SSEMLY ND INSTLLTION OF RDINT HETER LL GURDS WRNINGS mbirad equipment must be installed and maintained in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Gas Safety (Installations and Use) Regulations 1998 for gas fired products. Due account should also be taken of any obligations arising from the Health and Safety at Works ct 1974 or relevant codes of practice. In addition the installation must be carried out in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations (S 7671), S 6896:2005 (Industrial & Commercial) and any other relevant ritish Standards and Codes of Practice by a qualified installer. ll external wiring MUST comply with the current IEE wiring regulations.

2 Introduction. The ball guard system consists of modules which are supported from the underside of the radiant tube from brackets. The ball guard sections are fitted in tandem along the system. When any assembling, installing, commissioning or servicing is undertaken on radiant tube heaters, due care and attention is required to ensure that working at height regulations are adhered to at the mounting heights specified. The following tools and equipment are advisable to complete the tasks laid out in this manual. Suitable alternative tools may be used. Leather Faced Gloves Pliers 10mm & 13mm Spanners Wrench With Extension 10mm & 13mm Socket Tape Measure ssembly and Installation Starting at the burner end, position a U bolt (C) around the radiant tube on the inside of the reflector, through the guard bracket () and secure using with nuts (E) and washers (D). Noting the length of the ball guard from the data shown within these instructions, position the next guard bracket along the tube at the correct distance. The ends of the ball guard should fall Inside the retaining tabs of each bracket and be allowed movement (see figure 1.2). allguards are not designed to overlap. The U bolt/bracket assemblies should be positioned perfectly square to ensure that the ball guard module lies horizontal when fitted. Offer the first ball guard () to the first fixed bracket (). Secure in position by inserting the cotter pins [also known as spilt pins] (F) through the holes and bend the tails. Temporally position the other end of the ball guard to the second guard bracket with cotter pins (F). gain noting the length of the next ball guard from the data, position the next guard bracket along the tube at the correct distance. Offer the second ball guard () to the second fixed bracket () and secure the cotter pins (F). Temporally position the other end of the ball guard to the second guard bracket with cotter pins (F). Continue this method along the radiant tube with further ball guards as necessary. 2
