However, LCC calculations cannot give us 100% certainty, due to variables like prices of electricity and fossil fuels. Therefore, utilization of available external assistance funds was particularly desired. Application submitted in December 2016 to the Polish national operational programme Infrastructure and Environment. Total value of the application: PLN 340 million ( 81 million/usd 93million), including PLN 180 million of EU funding and PLN 160 million from MZA sbudget. Scope of the application: m buses(pln 325 million), aerialchargerswith accompanyinginvestmentsin19 locations(pln 14 million). 9

10 Other bus operators in Warsaw/Conclusion <30% of bus lines in the transportation system of Warsaw agglomeration controlled by ZTM is operatedby privatecompanies. ZTM transport authority announcestendersfor operationof those lines. Tender from 2016 withtotalvalueof PLN 340 millionregarding 50 buseswas first time including such an extent environmental criteria. Therefore, only offers for EV/HEV buses were submitted. For future next such tenders including environmental criteria are envisaged; therefore, around 2020 evenmorethancurrentlyexpected212 EV/HEV busesmaybe operationalinwarsaw, constituting >13% of stockinztm system! 10

15 New Warsaw housing policy until 2030 It is planned to be adopted by the City Council this year. The Housing Policy will be based on four segments: A. social flats subsidized flats. This includes social projects and assisted housing (training housing for the homeless, protected housing for adult orphans, etc.) B. subsidized community flats are affordable flats for people with low income. C. community flats built by Warsaw Community Housing Association (TBS) are flats for people with the income higher than the maximum required for sector B, yet not as high as to afford their own flat. D. flats for rent offered in a very good standard and built by private companies. 15

20 Sharing Cities SHAR-LLM Call SCC The largesth2020 Warsaw sproject(35 partners, EU financing- 25 million, totalbudget- 28 million). Lighthousecities London(coordinator), Lisbon, Milan. Followercities Bordeaux, Burgas, Warsaw. SHAR-LLM is a proving ground for better, common designs which cause industry and cities to collaborate internationally; which will result in affordable solutions; which help cities and society collaborate locally and build more trusting relationships. 3 demonstrator areas(greenwich, downtown Lisbon, Milan s Porta Romana) with implementation of smart cities solutions(energy management systems, RES, e-mobility, urbandata platform ). Follower cities analyze these solutions and adapt to their local circumstances. 20

21 Sharing Cities SHAR-LLM Impact of the project already felt in solutions implemented in Warsaw, e.g.: Institutionalization of smart cities thinking within the city structures(examples from London, Lisbon or Bordeaux), Electricbikes(Milan), Testing building energy management systems(all 3 lighthouse cities). Eventhoughimplementationof somemodelsremainsdifficultdueto circumstances external to the project and partially external to Warsaw (likemodernizationof streetlightingin public-privatepartnership, likeallppp projectsverychallengingto implementin Polishconditions). While some still remain at a very preliminary stage, so require further conceptual supportfrom SharingCitiesand othersources(likeworkon urbandata platform availablefor citizens). And some need first further testing in lighthouse cities (autonomous vehicles in London-Greenwich). 21
