3 Item/Issue Operating manual for tools and lifting devices Engine Types concerned: All four-stroke engines produced by MAN Diesel & Turbo SE Augsburg During our routine observation of our tools and lifting devices we updated our technical documentation to the current state of art. Therefore please have a look at the updated manual files, provided by MAN Diesel & Turbo SE: For example: View of the file list when opening the link: The following download link will lead you to your related technical documentation / update: Page 3 of 8

4 Item/Issue Testing procedure for lube oil sensor Engine Types concerned: L+V32/44CR, L+V48/60B, L+V48/60CR, V48/60TS, L+V51/60DF The branch connection to the lube oil sensor and respective testing block is equipped with a hand lever which can manually be arrested in either open or closed position. The test block carries several sensors which need to be checked regarding functionality. Before checking these sensors, the hand lever has to be arrested in close-position before the check procedure can be carried out (see work card M _EN, EA _EN). After finishing the test, the hand lever has to be turned back into open-position. Otherwise the lube oil sensors will not be able to measure a pressure drop in case of lube oil lack with the consequence of insufficient lube oil supply for the engine. We want to emphasize the need to apply the correct test procedure to ensure a reliable and safe engine operation. Please find an updated working card under the following download link: Page 4 of 8

Therefore the maximum torque could exceed during usage, resulting in a too high stress in some parts of the device. In unlikely cases this could lead to a mechanical failure of the tool. MAN Diesel & Turbo decided to update the working instruction for the above mentioned tool by adding the maximum allowable torque. Please check whether this tool belongs to your equipment and assure, that the working instruction will be observed during usage. By means of the list related engines, the correct torque as well as drawings and work cards can be matched to your specific engine. These are available under the following link: Page 5 of 8

6 Item/Issue Fitting and removing device for fuel pump drive Engine Types concerned: L+V48/60CR Please also note the related engine numbers below: and x xxx , , , 569, , , 807, , , , , , and x xxx , , , , 834 The permitted load specification for the assembly device of the fuel pump drive is not attached. An overload of the tool could cause high stresses in some parts of the device and lead to a mechanical failure of the tool. As a proactive measure MAN Diesel & Turbo SE will provide you with a load capacity plate in case this device is used. We may ask you to inform your technical personnel and fix it directly to the device. Page 6 of 8

7 Item/Issue Mechanical switch for turning device Engine Types concerned: V48/60, L51/60DF Please also note the related engine numbers below: and x xxx , , 307, 327, 339, 363, , , , 458, During our continuous monitoring of our product and its handling, we would like to provide you with information regarding the turning device. Although it is very unlikely, but could be possible, that the engine can be started even if the turning device is arrested, due to a malfunction of the limit switch. Therefore our advice is to check the position of the limit switch at the turning device and adjust it according to the mounting requirement / sequence if necessary.
