It is normal. Using it (some days or weeks) is improving until the inside is lubricated properly, with great touching. VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE : Don t unscrew the nuts of the hose and don t bend it excessively. Read carefully the installation guide before handling/manipulating screws and nuts of brake mod and hydraulic tank. If handled without attention to this notice, the customer will pay the repair charges and shipping cost. Pressure Sensor Hose Hydraulic tank Pressure Sensor Cable Damper Spring

2 I ) Installation Guide 1) We disassemble the G27 cover to access the pedals. (In this video you can see how do it) -We unscrew the brake pedal (photo screws) -2) We remove the red cylinder and we place the Spring/Damper (with the hose on the top). 2

3 I ) Installation Guide 3) We test the hardness of spring/damper. If you want the pedal backs up slower to its initial position, let the adjustment nut closest to the hose. (spring with less hardness) If you want the pedal backs up quicker to its initial position, let the adjustment nut further from the hose. (spring with more hardness) -To do this, we loosen (counter clockwise) the allen screw of adjustment nut and move it to one side or another. Finally we tighten (clockwise) the allen screw again. Adjustment Nut Spring Allen Screw 4) Connecting the wires NOTE = If you do not want to use the pressure sensor, leave the original wires connected to the potentiometer. Thus, the value of the braking will continue as the potentiometer. We disconnect the 3 Faston Female Connectors of Potentiometer using flat pliers or nippers. 3

4 I ) Installation Guide 5) If you are using the pedals with black cover, it is recommended to make a hole in the back to introduce the pressure sensor cable 6) We connect the Male Faston of the sensor cable with Female Faston of brake pedal. Pressure Sensor Cables Brake Cables White Cable of Brake (Signal) < > Green of Sensor Black Cable of Brake (Ground) < > Black of Sensor Red Cable of Brake (5V) < > Red of Sensor NOTE = If you do not connect thereby, there can be failures in the brake mod and the USB s Operating System. 4

5 I ) Installation Guide 7) Once connected, check that the connectors of different colors don t touch each other (Use electrical tape or similar to cover connectors independently) NOTE = It is very important to isolate the connectors so they don t touch each other. 8) Place the Black cable s screw like is set originally. (Screwed in the pedal) 5

6 I ) Installation Guide 9.a) PEDALS WITH COVER. If you re going to use the pedal s cover, we recommend placing the hydraulic tank like in the following photos. (with flanges, double sided tape and using a small screw to fix it on original housing) NOTE = Don t bend excessively the hose. It could cause failures. When you put back the black cover, make sure don t pinch or cut any internal cable 6

7 I ) Instalación 9.b) PEDALS WITHOUT COVER. For users who use the pedals inverted without the cover, we show several photos of the installation and how to fix the hydraulic tank. (In this example, installed in the Cockpit Genesis with a bracket and flanges) 7

8 II ) Basic Settings 1) Spring Adjustment If you want the pedal backs up slower to its initial position, let the adjustment nut closest to the hose. (spring with less hardness) If you want the pedal backs up quicker to its initial position, let the adjustment nut further from the hose. (spring with more hardness) 1.1) -To do this, we loosen the nut s allen screw and move the adjustment nut to one side or another. Finally back to tighten the allen screw. Adjustment Nut Spring Allen Screw 1.2) Changing the Spring. Counter clockwise the bottom of the damper and remove the spring. RECOMMENDATION = For a more realistic touch braking, we recommend leaving the adjustment Nut between ¼ and ½ of position from the hose. Thereby, the pedal backs up slower to its initial position. 8

9 II ) Basic Settings 2) Pressure Sensor Adjustment The pressure sensor is industrial and with precision of 24 Bits. It is calibrated to give the range of Voltage from 0 V to 5 V. 2.1) We turn clockwise the central screw ( with Allen Wrench ) of the end of hydraulic tank to the maximum. This will be the hardest point of the pressure sensor. (Minimum travel pedal and maximum force to make with the foot). 2.2) From that position, we can turn the screw 360 degrees counter clockwise, getting the minimum point of hardness pressure sensor (maximum travel pedal and minimum pedal force to make with the foot). 2.3) Find the optimal configuration by the user within 360 º turn of the allen screw. For Version V3, the working range for the pressure sensor is within 3 or 4 last turns of the allen screw. Maximum Position of Allen Screw Adjustment - Hardness + Hardness 360º Allen Wrench Don t unscrew or manipulate these screws / valves RECOMMENDATION = For a more realistic touch braking, we recommend leaving the adjustment screw between 90 (¼ turn of the screw) and 270 (¾ turn the screw) degrees of turn. (From the maximum torque of screw) 9

10 II ) Basic Settings 2.4) After adjusting the screw, we will use the gold nut to fix it. 10

11 III ) Recommendations 1) In order to make the most of Mod Brake, it is recommended to use the pedals independently (by USB) with a converter cable or another Controller Boards. -Leo Bodnar Cable ( Resolution 10 bits. From 0 to 1023 steps in the Simulator). Note : For Leo Bodnar Cables manufactured before July 2011 and with Serial Numbers between B00001 and B16000, swap the connectors +5V (Red) and GND (Black). Leo Bodnar Calibration Software. Download Invert signal if it required. Adjust the Min. And Max. Dead Zones. The Min and Max Value can be different depending on the PC, Drivers or Devices connected. Pedal Pushed to the max with Leo Bodnar cable Joystick / Controller Boards: -Bu8036A / X (Leo Bodnar) ( Resolution 12 bits. More than 4000 steps in the Simulator) Calibration Software BU0836A Download Invert signal if it s required. Select the Normal Option in each Analogic Input. -Another models (DSD 12 Bits, etc..) The Min and Max Value can be different depending on the PC, Drivers or Devices connected. Connect the 5V and GND pins separately from the other pedals. Configuration and Connector PinOut : Instructions Bu0836 Setup Guide DIView. 2) Otherwise, using the pedals connected to wheel G25/G27, the resolution will be 8 bits (From 0 to 255 steps in the simulator) If you want to invert the input signal of brake, go to Logitech Profiler / Brake / Properties / Invert Signal 11

12 III ) Recommendations 2) It is tested with the pedals connected directly to the wheel, to leo bodnar cable and similar boards. It works perfectly on all PC simulators (Iracing, Rfactor 1 & 2, Assetto Corsa, Nkpro, RBR, Gtr2, Project Cars, ) Compatible with PlayStation 3. 3) In iracing, it is important to put the value BRAKE FORCE CURVE FACTOR (Options / controls) to 0. So the braking is detected as says the pressure sensor. VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE 4) Don t bend excessively the hose 5) Don t unscrew the nuts on both ends of the hose. 6) Don t unscrew or manipulate the allen screw on the side of the hydraulic tank. 7) Don t handle the vale of the end of the hydraulic tank. 8) Don t unscrew the pressure sensor from hydraulic tank 12

13 IV ) Advanced Settings THESE ADVANCED SETTINGS ARE VERY DELICATED AND CAN CAUSE FAILURES IN THE BRAKE MOD. WE RECOMMEND DON T UNSCREW IT 1) Bleed Screw The Bleed Screw is located on the side of the hydraulic tank. Bleed Screw Just unscrewing to fill oil inside the hydraulic reservoir. The tank is already calibrated to the amount of oil required for optimal performance. Before touching this screw, contact with us. info@totalspanishsimulator.com 13

14 IV ) Advanced Settings THESE ADVANCED SETTINGS ARE VERY DELICATED AND CAN CAUSE FAILURES IN THE BRAKE MOD. 2) Air Valve Is located at the end of the hydraulic tank. Video Air Valve Its function is to fill air inside the hydraulic tank. If at any time, the sensor has lost air pressure, proceed as follows: 2.1) Loosen the screw (counte clockwise) several turns the screw of pressure sensor adjustment. 2.2) Press the brake (with hand) to the maximum 2.3) Attach (with hand) the valve and release the brake 2.4) Pressing the internal valve to fill air inside the hydraulic tank. 2.5) Tighten (clockwise) the screw of pressure sensor adjustment to the maximum. 2.6) Proceed as in Section 2.1 on page 9 for optimal configuration. 16 VI ) Considerations with Brake Mod TSS The Brake Mod is tested and configured to work with the G25/G27 pedals. If it installed in other pedals with a different length brake, may not operate correctly. If you are having problems with your current brake system, replace it by the TSS Mod will not solve the problem 100%. In any case, it will increase because of its high resolution. Firstly, you must solve the problems you have. With the original system (contacting with Technical Support of your device) or if you have an external controllers (Leo Bodnar, Derek, etc.), contacting with the manufacturer. We only supply information and solutions of our brake mod. Our obligation is to supply a voltage of 0-5 V with precision and linearity proportional to the pressure. We can help to our customers, but we aren t required to answer questions that are not about the independent operation of the Brake Mod TSS. If you're considering replacing your brake system, check first functionality (drivers, signal noise, power supply PC, USB ports,..). And if you use external controllers, you have to know the Operation method (how it handles the signals, voltages, amperages, input and output pins, connections, etc...) All of our components are checked one by one, In performance and stability with continuous periods of stable and variable load. The TSS Mod brake is a component of high performance, capable of giving a higher signals that have a real brake. If you install it and you see that there isn t a signal or not change it when you press the brake, check the connections and polarity (red and black wires). No reverse connections because can damage the pressure sensor. Always before making any changes, check the polarity and voltage. If you have questions, contact with us. 16
