The range includes mains voltage, low voltage and two types of low energy, 11W compact fluorescent lamps and LED lamps, in white and warm white colour temperatures. The DETA range of Fire Rated Downlights are available in a choice of white, chrome and satin chrome finishes and in a choice of fixed, tilt and IP65 shower versions, offering maximum versatility.
