13 TECHNOLOGY PLASTICS LIGHTWEIGHT SYSTEM INTEGRATION The comparatively flat oil pan for the new boxer engine consists of three polyamide parts and was designed specifically to match the special shape of the engine and accommodate the largest possible quantity of oil.
