4 Safety - General Before start-up, ake sure that all drive equipent guards are located and secured properly. Before disantling: Know the liquid puped with the pup, and take the neccesary precautions. Make sure that the drive unit has been ade non-operational. Pressure ust be vented fro pup casing and valve (if equipped with such). Failure to coply to the above safety guidelines, ay result in serious injury or death! Safety - Before operating the pup Before operating the pup, be sure that it and all parts of the syste to which it is connected are clean and free fro debris and that all valves in the suction and discharge pipelines are fully opened. Ensure that all piping connecting to the pup is fully supported and correctly aligned with its relevant connections. Misalignent and/or excess loads will cause severe pup daage. This could result in unexpected echanical contact in the pup head and has the potential to be an ignition source. Safety - Mounting The ounting of the pup or pup unit should be solid and stable. Pup orientation ust be considered in relation to drainage / cavity ventilation requireents. Once ounted, shaft drive eleents ust be checked for correct alignent. Rotate pup shaft by at least one full revolution to ensure soothness of operation. Incorrect alignent will produce excessive loading and will create high teperatures and increased noise eissions. Do not use any drive arrangeents that cause side loading of the drive shaft. It ay also be necessary to earth the pup head to avoid the bulid up of a potential charge difference that could cause a spark. 4

5 Warrenty DAE SUNG Industry Pup Co., Ltd. warrents all products anufactured by it to be free fro defects in workanship and/or aterial, for a period of two () years fro date of start-up, provided that in no event shall this warrenty extend ore than eighteen (8) onths fro the date of shipent fro DAE SUNG Industry Pup Co., Ltd. If, during said warrenty period, any products sold by DAE SUNG Industry Pup Co., Ltd. prove to be defective in workanship and/or aterial under noral use and service, and if such products are returned to DAE SUNG Industry Pup Co., Ltd. facilities in Korea, transportation charges prepaid, and if the products are found by DAE SUNG Industry Pup Co., Ltd. to be deffective in workanship and/or aterial, they will be replaced or repaired free of charge, FOB Busan KOREA. 6 Application - When to use the Mono-Flex? The Mono-Flex is designed specifically for applications where you face the following extree conditions: * Waste-water with sludge, Excretions fro fars. * Sewage disposal tank, Wetted soil fro foreshore. * Paste, Salted fish, Salted shrips, Milk, Beverage. * Sulfuric acid, Ferrous sulfate, Cuprous sulphide, Hydrochloric acid, Ferrous chloride, Nitric acid, dyes, Phosphoric acid, Acetic acid, Caustic soda and other Cheicals. * Abrasive edias. * Lubricant, Oil, DOP, Various waste oil, Petroleu oil, Light oil, Thinner, Gasoline, Cutting oil, Fresh oil, Rolling oil and Other oils. Specifications - Function. The M-flex pup is a positive-displaceent pup taking advantage of centrifugal force, which projects liquid when its ipeller wings are bended while the wings ebracing liquid revolve.. As the space between first wing and the interior surface of the pup gradually expands, it sucks in liquid. While continuing revolution, the wing projects out the liquid, starting fro fourth wing position, and then as the space gradually contracts, the wing throws out the reainder liquid while being bended. 3. It facilitates low rp puping under its repeative operation. A constant volue can be puped by adjusting inflow volue with a ball valve attached to the inlet, and a constant volue can be transferred by adjusting the rp. 6

8 Specifications - Codefication When requesting for details on a supplied pup, the serial nuber is iportant. Allways state the serial nuber, to ensure that you get the correct inforations. The serial nuber is stated on the pup nae plate, but is also punched into the top surface of the pup casing (between the two ports). Below you will find the DAE SUNG codefication syste, which will allow you to know the exact specifications on your pup. 11 The - NPSH A pipe syste The DAE SUNG DS-R is norally used in ediu to high viscosity applications. This akes it neccesary to ensure that the edia source is located close to the pup, feeding by gravity, or that an in-feed device is used. As a "rule of thub", the systes NPSHA (Net Positive Suction Head) should be no less than 7lc. If less than this value, the pup ay cavitate; the pup is being "starved". This will increase wear, as this eans that interittent dry-running will occur. The DS-R is capable of withstanding this, but it will increase the wear rate and power cost for no reason. The road to a low "Life Cycle Cost" (LCC): * Use large diaeter pipe. * Use as few bends and fittings as possible. * Use large radius bends. * Avoid unneccesary restrictions on the suction side. Contact your DAE SUNG representative for deterining the NPSHA of your pipe syste The pipe syste - Miniizing pressure loss Miniizing pressure loss is essential. There is nothing to loose in working hard to obtain the lowest possible pressure - there is everything to win: Bigger pipe diaeter, but with a lower pressure rating: a cost effective pipe syste. Less power consuption. Less noise. Higher safety. Less wear. Saller, and less costly, pup unit ay be used. Setting up the correct pipe syste is a "once in a lifetie" expenditure. The electricity and the spares parts needed, will be a life-tie on-going cost. Miniize pressure, and you will iniize running cost in the coplete syste life span.

12 The pipe syste - Ensure priing When facing pipe systes with long and restricted suction lines, a "S-pipe" ay be required on the suction side of the pup. This will ensure that the pup is allways liquid filled at start-up, and priing will be ensured. Installation - Alignent All DAE SUNG pup units are supplied alligned on a U-channel base frae - unless otherwise specified by the user. Despite the use of a very rigid base frae design, soe flexing ay have occured during transportation, as well as when being ounted on the typical concrete base. Therefore, the pup unit coponents ust be alligned, so that the flexible coupling connecting drive and pup will not be overloaded, as well as to iniize stress iposed on each coponent. The alignent of the pup and drive are done by using a straightedge on the coupling half-parts. The deviation ust not exceed 0.0. The alignent is done by inserting / reoving shis underneath the coponent. The axial clearance ust be 3 between the two shaft half-parts. Installation - Pup & Pipe connection Avoid to put any uneccesary stress on the pup and pipe syste, when connecting the two. Make sure that pipe and pup are alligned properly. Use bolts of quality 4.6 (yield stress), to avoid overstressing especially cast iron flanges on the pup. The bolts ust be tightened uniforly. Bolt torque: Bolt size - M - M6 - M Cast Iron N 7N 4N Steel / Stainless Steel 80N 0N 38N For sanitary application. we used the Ferrule connect, DIN union and SMS union. Make sure of Sanitary port type, diensions and connection of piping.

Wrong direction of rotation ay be caused the incorrect connection of electric wires. 14 Before the start-up, the following ust be checked:. The pup gearbox is filled with the correct grade of oil, to the correct level, using the level glass.. The seal fluid chaber is filled with the correct grade of fluid, to the correct level, using the level glass. 3. The external seal flushing syste, if fitted, is working. 4. The gearbox (gearotor) is filled with the correct grade of oil, to the correct level.. The teperature sensor, if fitted, are ounted correctly. 6. The seal fluid level pressure gauge, if fitted, are ounted correctly. 7. That a safety valve is fitted on the pressure line. 8. That the pup casing is liquid filled. 9. That valves on suction- and pressure side has been opened. 0. That onitoring and safety systes are engaged and functionable.. Correct direction of rotation are ensured (jog the pup before start-up to check).. Don't dry running over seconds. After start-up, the following ust be checked:. There is flow according to initial calculations.. There is pressure within the possibilities of the pup, and the initial calculations/ estiates. 3. There is no cavitation (knocking sounds ay indicate cavitation). 4. There is not excessive power consuption.. The seal fluid pressure is close to atospheric pressure, if fitted with a pressure gauge. Shut-down Ensure that fluids will not solidify inside the pup casing, as this ay cause daage when re-starting. Fluids can be drained out of the drain ounted in the botto af the casing. Close off the suction side valve, in order to avoid the inlet pressure aking the pup rotate. 4

15 Maintenance - Disantling & Assebly Before any aintenance takes place: Shut down the syste. Make sure that power is not connected, and can not accidently be re-connected. The power switch MUST be physically locked. Close shut-off valves on both sides of the pup. Wear protective clothing and googles, if required due to the puped edia. Turn off heating systes, in tie for the syste to cool down. All aintenance work should be carried out by skilled craftsen only. Coply to the general DAE SUNG INDISTRY PUMP CO., LTD. safety guidelines. See the chapter "Start-up" for locations of fluids, and levels. Failure to coply to the above safety guidelines, ay result in serious injury or death! When to replace parts, are deterined by the perforance of the pup. If the perforance drops to an unacceptable level, replaceents ust take place. When the user has gained experience with the application, a fixed "Tie Between Overhaul" (TBO) can be set. The aintenance can be divided into two categories and subcategories:. General in-line aintenance. A). Replacing rotors. B). Replacing dynaic seals (excl. shaft oil seal, aft section).. Overhaul. The pup is taken out of the pipe syste. A). Rebuilding the pup: rotors, gearbox, seal systes e.t.c. Before assebly, all coponents ust be thoroughly cleaned, leaving no etal or lubricants behind. In the following text we will show how these tasks are best perfored, with a iniu of down-tie. Please note, that DAE SUNG service staff will allways be able to assist you on-site, to iniize the total cost involved in any aintenance work.

16 Maintenance - General in-line aintenance A). Replacing Ipeller.-Industry Type Untighten the front screws. 3 Pull out the screws. 4 Extract the cover fro casing, also extract o-ring. Pull out the used ipeller. 6 Extract the used ipeller, and prepare the new ipeller. 6

17 Maintenance - General in-line aintenance B). Replacing Ipeller.-Sanitary type Untighten the clap screws. 3 4 Extract the cover fro casing, also extract o-ring. Pull out the used ipeller. 6 Extract the used ipeller, and prepare the new ipeller. 7

18 C). For replacing dynaic seals (Industry) Unscrew the screws. 3 The casing detach fro the casing rear cover. 4 Detach the casing rear cover fro housing. Also pull out the o-rings fro groove of housing. Unscrew the screws of the retainer due to replace the seal. 6 Pull out the seal parts on the shaft. 8

19 D). For replacing dynaic seals (Sanitary) Unscrew the clap screw due to detach. 3 Extract the front cover and o-ring. 4 Detach the casing and ipeller fro housing. Unscrew the screws due to detach the rear cover fro the housing. 6 Extract the rear cover and o-ring. 9

20 Drain out the dynaic seal lubricant fro the seal housing before replacing the dynaic seal. PLEASE NOTE ; If the seals are to be re-used, be very carefull not to daage the sliding surfaces. Do not touch the sliding surfaces with you bare fingers; use clean rubber gloves to avoid any grease on the surfaces. Any grease left behind y burn solid onto the surfaces and cause leaks. Fill-up with lubricant, and perfor the procedures described in the chapter "Start-up". For the first one hour of operation, the pup should be onitored to detect any leak.

21 Maintenance - Overhaul To perfor a coplete overhaul, the pup ust be brought off-line. The overhaul procedure should take place in a heated and ventilated work shop. The workshop ust contain standard tools, as well as preferably a bench press for installing bearings. Ball Bearing Ball Bearing Oil Seal Bearing Housing Shaft Press ball bearings onto shafts. Mount oil seal, shafts in the bearing housing. Oil seal Snap Ring Mount the snap-ring in the assigned groove of housing. And ount the oil-seal onto the shaft.

22 ? 3 Mechanical Seal Mount echanical seal set onto shafts. 4 Casing Rear Cover Retainer Ring Screw Seal Mount the seal, o-ring, retainer on the rear cover. And tighten the screws.

26 Maintenance - Asseble Sanitary type Press ball bearings onto shafts. Mount oil seal, sanp ring, shafts in the housing. Mount the oil-seal, echanical seal onto shaft. Mount the o-ring, rear cover on housing. 3 And tight the screws due to fix. Attach the casing on the housing. Put the ipeller in the casing.and ount the o-ring, front cover. Tight the clap due to fix. 6

27 Maintenance - Storage If Mono pup is stored for ore than 3 onths, its ipeller ust be pulled out. When puping the pup with ipeller which be stored for ore than 3 onths, its proble be happened. When the ipeller input in the pup, need careful job for rotating direction. About the assebly of ipeller, you can find the page of Overhaul. Especially, In huid area, if pup is stored for ore than 6 onths, independently, the pups be painted for rust resisting. That need the notify for application to be used. 7

28 Technical specifications. Seal fluid aount: 90%egree of filling Trouble shooting When facing probles with the puping syste, it is essential to work ethodically towards finding the cause. Each potential cause ust be investigated at a tie. The following initial questions ust be raised: Did the proble arise after changes in the puped edia properties? Did the proble arise after changes to pup and/or pipe syste? Did the proble arise after changes to the drive syste? If you can answer "yes" to any of the above: go back to the old set-up, and contact your closest DAE SUNG distributor for advice on your new application. If you can answer "no" to all of the above, please proceed with the below described trouble-shooting. 8
