This top will not protect the occupants from falling objects. Never operate vehicle in excess of manufacturer s specifications. Read and follow, precisely, all installation instructions provided when installing top. Failure to do so may result in a poor fitting top and could place occupants of the vehicle in a potentially dangerous situation.

3 1 Drill Holes for Arms 2 Locate the Drill Template in the parts kit. Place it along the sill under the vehicle. Slide the upper front hole in the template over the stud in the sill and install an 8mm Nut over the stud. Then install a Medium Socket Head Bolt in the lower front hole in the Drill Template. Drill a 1/8" pilot hole at the small hole next to the slot in the Template. Assemble Rivet Nut Insertion Assembly Slide a Washer over the Rivet Nut Insertion Assembly Bolt and follow it with the Rivet Nut Insertion Assembly Nut and a Rivet Nut. Place the Rivet Nut Insertion Assembly into one of the holes drilled in the previous step. Remove the Template and drill the hole out to 17/32". Repeat this at all four arm locations. Use a 14mm Wrench and a 13mm Socket to hold the Assembly square and flush with the hole. Tighten the bolt until the Rivet Nut is firmly clamped to the sheet metal. Remove the bolt, nut and washer. NOTE If necessary, remove any excessive undercoating so that the drill template can seat correctly against the sill. Repeat this procedure for all four holes. 4 3 Install Arms 4 Orient the Arms on the vehicle. The Rear Arms have the large pivot shaft for attaching the motor. Place an Arm over the attachment points from the previous steps. Install a Nut over the stud and two Medium Hex Head Bolts. One of these will go into the Rivet Nut installed in Step Two. Once all the Arms are installed, tighten the bolts to 16 ft./lbs. (22 Nm). Install Steps Orient the Steps on the vehicle and mount the Steps to the arms. Slide the mounting T-Nut into position. Install two Socket Head Bolts to secure the Step to each Arm. Adjust the Step so that the rear of the Step is 12-1/2" behind the Rear Arm. Use a 3/16" Allen Wrench to tighten the bolts to 10 ft./lbs. 5 5 Mount the Motors to the 6 Rear Arms Use two 6 mm Socket Head Bolts to mount a Motor to each Rear Arm. Install Control Box Locate the vehicle body fastener behind the air-intake box on the driver s side of the engine compartment. Use the fastener to install the Control Box behind the air-intake box. Plug the Wiring Harness into the Control Box. Make sure that the Locking Tabs engage. WARNING Remove the fuse from the Wiring Harness 7 Remove Fuse from Wiring Harness Remove the fuse from the Wiring Harness. 6 8 CAUTION Do not ground the wrench when engaged with the Nut. Secure Leads Attach the eyelet on the red Power Lead wire to the positive terminal on the battery. Attach the eyelet on the Black Lead wire to the negative terminal on the battery. Wiring Harness Battery 9 Secure Wiring Harness Route the longer leg of the harness across the front of the engine compartment and down to the motor on the passenger s side step. Route the shorter leg to the motor on the driver s side step. Use the wire ties in the parts kit to secure the harness to the fire wall in the engine compartment and to the frame under the vehicle. 7 10 Install Trigger Wires 11 Puncture the grommet in the floor panel behind the Front Arm and thread the Trigger wire from the Wiring Harness through the firewall. NOTE If no grommet is visible, drill a 9/32" hole in the floor panel and install the rubber grommet from the parts kit then thread the trigger wire through the grommet. Install T-Tap Connector Remove the step plate in the front door opening. Lift up the carpet and pull the Trigger wire through the grommet. Remove the kick panel and locate the wire in the harness under the kick panel that matches the Trigger Wire. Use pliers to install a T-Tap Connector on this wire. Install a Spade Connector on the Trigger Wire and connect it to the T-Tap Connector. 8 12 Connect Harness to Motor 13 Plug the end of the Wiring Harness into the Motor on each side of the vehicle. Reinstall Fuse Reinstall the fuse in the harness. Motor Wiring Harness Rev. B / pg. 8

9 14 Test Doors Open the doors to make sure that the Step drops into position on each side of the vehicle. Check that all bolts and fasteners are securely tightened. NOTE If the Step position is not even, repeat the adjustment from Step Four. 15 Reassemble Kick Plates Once you have checked that the Steps function properly, reinstall the Kick Plates and Step Plates on both sides of the vehicle.
