Where provisions of the following supplementary data differ from those of the original Contract Documents, this Addendum shall take precedence. Bidders shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum on their Bid Form. 1. GENERAL BIDDING: For clarification, the sealed bids shall be marked as follows: Y Building Learning Commons Renovation Remodel Sealed Bid #07-19F DO NOT OPEN PRIOR TO Monday October 29, 2018, 1:00pm 2. GENERAL BIDDING: Each Bidder shall include an Allowance of $30,000 in their bid. This Allowance shall be used for testing the existing concrete slab and moisture mitigation (if required). This Allowance shall be listed as a separate line item on the future Contractor s Schedule of Values. Any unused amount of this Allowance shall be returned to Santa Fe College by a deductive change order during construction. 3. ADDENDUM ONE: Refer to Item 4. For clarification, on Owner provided materials the Contractor warranty requirements shall be for installation for a period of one year from the date of substantial completion. 4. SANTA FE COLLEGE GENERAL: For clarification, an asbestos survey is underway and any necessary abatement will be accomplished separately by Santa Fe College before demolition and construction begin. 5. SANTA FE COLLEGE INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: Please note the Umbrella policy limit shown on page 17 of the Instructions to Bidders shows a $10,000,000 limit, while the sample Certificate of Insurance listed $5,000,000. For clarification, a $5,000,000 limit of the Umbrella policy is acceptable for this project. 6. SANTA FE COLLEGE INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: Refer to the SUB-CONTRACTORS LIST Form f. For clarification, the proposed subcontractor s license numbers are not required at the time of the bid. The license numbers will be required of the successful bidder prior to the notice to proceed. Provided the design intent and specification requirements are met, SUNFLEX SF45 as manufactured by SUNFLEX is an acceptable substitution to the specified system. 9. Provide valves of same make for these services. B. Other valves: acceptable manufacturers and Figure Number listed under each item. C. Valves 2 and smaller, in steel piping shall have threaded ends. D. Valves 2 and smaller, in copper piping shall have solder ends. E. Provide valve stem extensions with sufficient length to allow for insulation where insulation is specified. 2.2 BALL VALVES: A. 2 and Smaller: 1. Nibco Fig. T(S) , Apollo No. 70, Watts, Milwaukee BA-150, Hammond, Kitz or Anvil 2. ASTM B584 bronze body, chrome plated brass/bronze or stainless-steel ball, full port for 3/4" and smaller and conventional port for 1 and larger, Teflon seat rings, blowout-proof stem, 2- piece construction psi WOG, 150 psi SWP Valves Bid/Permit Documents

4 2.3 SHUT-OFF VALVES: A. 2" and Smaller: ball valves as specified in this Section 2.4 BALANCING VALVES: A. 2 and Smaller: calibrated balancing valves: 1. Variable orifice with multiple turn valve type as manufactured by Armstrong Series CBV or ABV, Tour & Andersson (Victaulic) Series 786 or 787, NIBCO 1709 or 1710, or fixed orifice with ball valve type as manufactured by Flow Design Inc. (FDI), Preso, Gerand, Nexus, HCi or Taco. 2. Bronze body, 250 psi maximum working pressure, 250 F maximum operating temperature. 3. Furnish valve with adjustable memory stop and quick disconnect taps with built-in check valve for pressure differential measurement, integral valve setting index and memory locking device. 4. Valves shall measure down to 0.3 gpm with accuracy of ± 3%. 5. Valves shall be leak-tight at full rated working pressure. 6. Unless otherwise indicated, size balancing valves so that at design flow rate, pressure drop across balancing valve with valve approximately 50% open will be at minimum 25% of reading range of meter used for balancing. B. Contractor shall furnish meter for calibration and shall retain meter after final calibration. 2.5 DRAIN VALVES: A. Ball valve as specified above with hose thread adapter and cap. 1. Provide 1/2" ball valve for 1/2" piping. 2. Provide 3/4" minimum ball valve for piping larger than 1/2". 3. Strainer blowdown valves shall be blowdown connection size. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 GENERAL A. Install valves as shown on plans, details and according to manufacturer's installation recommendations. B. After piping systems have been pressure tested and put into service, but before final adjusting and balancing, inspect valves for leaks. Adjust, replace packing or replace valves to stop leaks. C. Install control valves furnished under Control Systems. Provide increaser and decreaser fittings as required. D. Refer to Section , Part 3 for reducing fittings requirement for valves smaller than pipe size. 3.2 BALL VALVES A. Provide ball valves for piping 2 and smaller. 3.3 SHUT-OFF VALVES A. Provide shut-off valves at all equipment, at riser take-offs at each floor, and at each automatic valve for servicing. B. Provide shut-off valves in heating hot water branch piping that serves three or more reheat coils. Valves Bid/Permit Documents

5 3.4 BALANCING VALVES A. Provide balancing valves where indicated on drawings and as required for complete balancing of water systems. B. Provide straight inlet and outlet pipe length in accordance with manufacturer's recommendation. 3.5 DRAIN VALVES A. Section includes control valves, dampers and actuators for systems as shown in Contract Documents and where provide by equipment manufacturer except where otherwise noted. 1.2 RELATED WORK A. Actuators a. Torque capacities b. Size calculations PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 CONTROL VALVES: A. General: Control Valves, Dampers and Actuators Bid/Permit Documents

7 1. Use 2 port (normally open or closed based on sequence of operation) or 3 port ball type valves for control unless otherwise noted. B. Ball Valves (Hot Water and Cooling Coil Applications) 1. Valves shall be bronze or brass body, 150 psi rating. Ball valves larger than 4 are not permitted. 2. Valves shall have stainless steel ball and stem, valve stem seals with dual EPDM O-Rings, rangeability must be greater than 150:1, and shall have equal percentage flow characteristics. 2.2 DAMPER AND VALVE ACTUATORS A. Damper and valve actuators shall be electric type. B. Analog Electronic: 1. Actuators shall be electric motor/gear drives which respond proportionally to analog voltage or current input. Stroke time for terminal equipment shall be compatible with its associated local controller, but no more than 6 minutes. 2. Reheat terminal units a. Utilize factory assembled ball valve with horizontal mount; non-spring return proportional actuator (0-10 Vdc, 0-5Vdc, or 4-20ma). b. Electric actuator installed on ball valves shall have a separate and distinct operating handle used to position the valve into any desired position once power is removed or a valve failure occurs. c. Similar to Belimo B2 CCV Series valve/actuators 3. Provide standard cable from actuator to controller unit. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 CONTROL VALVES: A. Furnish control valves as shown on drawings and/or as required to perform control sequence specified. B. Coordinate the installation of control valves. C. Control valves furnished by this contractor shall be installed Division 23 Contractor under coordinating control and supervision of this Contractor. D. Sizing: 1. Select control valves to meet their intended service without cavitations. Provide cavitation calculations for modulating globe control valves over 250 F and all modulating butterfly valves over 60 F. 2. Valve body ratings indicated in Part 2 are minimum required. Valve body, trim and packing selected shall be designed to withstand maximum pressure and temperature encountered in the systems. 3. Submit engineering calculations used for sizing modulating control valves. Control valves serving terminal devices may be sized based on flow ranges for each pump system. 4. Calculations for sizing modulating valves shall be based on actual characteristics of equipment and system being installed. a. Valve calculations shall include information such as pump head or available pressure; branch piping circuit losses including all pipe, fittings, valves, and coils; flow rates; and pressure losses of other in-line devices. b. Obtaining adequate system information necessary for sizing valves. Control Valves, Dampers and Actuators Bid/Permit Documents

8 5. Design criteria for sizing modulating valves shall be based on two port, or 3 port, fail open or fail closed, as shown on plans, equal percentage valves unless otherwise specified. 6. Size three-way mixing or diverting valves not directly associated with pump sub-circuit, for 3-5 psi pressure drop. 7. Terminal reheat control valves shall be ball type and shall be selected for a minimum of 25% of equipment subcircuit pressure drop, but not more than maximum available pump head allowing minimum 2 psi drop for balance valve. 8. Select control valves based on pressure drop calculations using Cv values at 100% stroke. 9. Subcircuit is defined as all branch supply and return piping to terminal device, including all valve, coil, control valves, and balance valve. 3.2 ACTUATORS: A. Provide actuator for each automatic damper or valve with sufficient capacity to operate damper or valve under all conditions. B. Select actuators to provide tight shut off against maximum system temperatures and pressure encountered. C. Valve and damper operating speeds shall be selected or adjusted so operators will remain in step with controller without hunting regardless of load variations. D. Provide proper linkage and brackets for mounting and attaching actuators to devices. Design mounting and/or support to provide no more than 5% hysteresis in either direction (actual movement of valve stem/damper shaft/ideal movement) due to deflection of actuator mounting.
