1 Ref ID: GIS Reporting in Parks Aldermen Hairston and Cappleman asked if it was possible to implement a GIS-grid based reporting system for 311 & 911 and how much that functionality would cost. Under the current system, service requests that are submitted directly to the 311 system require a valid address in order to be processed. For service requests that come through third party applications such as See-Click-Fix, the GPS location from the user s phone is captured and submitted as the address of the request. The accuracy of the location captured is dependent on the GPS tool used by the third party developers. There are known accuracy issues related to these GPS tools, however, the City does not control what GPS tools the third party developers utilize, making implementing an improvement to the current situation extremely difficult.

2 Ref ID: Ward Superintendents Swiping Alderman Hairston asked if it was possible to develop an interface so that ward superintendents can swipe into biometric hand scanners at city locations other than their assigned ward offices. It is not necessary to develop a technical solution to allow Ward Superintendents to swipe at locations other than their assigned ward office. Assignment to specific biometric hand scanners is managed by the Department of Finance, Division of Payroll Management. The Department of Streets and Sanitation can work with the Department of Finance to request any changes to specific assignment of biometric hand scanners.
