3 1. SAFETY INFORMATIONS Safety! Installation, commissioning and maintenance of this device must be done by a qualified person in compliance with the operating instructions. Otherwise device and related equipments may be damaged and personnel may be injured. National and local regulations must be taken into consideration. Warning! Please make sure to remove the main supply before installation. Otherwise this may cause damage to the product, personal injuries or even death. 2. DESCRIPTION In boiler water, there are precipitated solids at the bottom of the boiler expect dissolved solids. Automatic Bottom Blowdown System ensures right and perfect bottom blowdown of precipitated solids at the bottom of the boiler. It provides key operated manual control and full automatic control. It prevents waste of water and boiler water chemicals, therefore fuel and energy losses because of too much blowdown. Blowdown can be performed at desired ranges and times. The Bottom Blowdown Valve BKV 4000 opens in response to a signal from the Bottom Blowdown Controller BK 4000 according to determined frequency and duration of the blowdown. BKV 4000 MKK v10.01-en 3

6 4.2. Air Connection Air connection can be made to port shown in Figure 4 with 1/4' pneumatic tube fitting like in Figure 3. Wiring can be made with 2x1 mm 2 normal cable like in Figure 5. Remove the screw (1) and open the namur solenoid valve cable inlet cover. Wiring can be made with 2x1 mm 2 normal cable like in Figure 6. 7 5. COMMISSIONING Make sure that all cable connections and air connection are right. After making air connection, it must be checked that air pressure is enough and valve is opened and closed properly by pressing the blue button on the namur solenoid valve (Figure 3 (2)). Make sure that controller operates the valve properly. To make this check please refer to BK 5000 TDS Blowdown Controller Installation and Operating Instructions. 7. MAINTENANCE Warning! Please make sure to remove the main supply before detach the device. Otherwise this may cause damage to the product, personal injuries or even death.
