1 Turbine flow meter - LWGY 1. Overview LWGY liquid turbine flow meters Turbine flow sensor and receiving from the electrical pulse signal composed of intelligent display devices. Used to measure the low-viscosity liquids in closed conduits instantaneous volume flow and volume in petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, aviation and scientific research departments have been widely used. LWGY liquid turbine flow sensor from the turbine body and preamplifier. Display Instrument developed and manufactured by our company using SMIT-E-Y01 Intelligent Flow Totalizer. The flow meter JG test the implementation of national regulations and Q/12KF LWGY Series Turbine Flowmeter enterprise standard. 2. Working principle

2 Sensor is based on the torque balance theory, when the liquid flows through the sensor, in the special structure of rectifiers (D1) to be rectified under the action and speed, due to turbine blades and fluid flow into a certain angle, in accelerating the fluid under the action of the impeller (D2) produce rotational torque to overcome friction torque and fluid resistance, the turbine begins to rotate, to a certain flow range, the turbine's rotational speed and flow rate is proportional to volume flow. Impeller rotating-cut magnetic lines, periodically changing the coil (D3) in the magnetic flux, so that both ends of the coil sensor and the volume of fluid flow is proportional to the pulse signal, the signal after amplification, filtering, reconstructive surgery into the Flow Totalizer (A) to computing processing, and display on the LCD on the spot. 2.3 Installation dimension There are two types of installation according to different model, screwed connection and flange connection. 5 Note: Flowmeters can be installed horizontally or vertically, the vertical installation must be an upward flow direction. Liquid should be filled with pipes, without air bubbles. Installation, the liquid flow direction should be indicated on the flow sensor housing consistent with the direction of the arrow. Sensor should be at least 20 times the upstream end of the nominal diameter length of straight pipe upstream and downstream side of not less than five times the nominal diameter of straight tube sections, the wall should be smooth and clean, no dents, fouling, and from skin defects. Sensor pipe axis should be aligned with the axis of the adjacent channels to connect gasket seal shall not be used for in-depth pipeline cavity. Sensors should stay away from the outside electric and magnetic fields, if necessary, shielding should be effective measures to prevent external interference. In order to repair when the liquid will not affect the normal transport, the proposed installation at the sensor, install bypass pipes. Sensor open-air installation, please do amplifier and plug the waterproofing treatment. Sensor and display instrument wiring as shown in Figure 4. When the fluid contains impurities, they should install filters, filter mesh flow of impurities according to the case may be, generally 20 to 60 mesh. When the fluid mixed with free gas, should be retrofitted with cool down devices. The entire piping system should be a good seal. Users should fully understand the medium measured corrosion, prevent sensor corroded. 5. Using and adjustment During using,please keep the liquid measured clean without impurities which are fiber, granular and so on. During using sensor,the sensor is slowly filled with liquid,then you open the outlet valve and sensor is strictly prohibited without the liquid state by the impact of high-speed fluid. The maintenance cycle of the sensor is generally six months. During maintenance and cleaning, please note not damaging the parts in the measuring chamber, specifically impeller. During mounting, please look out the relationship of position about the oriented parts and impeller. When the sensor is not used,please clean the inner liquid,and fix lagging at both ends of sensor to prevent dust and dirt entering,and then store them in the dry place. The equipped filter should be cleaned on regular. The transmission cable of the sensor can be in the air or in ground.(putting iron pipe on it for grounding.) Before the mounting of the sensor,firstly connect it with the displaying meter or oscilloscope and supply power. Blow or slide the impeller to rotate it fast and view whether the displaying meter displays, or not. If it does, mount the sensor; if it does not, please check the relative parts and exclude failure.

6 6 丹东市德鼎工贸科技有限公司 5.1 Main technical parameters (1) Displaying mode: Double LCD displaying,the mode is as follows: L XXX.X four digits instantaneous flow(m 3 /h) XX.XXXXXX eight digits accumulated flow(m 3 ) (2) Low power consumption system: A battery of Li whose parameter is 3.3V10AH can be used for more than five years. (3) The accumulated flow : Automatically enlarge the precision of displaying and reset the accumulated flow. (4) The coefficient of the meter:setting in the field. (5) Power-Off Protection:The coefficient and accumulated of flow. 5.2 The operational way of three point coefficient with double LCD displaying:(:(:(:( Only authorized engineers for the operation) Before opening the cover,press key F and key simultaneously,and then the meter enter into the state of setting value. At this time the first digit on the first row displays 1,and the remaining four digits are set to the frequency of the sensor at this point.the below row is the coefficient of the meter and the format is XXXXX.XX. Firstly the maximum bit blinks and this bit will be set to the required value by pressing.pressing key,the blinking bit shifts to right and setting this value of this bit by pressing. When the blinking bit shifts to the last bit, you can reset this parameter by pressing key ; If there is no failure, please press key F,and you can enter into the next coefficient setting with the first row displaying 2, the remaining setting is above. If there is no failure, please press key F,and you can enter into the next coefficient setting with the first row displaying 3, the remaining setting is above. If you continue pressing F,the forth parameter of the meter is full-scale flow.at this moment, assignment of 20mA corresponds to the flow of full-scale value to this point, eg: 4mA is 250 L/h, and it can be set to 250; If it is set to 50, 50L / h automatically corresponds to 20mA. After setting parameter without any failure,simultaneously press F to return to working state, the first row displays instantaneous flow in five digits, and the second one displays accumulated flow in eight digits. In the state of working,press key F and key simultaneously,and you can reset the accumulated 7 flow. In the factory the parameter is ok,and generally you don t require adjustment. If it is in the condition of normal using,the remote output current has tolerance compared with the theoretical value, and adjust the adjustable resistance on the circuit board by the following method : Before opening the cover, please remove the circuit board and there are two adjustable resistances on the bottom circuit board, adjusting V3 assignment to 4mA ;adjusting V4 assignment to 20mA and note that the amplitude is not too large. After adjusting,please install following the factory.

Maintenance and Common failure Item The general failure and solution is shown in Table 3 and the cycle is less than half year. 表 ( 三 ) Failure No flow or testing signal The LCD displays the calibration signal but no flow signal. LCD is not stable, Incorrect measurement. Cause 1. Power is not connective or supply power is not enough. 2. LCD is broken. 1. The connection between sensor and displaying is wrong, open-circuit, short-circuit, loose contact and so on. 2. Amplifier failure 3. Converter (coil) is open or short circuit. 4. Impeller is stuck. No fluid flow or blockage of pipelines. 1. The accrual flow exceeds the scope of measurement or unstable state. 2. Wrong coefficient K value. 3. Fiber and other impurities are on the sensor. 4. Liquid with bubble. 5. Strong electromagnetic field interference near the sensor. 6. The bearing and axis of sensor is damaged strongly. 7. Sensor cable shield or other grounding wire disconnected or poor contact with the ground line. 8. Meter failure. Solution 1. Connect the power, and supply the power required. 2. Repair the instrument. 1. Contrast with attached figure 4, check the connection. 2. Repair and replace the amplifier or coil. 3. Clean the sensor and pipeline. Open the valve to clean the pipe. 1. Please make the actual flow accord with the scope of measurement and have an stable flow. The setting of coefficient is right. 2. Clean the sensor. 3. Eliminate the bubble. 4. Please stay away from the interference and take measure to shield. 5. Change oriented part or impeller axis. 6. Contrast with attached figure 4, make the line well. 7. Testing the displaying instrument. If users comply with the specification of the factory to use and store, from the date of shipment from the factory within one year, if the sensor can t work due to manufacturing, the factory is free of charge to repair. 8. Transport Storage 8.1 The sensor must be put into the strong wooden case (the meter of small dimension can use carton) without any shifting and during handling, please handle with care and not allow rough handling. 8.2 The condition for storage: a. Avoiding rain and moisture. b. No mechanical vibration or shock. c. Temperature range :-20 ~+55. d. The relative humidity is less than 80%. e. No corrosive gases.
