5 The federation of Norwegian Industry NORSOK owners jointly goal for the petroleum standardisation: Ensure a satisfactory level of safety. Increase the use of international standards. Reduce the use of special Norwegian requirements Reduce the need for company-specific requirements. Ensure that standards represent cost-effective solutions. Strengthen the competitiveness of the Norwegian continental shelf. 5

6 The federation of Norwegian Industry The purpose with the Norsok analysis project has been: Evaluate each Norsok standard against the given standardisation goals Priorities and categories standards as follows: to be withdrawn to be proposed as international standards, i.e. ISO and IEC to be retained as Norsok standards However, the final decisions related to each NORSOK standard "destiny will be made in the Sector board petroleum in Standards Norway The recommendation from project has been presented and got general support from all parties in the Board 6

14 The Federation of Norwegian Industry Summary All NORSOK standards have been evaluated according to the goal/project criteria and a clear direction forward is proposed for each standard The industry have been broadly engaged and the competence about standards and standardisation has been enhanced on all levels The project have shown that the experienced cost growth at the Norwegian Continental Shelf to a limited extent can be related to the NORSOK standards NORSOK standards portfolio is updated except; Z-documentation standards S-002 Working environment, planned publication September 2017 Promote development and use of common accepted standards without Company specific requirements 14
