2 Page 2 of 8 1 Mounting and commissioning Mounting is possible in any position. The mounting surface must be smooth and free from dirt and paint. 8.8 grade bolts DIN 931 with 8.8 grade self-locking nuts to DIN 980 are to be used for mounting. Bolts of 16 mm and larger thread diameter are to be secured with series B conical spring washers according to DIN 6796 type B and selflocking nuts according to DIN 980 with washers. Tighten as follows if another procedure is not given: Bolts made of C-steel: M Nm, M Nm, M Nm, M Nm, M Nm. Bolts made of stainless steel: M Nm, M Nm, M Nm, M Nm, M Nm. The following three figures show different admitted bolt connections between motor and mounting plate:

3 Page 3 of 8 Important! Retighten bolts after ten minutes operation, then check and retighten daily within the first week. If content of operating instructions for machine in chapter 1 b) bolts differs to this instructions prefer operating instructions for machine. Attention! High potential of danger due to non covered rotating eccentric weights must be avoided - except for motor vibrators test running (chapter of operating instructions for machine) - through mounted guards covering. 2 Electrical connection, characteristics Type of protection: IP 55, option IP 65 Insulating material: Connection: Motor protection: Explosion protection Class F Insulation for tropical use: standard Use highly-flexible rubber-sheathed cable type NSSH öu. Feed cable into terminal box leaving big loop. Ensure cable does not rub on machine parts. Run the cable in most direct way inside the terminal box and secure the cable against twisting and straining in the entry. Protect the motors against excessive heating by incorporating a motor protection switch or thermorelay. Motors of twin motor vibrators to be interlocked. Observe provisions in test certificate.

4 Page 4 of 8 The power connection must be established only by somebody who is skilled in the art. The voltage of the power system and the periodicity must be in accordance with the data on the machine plate. The vibration motor must be connected only to a supply source, which is in accordance with the VDE regulations (VDE = Assocation of German Electricians). The motor must be secured from possible overload by a thermal circuit breaker, which must be set according to the nominal electric data on the machine plate. Star circuit, for high (or single) voltage on the machine plate Star delta circuit for low voltage on the machine plate The connection must be established by means of a flexible power cable. We recommend the following cable types NSSHÖU-J 4 x 1,5² of 14 mm diameter, according to VDE Plastic cables are unsuitable. Provide the core ends with cable eyes or pinch sockets, as otherwise strands are apt to break behind the soldered points. Close the terminal box again with the seal and lock bolt. When putting the vibration motor into operation for the first time the power input must be examined. Should it exceed the data on the machine plate, the trouble can be remedied by reducing the centrifugal force. 3 Adjustment of unbalance The 2 or 3 eccentric weights attached to the two shaft ends are accessible through removal of the guards. The inner eccentric weights can be rotated after loosening the clamping bolt. A scale graduated from 10 to 100 shows the setting in per cent of the centrifugal force. The eccentric weights on both sides of the motor vibrator have to be adjusted to the same position. Maximum adjustment of unbalance given by VIBRA delivery is not allowed to exceed! Exceptions have to be arranged with VIBRA or are given in operating instructions for the machine.

5 Page 5 of 8 The MEMO-disk located below the terminal box can be set to the chosen percentage, permitting subsequent reading of centrifugal force without removing guards. 4 Lubrication and maintenance The motors of sizes A - H are permanently lubricated and need no maintenance. Motors of size K have to be greased with 67 g lubricant per bearing after hours operating. The lubricating nipples are accessible after removal of the guards. After 8000 hours operating, the bearings of motors of size K have to be disassembled, degreased and afterwards greased with the amount of grease mentioned in the following table. Use Renolit H 443/HD 88 grease when replacing or re-greasing bearings of standard motors. Amount of grease required per bearing: Size A B C D E F G H K Grease/g
