9 Strategic Projects: EOLO, Lateral Wind Basic Description: Installation of a predictive system to detect lateral wind in the high speed line Madrid-Lleida, in order to protect high speed train stability with lateral wind flows. 27 Meteorologic Stations to measure climatic conditions along the line. Intelligent units to predict winds based on acquired measures in each area Link of the prediction units with the traffic control systems to set speed restrictions when needed. Kinetic storage energy Basic description: SA2VE Project (Advanced Energy Saving system) includes the development and building of a Kinetic energy saving platform to recover the braking current from the trains and to return it to other trains in the area. 15 Conclusions: At the time being ADIF has, due to its performance and length, one of the most important high speed network of the world. New lines interoperability have been one of the main targets from the design stage, and it allows now a real competitively among all the suppliers. ADIF is strongly committed in promoting new technological developments to improve rail traffic management and infrastructure maintenance, as well as to implement new technologies to increase energy efficiency and to reduce the lateral wind risk.
