It is particularly useful for recessing angle iron or extrusions to accept locks, catches, etc. It can also be used to advantage for performing small milling operations on mechanical component parts and as a milling, drilling and centering machine. The outstanding feature of this machine is its versatility and the various movements make many machining operations possible with speed and efficiency. All movements are quick and controlled by adjustable stops, thus enabling repetitive accurancy on production. The cutting head is fitted on a movable support arm that rotates from 0 to 90 around the vice, thereby allowing milling operations at an angle to the axis of the workpiece. Locking of the head and carriages on the Arfo Brown machine are rapidly and easily performed and therefore setting up time is reduced to a minimum.
