1 GCX Mounting Assembly Operation/Installation Manual Dräger Model Fabius GS with Dräger Vamos, CWS 15 "Recall" and GEMS IT DASH 3000/4000 Patient Monitor Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 Vamos or Dash 3000/4000 Left Side Vamos, Dash 3000 /4000 Left Side, CWS 15 Right Side Vamos Left Side Dash 3000/4000 w/o Dashport Top Shelf CWS 15 Right Side The purpose of these instructions is to: 1. Describe attachment of GCX mounting hardware to the Fabius GS anesthesia machine. 2. Describe attachment of the Vamos, DASH 3000/4000 monitor and CWS 15 Recall to the GCX mounting hardware. WARNING: USE OF MOUNTING HARDWARE AND MONITORING COMPONENTS OTHER THAN THOSE DESCRIBED IN THIS DOCUMENT MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY DUE TO TIPPING OF THE ANESTHESIA MACHINE. FOR OPTION 2, WHEN VAMOS AND DASH 3000/4000 WILL BE MOUNTED TO THE LEFT SIDE, NO DASHPORT IS ALLOWED. 2 INSTALLATION Install Pivot Arms (Two Options) 1. Upper Position Fabius GS Pivot Arm 1. Guide Fabius GS Pivot Arm Extension Plate Slide into Channel as shown and tighten thumb screw at desired location. Channel Pivot Arm Extension Plate Thumb Screw 2. Guide Hinged Arm and bushing into Extension Plate as shown. Note: Tighten Tension Adjustment Screw for more tension. 3 2. 16 Pivot Arm Tools required: Hex Key (1/8 ) 1. Guide Pivot Arm slide into channel as shown 2. The Slide has (2) 1 / 4 20 x ¾ SHSS set screws that, when tightened, secure the Arm at the desired location within the Channel. 3. Install the Tilt Limiting Stop Screw and #10 plastic washer. 4 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE M Series Pivot Arm Pivot 1) To pivot the Arm (near the wall), simply push on the side of the Arm or mounted device. 2) To adjust the pivot tension at the Slide, use a ½ (or 13mm) socket driver to tighten or loosen the Pivot Tension Bolt to obtain the desired tension. Pivot Arm Swivel Tension Bolt Pivot Tension Bolt Swivel 1) To rotate the device simply push or pull the corners of the device. 2) To adjust the swivel tension, use a ½ (or 13mm) socket driver to tighten or loosen the Swivel Tension Adjustment Bolt located under the front end of the Arm. Tilt 1) Grasp the top and bottom of the device and tilt it to the desired angle (limited by Tilt Limit Screw) 2) To adjust the overall tilt tension, evenly tighten or loosen the (2) #10-32 x 5/8 SHCS Tilt Tension Adjustment Screws using the supplied 5/32 (4 mm) hex key (may require removal of Tilt Limit Screw Reinstall if removed). 5 INSTALLATION Vamos Parts Required: Set Adapter Plate P/N M4 x 6mm Pan Head Slotted screws (4) incl. Tools required : Pan Head Slotted Screwdriver Mount the Adapter Plate to Vamos. Mounting the Vamos to the Pivot Arm 1. Slide Vamos onto Mounting Plate. Pull down the Location Plunger to permit the Adapter Plate to slide all the way onto the Mounting Plate. Slide the monitor until the Location Plunger engages the Adapter Plate, thus securing the monitor in position. 2. Tighten the (4) nylon thumb screws. 6 Attachment of Power Supply Hanger for Vamos Separate Power Supply 1. Locate tapped holes on bottom of Pivot Arm to attach Power Supply Hanger. Tapped Holes 2. 7 Attachment of Power Supply Bracket 1. Locate tapped holes for attaching Power Supply Bracket to Power Supply Hanger. Tapped Holes 2. Guide Power Supply Holster onto hanger and secure with #10-32 x ¼ 100 FHMS (4). Note: Power Supply Holster can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. 8 Attachment of Power Supply and Nylon Retainer 1. Place power supply in Bracket as shown. Insert end of Velcro Straps through ring, pull the strap tight, and press firmly. Velcro Straps (2) 2. Loop power cable through Nylon Retainer. Fasten the Nylon Retainer to the bottom of the bracket using the #8 flat washer and #8-32 x ¼ PHMS included. #8 Flat Washer and #8-32 x ¼ PHMS Nylon Retainer PARTS LIST GCX P/N Dräger P/N DESCRIPTION WM MM15286 Power Supply M-Series Hanger w/ Velcro Straps INSTALLATION - Dash 3000/4000 Slide DASH into Pivot Arm Mounting Plate 1) Align the mounting adapter located at the bottom of the DASH with the edge of Mounting Plate. Slide the DASH into the plate until it stops at the Spring Plunger (located below the Mounting Plate). 9 Dash 3000 / 4000 on Top Shelf 1. Dräger Fabius GS Generic Top Plate with 21 Channel The purpose of these instructions is to: 1. Describe attachment of Fabius GS Top Plate. 1. Find the threaded inserts by locating the (4) dimples in the top of the anesthesia machine. If you have difficulty finding the dimples, use the top shelf as a template, and mark the top of the machine in the locations indicated. 2. Drill in the locations marked in step #1 (only where dimples are present), using a ¼ (6,3 mm) diameter drill bit. Drill bit should not penetrate material more than ¼ (6,3 mm). Drilling too deeply will damage insert threads and internal components of the machine. Remove all drilling chips. Location of threaded inserts Top Shelf 3. Low profile 10 Degree Horizontal Mount for Dash 3000 / 4000 without Dashport Tools Required: Philips head screw driver Install 10 Degree Horizontal Channel Mount into Channel 1) Align the Slide of the mount with edge of the Horizontal Channel insert into channel. Tighten the (2) #8-32 x 7/16 PHMS to secure position of the mount in the Channel. 2. Using Low Profile Tilt / Swivel Mount for Dash 3000 / 4000 w/o Dashport Tools Required: Philips head screw driver Install Low Profile Tilt / Swivel Mount into Channel 1) Align the Slide of the mount with edge of the Horizontal Channel insert into Channel. Tighten the (2) #8-32 x 7/16 PHMS to secure position of the mount in the Channel. Slide DASHPort into Mounting Plate 1) If necessary, install DASHPort Spacer per GCX Installation Instructions (DU-ME ) included with the Spacer. 2) Align the mounting adapter located at the bottom of the DASH 4000 DASHPort with the edge of Mounting Plate. Slide the DASHPort into the plate until it stops at the Spring Plunger (located below the Mounting Plate). Pull the Spring Plunger and continue to slide the DASHPort until the mounting adapter engages the Spring Plunger. 11 CWS 15 Recall Right side 1. Install CWS 15 onto Subplate Subplate 1) Locate the four M4 threaded studs beneath the CWS15 keyboard bracket. 12 2. Install Pivot Arm into Channel Tools required: Hex Key (1/8 ) 1. Guide Pivot Arm slide into Channel as shown 2. The Slide has (2) 1 / 4 20 x ¾ SHSS set screws that, when tightened, secure the Arm at the desired location within the Channel. Swivel Tension Bolt Cable Management 1) An open cavity beneath the arm with flexible cable covers manage cables going to and from the front and rear of the arm. Flexible Cable Covers Cleaning 1) The mounting assembly may be cleaned with most mild, non-abrasive solutions commonly used in the hospital environment (e.g. diluted bleach, ammonia, or alcohol solutions). 2) The surface finish will be permanently damaged by strong chemicals and solvents such as acetone and trichloroethylene. 3) Steel wool or other abrasive material should never be used. 4) Damage caused by the use of unapproved substances or processes will not be warranted. To verify compatibility, It is recommended that any cleaning solution be tested on a small area of the arm that is not visible. 5) Never submerge the mounting arm. Wipe any cleaning agents off of the arm immediately, using a water-dampened cloth. Dry the arm thoroughly after cleaning. CAUTION: GCX makes no claims regarding the efficacy of the listed chemicals or processes as a means for controlling infection. Consult your hospital s infection control officer or epidemiologist.
