4 Installation & Adjustment Note: The following instructions show installation on the left-hand side of the chair; repeat all steps indicated to complete the right side Hip Support installation. Please read through the entire instruction manual before proceeding with the installation. Lateral Hip Support Installation & Adjustment With the client seated in the chair, determine (approximate) the most desirable fore & aft mounting location for the Lateral Hip Support and select the nearest (existing) mounting holes the seat side frame. (note: the mounting bracket for the Hip Support is typically installed around the center of the seat side frame; Further height and depth adjustments are available via the upright bar and the hip pad). Please refer to Figure 2.0 for detailed adjustment options. 1. With the mounting position determined, use the hardware provided to install the mounting bracket onto the seat side frame. Refer to Step A. in Figure 1.0 below. (note: the seat may need to be tilted to access the underside of the seat side frame). 2. With the mounting bracket installed, slide the upright plate into the slot of the mounting bracket and adjust the height of the plate to establish the final hip pad height. Install the stop bar (see Figure 1.0- Step B. below) onto upright plate at the mounting hole position that comes closest to the achieving the desired overall height. (note: lower plate adjustments are available in 5/8 increments- refer to Figure 2.0). Figure 1.0 Lateral Hip Support Installation hip pad (8 x 3-1/2 ) C Step C: Using the available height and depth adjustments- install the hip pad onto the upright plate using the hardware provided upright plate B stop bar mounting bracket Step B: Adjust the upright plate to the desired position (height) and fasten the stop bar to the plate. A Step A: Secure the mounting bracket onto seat frame using the hardware provided set-screw (for fixed support) hand-wheel lock (for removable support upgrade)

5 Installation & Adjustment PLEASE NOTE: There are 4 optional lateral hip pads sizes available; the height adjustment remains common for all pad sizes, however, the for/aft adjustment can vary depending on the style of pad selected. Please refer to Figure 2.0 below for details on the various pad options and adjustments. 3. Before completing the installation- determine the final height and fore/ aft position (depth) of the lateral hip pad relative to the upright plate: i) The hip pad can be installed onto the upright plate at one of two height positions- see Important note below. (note: A maximum 1/2 of height adjustment is available via the plate). ii) The fore/aft adjustment of the hip pad will vary depending on the selected pad style- see Figure 2.0 below. (note: fore/aft adjustments are available in increments along the length of the hip pad). Once the final mounting position has been chosen, secure the Lateral Hip Pad onto the upright plate using the hardware provided- refer to Figure 1.0- Step C.) Important! - all four (4) mounting screws (provided) must be used to secure the hip pad onto the plate; if the overall height or depth cannot be achieved via the adjustment in the hip pad, then adjustments must be made via the stop bar or the mounting bracket. 4. Secure the Lateral Hip Support Assembly into place on the seating system: i) for fixed hip supports: tighten the set-screw in the mounting bracket until it is snug up against the upright plate (refer to Figure 1.0). ii) for removable hip supports: tighten the hand-wheel lock in the mounting bracket until it is snug up against the upright plate (refer to Figure 1.0).
