TCO advantage over ICE cars. From a customer s point of view, zero emission vehicles must have recognizable advantages over conventional cars. Page 12

13 BMW FUEL CELL VEHICLES AND HYDROGEN TECHNOLOGY. CONCLUSION. BMW is committed to supporting transportation decarbonization. Electricity and hydrogen will become the main energy carriers for transportation in the long term. Hydrogen allows to stabilize the grid, to store surplus electricity and to provide fuel for mobility while maintaining today`s customer habits and infrastructure business models. Energy utilities and industry are encouraged to invest in renewables and implement innovative ways to supply transportation energy for customers at a reasonable price. Policymakers must set a framework that encourages customers to go zero emission. The way forward: Launch regional zero emission mobility public/private projects that include: customers, vehicles, infrastructure and renewable energy supply. Page 13
