This connector short - circuits all three pins in one of the two otor sockets and is designed to replace one lead. Couplings Application Franklin Electric offers this line of otor-pup couplings for axiu custoer convenience in atching the Franklin otor to a variety of pup shafts. Couplings are designed to transit the pup thrust to the otor in order to provide axiu benefits fro the Franklin internal thrust bearing construction. Hardened stainless steel spacer discs in the 4 and 6 couplings assure positive bearing between otor and pup shafts, and assure full support for downward thrust created by the pup. 8 couplings O NOT contain hardened spacer discs, since the otor shaft itself is hardened. Surge Arrestor Application These surge arrestors or their equivalents are highly recoended for protecting subersible otors fro a variety of coonly occurring high voltage spikes which can daage the otor insulation syste and cause otor winding failure. These arrestors will not, as is true of any surge protection equipent, protect the otor fro a direct lightning strike.
