4 In this supplementary construction manual of the UL 40-S2P you will find only the differences with respect to the original UL 40-S2 manual. Construction step 1 up to and including 15 are equal. 5 The cinch inputs 1. You will find the cinch input mounting plate provided with your kit. Mount it at the back side of the cabinet using two x10 screws and nuts. This plate covers six of the original eight holes in the cabinet. Take both cinch inputs and mount these carefully into the two remaining holes. Please take care to mount both isolating washers provided with each input, one at the inside and the other at the outside of the cabinet, the metal parts of the cinch inputs not making contact with the cabinet. 2. Take two 35cm lengths of green wire and also two lengths of 35cm of the black wire. Solder these wires to the cinch inputs, one black wire to each ground terminal and one green wire to each middle terminal. Mark one of the green wires at each end using a felt tip pen. Now twist the four wires together as this is a very effective way to reduce hum. 3. Route these four wires to the solder terminals at the front side of the PCB and solder them in place. The central two terminals are electrically connected, they provide the ground connection to both black wires, the green wires ones have to be soldered to the remaining left and right terminals. Step 17 up to and including 20 again are equal to the original manual. 5
