Joint distribution pedestal / General The MCM Base is a device added at the bottom of a lamp post which allows for the connection of surrounding homes with power (120/240V) and telecom (Tel.

2 Joint distribution pedestal / General The MCM Base is a device added at the bottom of a lamp post which allows for the connection of surrounding homes with power (120/240V) and telecom (Tel. + Cable TV) We may use the MCM Base for the following: - 120/240V connections (residential) up to 400A each (Hydro-Québec Standard B.41.21, drawing revision E); - telephone and cable TV connections (residential), - municipal protection devices (lighting) and other electrical or control devices. - the lamp posts to be installed on the JDP's must first be approved by MCM, see this list of certified suppliers: LUMEC, CYCLONE, BCL, SNOC, QUATTRO, STRESSCRETE, SDL LIGHTING and LUMCA. House side The MCM Base comprises two main parts: The cabinet and the sub-base (this specification sheet only concerns the cabinet) MCM Bolt Cap (optional) Overall dimensions (no bumper) : Height: 1416,5 mm (55,75") Dia.: 445 (17,5") at doors level Weight: approximately 180 kg (400 lb). Materials: Structure : steel 9,5 mm (3/8 "), Envelope : Cast aluminium (min. thickness 4 mm) Note: To get a stainless steel envelope (min. thickness 2 mm), please contact MCM. Finishes: Structure : epoxy primer and super durable 60 degrees luster polyester finish (Test 1500 hrs+); Envelope : epoxy primer and super durable polyester finish, either textured or smooth (res.: 2000 hrs) Choice of colors Installation: The cabinet is bolted on the sub-base using four threaded rods 19 mm diam.(3/4") galvanized (included with sub-base). An aluminium bumper completes this installation. A sealed temporary cover closes the top of the cabinet until the eventual installation of the lamp post above. Notes: Contact MCM for structural specifications enquiries. Bumpers have to be installed in the same axis as the hinges. Cabinet and sub-base fixture hardware is included.
